Instant upload album - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey I'm running ARHD 2.1.2 and I have an album called insta uploads. I was wondering if any of you guys are aware how to remove this album.? It has a picasa icon next to the name which is weird cause I can't find that installed anywhere. Anyone who can help gets a thanks! Btw already tried to delete there is no trash button.

Do you have Google Plus installed? That's how I first noticed instant upload. It's an option when you first set it up. I personally like it. I now don't have to worry about backing up my photos separately.

I did but uninstall ed it cause I thought it was the problem. But its still there. I did but there's photos of my ex and it gets old seeing them there when I have someone new and she's getting annoyed there's virtually an album of my ex and I on it

I too wondering why Google decided to make it a PITA for everybody to remove the instant-uploaded photo. They do let us Edit though, that really ticks me off.

Well thank you geek_riot you helped me narrow it down. To anyone else, the only way to edit this is to go on your computer and delete the photos (or maybe google+ on your phone?) Either way its not the way it should be :\.

The way I keep them from showing up/get rid of the album:
1. Go to accounts under settings and remove whatever Google account the Instant Upload folder is tied to.
2. Go to the settings in Gallery and make sure that you have "Sync on Wifi Only" checked.
3. With Wifi turned off re-add your Google account, then uncheck the box to sync Google albums.
4. Carry on as normal.
This works as long as you don't select the "Refresh" option in the Gallery. That forces the Gallery to re-associate your Instant Upload album, similar to doing a one time sync of your Gmail inbox if you have auto sync turned off.

[Q] Gallery 3D showing mysterious pictures !!!

My Gallery 3D is showing pictures / albums that showed up out of nowhere... and I couldnt find the details/properties that shows where they are stored in.
Some pictures, when I clicked at "more" and then "details", it would show "unknown location" at its properties. Therefore I have no clue how to delete it !
This particular album/folder that I can't delete at all (delete option is not showing) made me insane!
Check attachment. it's the one below (U1010) with odd signs on it.

Can't you delete them from within the gallery? The stamp looks like its in a folder created by a camera(?) Use a file manager and search the name of the album title.

I've tried to search for album name 'U1010' using root explorer and astro. Sd/non sd. Both returns no results. It seems like the stamp comes from camera. But actually the only place i had those photos are in my pc and in my photobucket account. That is why im so confused how could they suddenly appears there...
Those were pics that I took 2 years ago. And since I use my htc, i never even open those files in my pc, or even somehow link my htc to my photobucket account..

Are they on your picasa account and have you synced with that?
i have the same icon on all my albums i sync from picasa.
Dont know how the hell that happened. How i removed that is by going to manage applications, gallery, clear data, force stop, and just restart app.

goto settings, accounts & sync, google, and untick sync picasa web albums. That will stop them from syncing again.
The same happened to me.
It seems the "mysterious" are pictures that had suddenly disappeared for some reason from the SD. I wonder if this is related to the mentioned SD card filesystem corruption when using A2SD / A2SD+. Moreover, I would like to know how to restore them back..
Hi. I had a similar problem. I deleted all files from sdcard/android/data/com.cooliris.media/cache and 3d gallery sorted itself out.
Finally found it! But there's really no option to untick picasa web albums. When i click google, four options showed up, if i click one of them it will sync. No option to remove. Therefore if i click at 'Google' it will again sync picasa also.

[Q]Pics aren't saving

I have a Desire Z. Everything seems to work well on it but whenever I take a pic with the phone camera it doesn't save to the gallery and then it'll randomly show up weeks to months later. Has anyone had this problem?
Also, When I add a new contact to my phone, it doesn't save it under "people". It's saved in some random area of the phone accessable by searching for the name. Any ideas?

Are you using the stock gallery? If so, I would download QuickPic from the Market as a replacement. The stock gallery has a way of mishandling my media, but QuickPic is near flawless.
With the contacts issue... I have no idea. Are you saving to google - not to phone? How long since you've replaced your SIM card?

I am using the stock picture gallery. I will try DLing quick pic and give that a try.
I'm not sure if it's saving to google not to phone. Is there any way to check that? If I type in a persons name it will show their contact info but if I just go to the people icon and look through the list it won't show them. It's like their hidden contacts.......

You won't be disappointed with QuickPic.
As far as contacts, I'm not really sure where the setting is with regard to saving to google versus phone. It does sound like your contacts are on phone only at this time. If you go to Settings > Accounts > Google is there a box ticked to Sync Contacts? If not, enabled it for sure. I do know that when I "add a contact" I am prompted with the option to save to google (synced) or save to the phone only. Of course, I always choose google.
Perhaps try googling "how to move contacts from phone only to google sync on Android?" Or something like that...
lots say its a bug, appears after GB OTA.
im using quick Pic. solves my problem, faster than stock gallery/sense gallery.

I DL'ed QuickPic, thank you! Great app, solved my missing pictures problem
And you were right, my contacts were being saved to google which wasn't checked off to be shown on my contacts list. So I clicked to add google contacts to list and problem solved.
Thanks for your help

[Q] Google+ Photos Widget Not Working

So when I add the Google+ Photos widget, it displays a message that says either "Photos not synced." or "No photos found." Even though sync has always been enabled. I get the "No photos found" if I manually sync with the widget added. If I remove and add the widget again, I get "Photos not synced."
I searched but couldn't find anything. It did work when I originally got the phone so I wonder if this is related to 4.0.2.
Aaaaaand it just started working all of a sudden. Who knows what the hell happened.

Not working again. Looks like I'm the only one with this issue?
go to accounts and syc
tap on your google account
scroll down and check "Sync Google Photos" (might have to also check "Sync Google+")
then go to your gallery/settings
uncheck sync on wifi (you may or may not have to do this)
then go back to your gallery and wait for it to finish refreshing
now try
this is exactly step by step how i got it working
Thanks that's exactly what I did the last time. Sync on wifi was on and I was not on wifi. I didn't update the post since nobody ever seemed to have this issue.

Google Calendar not Syncing

Hello all,
I am using my Gnex with Vicious JB (the 8/02 version with CM10). I was using this, then tried Xenon for a little bit and came back. I just realized that the Calendar is not syncing up, though.
When I open the app it asks me if I want to sign in. This is weird since I have my Google account connected to my phone already. When I try to add it I get a message saying that this account is already on the phone... but my Calendar remains empty. I tried going to Settings -> Accounts and then Sync, there is no option for Calendar there. I also tried to add an account from the Calendar app, but it only allows me to select Corporate or Verizon.
Anyway, has anyone ever run into this before? Thanks in advance. Let me know if you need any more info, I am sure I forgot something.
Have you wiped after flashing?
Oh right, yes, I did. The cache and dalvik-cache.
I found some "solutions" on other sites and tried those. These included connecting existing Gmail accounts and creating a new ones. Still no good.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
This happened to me I just flashed gapps and calendar synced

Would bet money if you looked in system/apps that you are missing GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk. Pretty much any gapps package will have it which is why it worked for the poster above me.

Try removing your Google account and re-add it back in.

Hmm, I tried removing my account and adding it back in. I'll try flashing gApps and seeing what happens. Thanks guys.
Must be calendar sync not installed. Back up ROm and dirty flash gapps after.

Dirty flashing the gapps did it. I don't know why I didn't think of trying that.
Thanks a million, guys!

[Q] Latest HTC Gallery update [CLOUD]

Hy,
anyone saw that the new gallery update brings "Browse your photos and videos in the cloud" functionality?
Now I sure dont see any option for this but at night I got a notification from Coud that "duplicates has been deleted"...
I dont know where I can find this features, but I sure dont want any photos/videos uploaded to cloud without my permission... So if anyone have any info on this, I would really appreciate it.
Best regards
X2
I have an htc one m7 that I just updated to the latest version, after a reboot it shows the same message "gallery cloud" duplicate... etc
It didnt ask for my permission, I have the htc sync disabled, cant seem to find the option to disable this POS. Not happy.
I just noticed this morning the same behavior. I am trying to find out where this service is coming from, why it is running without my permissions and why it is putting my personal information in the cloud somewhere and I don't know where or how to get it, shut it off, or change it. It has really pissed me off to no end. I am hoping someone has an idea.
Just came here looking for the same answer.
A bit of a **** move if HTC is uploading peoples pics without asking first!!
I've emailed HTC via the play store app and asked how do we turn this feature off. I'll post if I get an answer...
Chiming in. just saw this, not pleased. I'm thinking of disabling the app till a solution is found.
I might bin it too, don't want this feature using up my data allowance...I've got about 4000 pictures on my phone...
yea wtf
Same issue. my phone keeps giving me a Cloud Gallery notification every 10 minutes or so saying it deleted duplicate photos. What in the world HTC was thinking, we may never know. But they need to let us turn this off because I show it using my data. Not cool HTC.
To add to it, I open my gallery and its cycling through all of my photos. Constantly. I click a folder, then the 'highlights' starts fast-cycling through every single photo in the folder. Not like a preview as it used to (which was annoying). This needs to stop. As someone else mentioned, I also have thousands of photos on my phone and this is driving me nuts.

HTC Cloud Gallery does not upload any of your files to the cloud. It only indexes whatever you have on Dropbox, GDrive, FB, Flickr, only after you have agreed to link to those sites. If you see photos found by Cloud Gallery, those could be uploaded by Dropbox or GDrive automatically. You need to check their settings. Again, Cloud Gallery is a "read only" indexing service.
Started getting the same notification since the last few days -- and the worst part is that there doesn't seem to be a setting anywhere in the gallery app or in the system settings allowing to configure this "Cloud Sync" or turn it off all together.
And now I really don't know if my pictures got "synced" somewhere in someone's cloud Really annoying. Uninstalled the gallery app altogether with Titanium Backup root uninstall.

I have the same issue. Haven't found a solution yet but I wanted to let you know that freezing/uninstalling gallery will stop the cloud syncs but there are side affects.
I froze it and all seemed normal until I tried to set a contact image. Freezing gallery somehow disrupted the ability to link images to contacts. I tried it from within the contact app and through a third party gallery app and it wouldn't work either way. I had to defrost the HTC gallery in order to set the contact image.
There maybe other side affects but that was the only one that I ran into.
