Short-list best Galaxy Note accessories - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Accessories

Dear forum members
I'm the least qualified to make this short-list and if anyone more competent would care to open a new thread on this subject or add your suggestions bellow then please feel more than welcome to do so.
As I'm new to this forum I'm unable to provide any links or pictures.
Without further adieu here is imperfect short-list:
Case: Case mate tough galaxy Note - release date mid January
Temporary case for the mean time: NILLKIN TPU CASE COVER - Ebay china import £7.33 Estimated within 11-23 working days
Can anyone recommend an affectively disposable ebay case for under £4 until case mate is released?
Screen Protectors: Martin Fields Screen Protector - Mobile Fun £12.95
Cheap Screen Protectors: atFoliX FX-Clear Invisible screen protector - Amazon £6
Cost effective charging dock: Dual Desk Dock for Samsung Galaxy Note - Mobile Fun £19.95
Sales pitch: Keep your Galaxy Note and spare battery fully charged with this Dual Desk Dock.
-I don't know if using anything other than a Genuine Samsung Galaxy Note Battery charger may cause damage?
Alternatively:
1:Original Samsung Galaxy Note Holder and Battery Charger - expansys £14.99 or Amazon third party £10.96
2:Original Samsung Desktop Dock for Galaxy - Amazon £30
There may be better prices else where but given the high percentage of fake goods on the market Amazon direct seems like the best bet for the following:
Samsung Battery for Galaxy Note - Amazon £19.99
SanDisk microSDHC 32GB Card class four - £29.00
I've heard that class four is apparently better in terms of performance and that Sandisk have good reputation but one wonders if it'd would be better to use a Samsung make?
In my opinion the pricey leather-ate type cases are less than optimal protection but from what I have seen this is the best looking one:
Zenus Samsung Galaxy Note Masstige Stripe Print Diary Series Brown - MobileFun £29.95
Disclaimer I've featured MobileFun extensively here but can't vouch for their trustworthiness.
And as many of you can see this thread is biased in favour of the UK for this I apologies.

This has to be a record for me,
I'd understand if people here knew me personally but for complete strangers to find me this obnoxious within such a small time scale.
Perhaps it's time for some deep self-contemplation?
Na I'll just get pi##sed on Captain Morgan's Rum again & watch reruns of buffy.

Thanks man

Thanks. Interesting list and a good starting point for discussion.

Replacement battery covers

So I wonder if companies might start producing replacement battery covers for the Vibrant and Galaxy S? It seems that since the Vibrant is exactly the same size as the international Galaxy S they would be compatible if they existed. Given a major complaint about the phone is the cheap plastic feeling you'd think there would be a nice market for more premium battery covers. Sure one could just put on a case but for those who like their phone as slim as possible this might be a good option. Hopefully if enough people agree here some company will see there is demand and produce them.
check the link to the samsung accessories page in a thread a few posts down - samsung offers them for quite a few of the earlier high end models, including ones for extended life 2400 mAh batteries, so there's no reason they won't for the Vibrant or i9000

samsung other accessories

Hi,
I think we talked about the cases a lot. .. at least for the current being that are the cases....
What about other accessories?
Share your most used? Or special ones...
Something that will reach our experience with the tablet....
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
No other interesting? Even those that were used for old note 10.1?
Sent from my SM-P600 using Tapatalk
It's bizarre, I have no idea what's going on with Samsung's accessory division this time around.... Barely any Samsung branded accessories a month after release for both the Note 10 and Note 3. They are slowly starting to trickle out if you're willing to hunt them down. But i still don't understand it, accessories are huge money makers, I can imagine how much they're losing out to cheap amazon and ebay case guys.
Good point! i would say great point!
I see it as integral part of service or support - whatever....
Missing it - is just missing quality !!
anyhow - other ideas even form eBay Amazon DealExtereme, aliexpress... and additional china made...?
Wow, it's already December and still no decent protective case for this tablet. This sucks as I cannot use this in my line of work without a protective case as I am always out in the field. I guess you can't blame 3rd party manufacturers as there are too many variations that comes out that they cannot recuperate from their investment.

Fake S-Pen

I lost my s-pen recently for my SM-P600 so I ordered a replacement. It was quoted as being a EJ-PN910BWEGWW.
However what has arrived does not appear to be this.
1. No box - the picture of that part number is like this http://www.fonejoy.com/official-sam...ite-2in1-stylus-pen-inductive-pen-note-4.html (this isn't the site I ordered from) . Instead I got just the pen in a bag in an envelope. I have heard of retailers removing packaging to save delivery cost.. but read on ...
2. Pen flexes - as soon as I picked up the pen, it feels different to an official one (from memory of 2 weeks ago!). It flexes, and indeed even the button mid way down starts to come apart.
3. Pressure Sensitivity - it isn't. I use pressure sensitivity to draw/write. I've used the note range for 3+ years. This pen is NOT pressure sensitive. It draws with one pressure only rather than the 256/512 of an official s-pen. I've tried in lecture notes (standard pencils, pressure sensitivity on) and s-pen
My conclusion is that this pen is a fake.
Can anyone advise other checks/things to look out for? anything I may have forgotten/missed on pressure sensitivity?
Do samsung take any interest in fakes & retailers? Ideally I'd like to report the retailer to them as suspicious - but not if it's going to take years of my life going through a useless customer service nightmare...
Note this was a mobile outlet in the UK that deals in online and I've used once or twice in the past for small things, not an ebay purchase. Why? because I wanted a proper s-pen back!
Meanwhile can anyone recommend a "known good" source of replacement s-pens in/to the UK. I was somewhat suspicious of many of the ebay sellers. the closest I've found so far is that site above, but no idea if they are reputable.
I won't mention the retailer yet...

Hi Nigel,
I certainly believe that you've gotten a fake. According to the ad you posted, the dealer promises satisfaction guaranteed. Try returning it, and if that falls, contact Samsung. By the way, did you order the right pen? You're right-If you ordered a pen for the SGN 10.1 (2014), it should be very solid and should function well.
Anyway, I don't know if this dealer delivers to the UK or not, but I've not I had any trouble with eBay. You might try them. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Blessings,

Replacement S Pen

Does anyone know or have recently purchased a replacement S Pen? I've looked on Amazon and the only one that came across as genuine supposedly has no pressure sensitivity, and on Ebay it's the same seller. Everywhere else has either stopped selling them or they're out of stock. I have the full sized S Pen to hold me over but the offset is annoying.
I'm in the U.S. also
I got one from Ali. Works as original.

I've gone through quite a few of these third party replacents. Not one of them had pressure sensitive or replaceable nibs as the original. Contacting Samsung is a waste of time, as they prefer you to buy a new tablet when the pen dies.
Seriously, I went to an "offficial" parts website for Samaung S-PEN replacement. I couldn't even get a PART NUMBER from the site. IMHO, Samsung is leaving such sales in the hands of the very poor quality fakes selling all over.
I LIKE my Tablet. But the ONLY way I would buy another one with the S-Pen (which I love) is if the store I bought it from could prove that they could GET Spens, by sellingme a spare at the time! Samsung shuold maybe stop with the bajilion differnt models and SUPPORT the one time great products that they used to have.
Still want a working/not fake pen. ;-Deano
I feel your pain I caved in and bought a knock off on Amazon. It has pressure sensitivity but the nib is plastic and I feel like I'm scraping the screen everytime I write. It's the best we can get though :crying:

But I don't understand WHY Samsung actually REFUSES to let retail stores to carry them? They really seem to be pushing their owners support right out the door. It's not as if were so impossible to conceive of anybody losing a pen..
Who's writing THIS business plan...Trump? ;-Deano
I had the same problem. Tried to order an OEM from CompSource but turned out they were out of stock. Went for a knockoff. Its not bad, but its not good either. Sad that my Note is still very usable but the lack of a decent replacement stylus may force me to find something else.
If you like to use pressure sensitive s pen, you can purchase an s pen of note 3, note 4 or note 5 but of course they are not attachable to device because of their shape.
I lucked out and found the Wacom Bamboo Feel on eBay. Not cheap, but very sweet. AND it was made for this tablet!! ;-DeanoD
i did a quick search on 2 sites in uk handtec and hyper-direct and both have what appear to be original pens for the p600 and tabpro. There is no mention of pressure sensitivity but they are only £8.00 so i may pick one up to see. Since i also have the note 3 i can use that pen in a pinch but it might not be a bad idea to have a spare anyway.
I just did a Google Search and found a bunch of knock-offs, but eight genuine ones for the Note 10.1(2014) were there as well. The real McCoy isn't cheap, costing anywhere from $29 to $16. The reason Samsung doesn't market them is inventory. It costs them too much to have pens for a long out of production tablet laying around.
It looks like genuine replacement S-pens for the Note 2014 can be ordered from here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/New...alaxy-Note-10-1-2014-Edition/32601677612.html
Not expensive, either, just $7.14.
Also, replacement S-pens are available on Amazon, in Canada and the USA.
Ebay is where I purchased mine - sealed bag - correct length of pen and replacement tips - which my original pen did not have. Very pleased. Cant post a link not enough posts. Seller was tech-24-2.
I also got the samsung Spen with Erasure from another dealer - used with a further 5 tips - that with my note4 means I have 15 spare tips - yipee a lifetime worth.

What is samsungs stand on 3 party accessory's ?

Anyone thought what Samsung should do with all the 3-party accessory's that now Samsung rendered useless?
All the accessory's that are Note 7 unique like cases and so on is kinda useless now, is it to much to as for the money back from the 3-party seller or is this Samsungs thing to deal with?
Would assume Samsung should take the fall for third party accessories when you consider it was their choice to stop production all together.
Boy not only does this cost Samsung a fortune on the note 7 alone I could just imagine of they have to fork out money to pay back people who have purchased 3rd party accessories.
I have a feeling 3rd party developers for the phone will want to take Samsung to court as well considering the amount of money they stand to loose as well.

I can see a lot of unhappy accessory makers
As for us poor buyers ...
Samsung UK have told some callers no refund ...others have been told its in the decision process by Execs as to "if" get refunded for 3rd party accessories
I doubt they will refund myself
This is a long shot. But Samsung could design their new phones, Galaxy S8 or Note 8 with the exact same dimensions.

Never going to happen. They will want to get away from everything associated with the N7 now!
Which is why I said, long shot.
It is more likely Samsung will introduce a radical new design to have a distinct difference from the Note 7.
I guess the consumers that are affected the most are the frequent flyers, who travel a lot, especially for work. This is an unnecessary hassle for them. So a new design is almost necessary.
I am outside my Return period on Amazon for the 1) Galaxy Note 7 Screen Protector (2-Pack), PEMOTech® [PET Full... 2) Galaxy Note 7 Case, Spigen¨ [Liquid Crystal] Ultra Thin Premium... and 3) Galaxy Note 7 Case, Spigen¨ [Slim Armor CS] Card Holder [Gunmetal]...
Now what?
Yeah I bought two cases from spigen during launch

You eat it...
I'll be eating 2 wireless chargers, 3 cases and one unused screen protector...
All the additional USB-C cables ive purchased can be used down the road.
Ourselves aside... I was just thinking of all the companies that made accessories for this phone.
- mucho writeoffs this tax season

This is a nightmare for Samsung. I have over $200 in cases and accessories (case junkie I am) and just saying eat it is not helping their image at all. They have to make it right somehow.

Hey I get it....
My cases and screen protector are out, but the wireless chargers will become useful again.
I'm not abandoning them over this... sh*t happens, but i'm taking a timeout for now.
I bought a LG G5 to use until I see what Pixel and possibly the v20 can do.
* and if any bugs pop up *cough*
This is a lesson to stop with all the impulse buying we do when we get a new phone lol
Ironically my Gear VR arrived in the mail today and I can't use it.

Your sense of entitlement is not the same as being entitled.
You chose to buy the accessories. They were optional and if you did not buy them from Samsung, it is ridiculous to expect to get refunded for them.
I am €100 down myself and the device never even got to be released here. Its my fault for buying accessories in preparation for the Note 7. But I would not 'expect' Samsung to somehow refund me for them because it will never be released now.

Not arguing with you as we all are in the same boat but hardly calling it impulse buying. My phone is expected to last for than a month so I buy accessories to go with that. Samsung owes their Note 7 owners more than a sorry your loss - here's $25.
How many cases did you purchase? Having one or two is understandable, but if you have dozens then perhaps there is a bigger problem lol
I did get my $25 credit (actually $50 as I have two Note 7s)
Maybe I have the problem....... :silly:

I thought you would get that only if you switched to another Samsung phone, like the S7 or S7E?
---------- Post added at 11:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:48 PM ----------
Anyways, let's see... 2 wireless chargers, 4 high end leather cases (like Spigen and some other brands), 3 Samsung OEM cases (LED, S-View clear and S-View kickstand), 2 screen protectors (originally 3 but the previous recall only gave me back 2) and 2 extra USB-C cables. I am unsure what the total is, but easily over 300 bucks... that's lost, I cannot imagine Samsung or AT&T refunding me any of that. I do believe they should, at the very least the Note 7-specific items (so the cases and screen protectors) but, yeah, let's get real... "you didn't buy it with us, so too bad"... and the third party vendors will be crazy to allow returns if you're outside the window, I'm sure they have enough loss from this as well. I wont be getting the 25 bucks either (or in my case, 50 since it's two phones in my care) since I wont go to the S7 or Edge.

I contacted Amazon via chat this morning and they allowed me to return all Note 7 associated accessories purchased from late July to now for a full refund. This included screen protectors, cases, cables, selfie stick, game pad, gear vr accessories, and last but not least a car mount. Most items were doubled since I have 2 Note 7s that will be reluctantly returned very soon.
Best buy is also allowing the return of all accessories purchased too.
The only thing I will not be able to get reimbursed for are the various Slickwraps also purchased.
How could case companies sue Samsung? If i personally decided to start manufacturing something for a product hoping to piggy back off another companjes product then that company stops making the product, on what grounds do i have to sue? Unless those companies are directly licensed by samsunf to manufacture cases for them, then all they are doing being opportunists and capitalizing off Samsung ... I highly doubt these companies pay samsung royalties to mold these phones and then build a company off their devices,.so again why would samsung be liable? And why should Samsung pay you for your 3rd party purchases?
I myself have about 30 cases for my Note 7. 2 of which are Official cases, I'm positive ill eat the 3rd party cases, and I HOPE samsung will refund me the LED and Keyboard case price, but that's even questionable. This is the chance you take I guess.

Nice! Guess I'll be starting a chat soon. I just calculated my covers alone cost almost 200 USD, so it'll be worth sending them back if I can't use them anymore.
