There is already dualboot mod in the dev section, but you can only dualboot between two androidsystems. Windows will never run on defy because windows isn't opensource and you can't modify it so that it runs on the defy

so bada is also another option...........

except that our boot loader is locked. a dual boot of android system is the max we can go

That's right. We can't port things with our locked bootloader. Even if it wasn't locked we would need the sources to port the os but they're closed source.

HTC HD2 was originally a windows phone thats why it has windows. Currently windows has not been ported to any android devices yet or ever. But android has been ported to the iphone search up idroid. Like UEman said it's not possible on an android device because windows is not opensource but like you see android can be ported to almost any device using linux as it is opensource

A Request to "Maclaw" | Porting CM 9 of Galaxy Ace to Motorola Fire XT

Hi there.. ,
I am a new member so posting my PM content composed for "Maclaw" here in form of a request thread.

I need your kind help in porting your "CyanogenMod 9.0.0 Release for Samsung Galaxy Ace" <<TO>> Motorola Fire XT (Also known as Motorola Fire XT XT530, Motorola XT531, Motorola SPICE XT) as the hardware for both of these phones is very much identical.
Many owners of fire XT have already rooted their phone successfully . (just waiting or a custom ROM support )
As per your post here the release is beta "5" mode (CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0-GT-S5830-GalaxyICS-KANG-beta5).
Many members across XDA are looking forward to have a custom ROM for this smartphone. Please help me/us; the stock gingerbread sucks.
I am ready to help you but as I actually don't own the phone till now* (buying soon) BUT others who do own it will get back to you.
I think that as the hardware specs are nearly identical then in that case we shouldn't face any serious problems while porting it to motorola fire xt.
Waiting for a positive reply,

Unfortunately the project is called GALAXYics, It's to port ics to the low-end Samsung Galaxy phones. That is why mikegapinski's project for lg-gt540 is not in Galaxyics (it's built on it though)
But who knows I might have misunderstood it completely, but for now it's probably not gonna happen, sorry

The problem is not really porting the OS itself. It is finding a way to boot it on our phones that poses the challenge. Motorola uses secure boot and does not allow unlocking the boot loader.
I tried overcoming this problem by faking signatures, but ended up bricking the phone.
After some reading, I found out that all modern motorola phones have the same problem. Devs were able to load clockwork mod without touching the stock recovery or interfering with secure boot. This was done by a process called boot strapping (or 2nd-init). This requires a more skilled person than me.
Once we get clockwork mod on our Fire XT, porting ICS to our phone would be a piece of cake especially building upon the work of Maclaw for the ace.

Then how come there's a lot of development of other motorola phones such as Defy?
cddddddddddddddddddddd c...
now this probably wont work on your phone. but on ours we managed to use 'boot hijacking' to load a recovery on stock. this just edited the chargemon and if we spammed back it loaded a recovery. we then flashed gb and froyo on the stock kernel till thelaser hacked the bootloader

Multi system on wfs?

Hi people sometime ago I was watching Nokia n900 and found video where it is on multi system (when phone boots it asks which system to boot). Then I saw guide to wfs : how to run Ubuntu on our phone. There you use terminal and run Ubuntu both with android. So now questio: can we make wfs to ask which systemo boot on start?
What you mean to say is Dual booting different operating systems.......Unfortunately it cant be done on the Wildfire S as no other OS has been ported to our device(and probably will never happen)
Ubuntu runs on top of Android via terminal emulator
The nokia n900 Dual boots Maemo and Android while the N9 dual boots Meego and Android.........
So the answer is no
And QUESTIONS IN THE Q AND A SECTION

No updates on this since a long time...
Man, there was NEVER ANY Android device on which Windows could be installed.
2 minutes of googling would have been enough so that you hadn't to post this question.

Microsoft did release a Windows 10 Rom for Xiaomi MI 4 and was also planning to release it for the oneplus 3. There are also some devices which have both Windows and Android installed out of the box.
Yea, I hope Microsoft comes through with the Windows ROM. I would flash it.
It's hard to get open source systems (like Android) to work on officially unsupported devices. Windows is closed source so we'll definitely not gonna see it unless Microsoft decides to bring it to OP3.

Windows 10 arm on Phone

Hello Guys,
I was just wondering if it would be theoretically possible to port the Windows 10 on ARM OS from a Laptop like the "Asus NovaGo TP370QL" which is using an snapdragon 835 to a phone like the Mi Mix 2 which is using the same SOC ??
I dont really know much about Operating Systems, but since it is the same SOC and a phone is nothing more than a Computer, there should be probably a chance to get it running right?
Im really interested in your thought!

Don't think it's possible. This version of the Snapdragon 835 is customized to run on Windows 10 on ARM, which is also customized to run on ARM. And if it's possible, it'll take hella lot of work I think.
Hi it's available for mi4 : http://en.miui.com/thread-189556-1-1.html
But I don't know if one day this can be available on mi mix 2 :/

This was an exclusice deal between Xiami and Microsoft back then. I don't think this will ever come to any other Xiaomi device as it was Win10 mobile, which is dead.

Would be nice though using a full windows 10 installation on the go.
Probably that was something microsoft was aiming for when they brought windows 10 mobile to the Mi 4....
Eventhough the installation, drivers, etc probably doesnt work, would a bootloader like TWRP be able to boot the arm iso of windows?

TWRP isn't a bootloader, it's a recovery. But you're right, TWRP would probably be able to INSTALL the image, but it wouldn't work.
Thanks for your opinion on this topic
I think i ll read some more about making your own rom for a device and probably try it out on my phone.
But i have no great hope for even getting to boot the iso ^^
(I should probably wait for Microsoft to publish a mobile OS again before I brick my phone )
