Just incase you guys didnt know.
If you've done crossix mod then this deal is even sweeter cause more games will show up in the market. Make sure you give him proper thanks.
Must be rooted to do his mod. Give Brendan proper thanks as well.
GAME ON!!!!
Bought 9mm and Order and Chaos ( play O&C on the iPhone too.) Gotta admit I am really diggin 9mm

If you don't want to do the fix. Buy the games online and e-mail Gameloft with the order number and they will send you the A500 apks. Usually the same day from my experience, however I imagine they are gonna be kinda busy with the 99 cent sale.
I've done this twice already when I bought games on my phone that weren't available for my tab. They have great customer service, unlike E.A. (eff them)
EDIT: Speaking of which here is the direct link they sent me to download Asphalt Adrenaline HD - http://dl.gameloft.com/cm/t0/0rz0eYrFw33/Asphalt6Adrenaline.apk
So if you purchased that game just download from the link above. It still checks the market to see if you bought, so no stealing.
I am trying to buy the games online but it won't let me; it asks for my phone info .
I am not rooted but really want some of the gameloft games. Is there any other way?
You'll have to root and do the build.prop change I posted a while back to find more games.

Yeah I was afraid of that... Seems like since these are selling fast now GL would get off their butts and make the games available to this platform. Oh well, guess my options are wait or root...

No harm rooting or doing crossix buildprop mod. It doesn't unlock bootloader. I'd do it now just so you have the games now in case you end up with another device later. You won't regret it. Follow the links I posted.

One thing about my device id mod is that it breaks the update function. It sends mixed signals to acer and acer responds with an invalid device type error (when looking at logcat) which is why I haven't posted this mod in the dev section. In order to use the update function you'd have to change the build.prop file back to origional.
The auto updater (and manual) will be completely broken until you restore the original build.prop.

I tried the Manual Updater several times today with your mod, and it seems to be working okay, I just get the usual "Your device is up to date" message. Which brings me to another question, why isn't the US seeing all these updates hitting the rest of the world?

It'll act like its checking for an update but its sending acer invalid data. You wont see the errors unless your looking through the logcat data. So it'll always show "Your device is up to date".

Oh, okay, got ya. I have the games I wanted from Gameloft, including MC3 which I bought today for 99 cents, so I may just load up my backup build.prop, though it looks like it may be a while before we see any updates in the US.
If you use the origional build.prop, the gameloft games wont run. They'll give an error "unsupported device" (it's dumb of gameloft to limit their games per device, but they do)...

Hmm, so is there a way to get them to play while still allowing Acer updates to come through? I guess it's not a big deal, you can always apply updates manually.

Which I think is ok til ICS starts rolling out. Nothing wrong with the 3.2.1 update.zip I posted that I see any reason to really enable updater for me just to get an official 3.2.1 from acer. I'd trade being able to DL more apps and games over that. Again til ICS comes around then ill switch it back. And again thanks for your contribution crossix.

Thats weird. Can you go to www.market.android.com on your tablet and go to the game you just purchased and it should list your compatible devices you can install it to. Do you see a500 on the list? If you dont you might not have done the mod correctly. If it does recheck the lines you edited in build prop. You mightve missed a character.

now working on evo!!!
my friend said the market had the blockbuster app accidentally for a couple hours then they pulled it...saying it is not ready for other carriers yet...but he said it downloaded, installed and even worked!!!! (although, he said it force closes often and the quality doesn't seem that great) ...i am trying to get it from him, but it may take a while ...he is a noob trying to figure out how to get it and send it. any tips for him?? (we are going to try titanium backup)
I downloaded it yesterday and deleted it 10 minutes later.
All download links of the blockbuster app have been removed

" DOWNLOAD FAILED" ...No compatible profile available for download. My profile in the app is set at portable...but i must need some droidx permissions or something
Is there anyway to pull the permissions from the DroidX dump?? I have the original blockbuster app from that, along w/ the rest of the dump but have no clue where to look for the additional files that may be needed to install so it thinks i am on a droidx...if this is even possible.

Still shows incompatible, but I think it's due to using 241 dpi. I've tried the hack of changing to 320, clear market data, disable market updater, reboot, accept market license, revert back 241 and reboot. Still get the "not compatible" message.

yeah buddy!
I was asked to stop by and clarify the situation, so here goes.
Assuming that a member meets the requirements for posting paid applications, we have a forum dedicated to just that purpose. However, because this app is of no use to anyone without a Galaxy Nexus, it would be best served in the GN section of XDA.
That being said, this was an exception granted after review, and does not open up other members to do the same.
I'm not sure if this has been talked about or not.
I tried to search & came up empty.
I recently switched from EC05 Bonsia to CleanGB MTD.
I am trying to put the finishing touches on rebuilding the phone & when I tried to used SamsungApps it wouldn't connect, says no network connection.
Does this program no longer work under Gingerbread?
Or is there a newer version?
I restored a backup from EC05 (I know BAD!!) that's all I had for that app.
Looking at Samsung's site it looks like the Epic is no longer supported.
Anyone have any input
just keep trying, i had the same issue. and it worked on wed.

Are you guys getting a bunch of what looks like full games in there but they say for SGSII only? I wonder if there is anyway to get those running...
Does anyone have the apk for the SamsungApps that works for our phone?

Yes, I can see several I'd like to try, but it wil not download them because it says for SGS2 only.
The game is in the market for the Epic so if there is a way to get it to start the download they should work, I would think. Samsung wants everyone to get the new product.
Anyone have any ideas on how to trick the SamsungApps into downloading these?

Angry birds & Seasons, and Riptide are full add free versions.
NFS Shift and Bejewled are 60minute trials (lame). Post if you find any more full titles.
As for the sgs2 games, I'm thinking a build.prop hack might allow those to install but I haven't had time to try yet. Basically just like how a bunch of us got 50gig box accounts for "LG phones"

haha np... i doo search threads you know.. and when i cant find the answer... i post threads like these...
i even tried renaming my build.prop to 2 other sprint phones that wallet is available on..... still gives me a UNSUPPORTED DEVICE OR NETWORK error and closes on me.. soo theres gotta be something else to it other then renaming the build
ive been waiting for this update for awhile where google wallet will let me use any credit/debit card instead of just keep reloading my prepaid card... theres gotta be a way to get this working
Here is how I got it working:
1: Change build.prop lines to
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
2: Flash the Tmobile wallet zip found in the other google wallet guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1194288&d=1342133553
3: update wallet from the play store and open it.
4: set up and everything should work!
NOTE: Do not change build.prop back it will break wallet!!!!
EDIT: seems to be working fine after changing the build.prop back but I haven't made a purchase yet.

For me, running CM9 Nightlies, anytime i flash the wallet "fixes" it removes the NFC option completely for me. So, i can't even finish the activation... testing this method out, will report back...
EDIT: Ok, so using the "Tmobile Fix" didn't work for me, like i expected. BUT what did work for me, is, change the build.prop info like previously stated (Google Nexus, yakju, maguro) reboot, then update from marketplace. And it allowed me to add my debit card. Although it says "Unsupported device" up at the top, but it still let me open it and add my bank card. Will find out when i try to buy something...
So why would wallet not support all devices now that we can add our own cards?! Is this something that will officially change as more models will be added to list of supported devices? I really don't want to edit the build.prop as i am sure a few other things will break.

I read the "Unsupported device" message, and it was basically saying, that because we're using rooted devices, and unsupported, our credit card information may not be as secure as a fully functioning proper device. I think....
So I was able to get the updated Wallet working using the Galaxy Nexus build.prop settings.
However, I have yet to make a transaction, so I can't say that it "fully" works.
Also, I'm running CM9 and not stock, so I'm not sure if that will make a difference.

Gameloft games are made for maximum profit, they're the EA of mobile gaming. They forced their employees to work long hours, while this is the norm for gaming industry, 120hours a week has been quoted. They have poor users policy as well. They will purposefully make older games incompatible with newer devices or take them off the market even though you purchased the game and the device can run it, to promote their new ones. They originally charged 99cents for Asphalt 8, but the game is designed as free to play, as in you play for long hours to gain points/money in order to progress or upgrade and utilize in game purchases that way, milking more money from its users that way.

Try disabling AdBlock or Ad-Away. I was also mad about this and the problem was a hidden AD on top of the Menu.
The game is stuttering on kit kat 4.4 builds, the car seems to going back on high velocity. Wierd.

Really? Well thank you for the advice and info but i will certainly not disable my ad blocker for a paid game to show me ads i haven't had before. Also disabling is not that easy in my case since the ad blocker is included within my ROM (ARHD for HTC One). In order to disable it i would have to completely reflash it which i'm also not going to do just for this insolence on the part of Gameloft.
In what way is this even legal procedure by Gameloft making me pay for a game first and patching it to unplayability with an unrestorable update later on?
You have to add *gameloft* to the host whitelist, and everything will work.
