Hello,
this has alredy been disoused here
escecially when connected to power it would be very helpful if the default screen orientation for the kindle fire would be rotated by 180°.
For the Display this could be easily done by changing ro.sf.hwrotation to 90 but to ajust the touch screen a patch is needed.
Rom Developpers: could you please consider this for future builds
Thanks a lot.
I sent you a pm reguarding this. The feature is on cm7 so a dev has already taken care of it.

I am searching for an app to toggle the screen on and off when you rotate face down or turn reverse portrait (or even shake the unit possibly).
I have been using MobileMagic to do just that, but it's not completely stable and I don't use any of its other features.
I had hoped that Gyrator 2 would do it, but it only offers screen off, not screen toggle.
Any suggestions?

Or should I move this request to,
xda-developers > General discussion > Development and Hacking ?
I Would love that too, only I would like the screen to lock instead. As do you, I've been using MobileMagic for that, but it is unstable and for rotating applications I'm using FlipIt now (since it is included in Dutty's ROMs)
Search for g-trigger on xda, it as a screen on/off toggle action that you can set to a specific shaking. Hope it help.
Try this
it`s Ccalled ChangeScreen.....

My HTC Desire suddenly decided to stop allowing me to rotate the screen to landscape from portrait earlier. Really annoying as it means I now have to use the portrait keyboard rather than the landscape one and have to view all webpages/videos in portrait too..
However apps that rely on the accelerometer such as Teeter work perfectly.
So is this a hardware or software problem?
Thanks for your help
This may be a very simple problem to solve cos I've experienced the same thing. Dont forget that the desire only rotates Anti-clockwise, so the buttons are on the right.

Have you checked that the orientation setting is checked in Menu->Settings->Sound & Display?

Is there an app that has the ability the give us a fancy screen rotation? Back when I first had a Hero....I remember there was an app that gave us a fancy screen rotation, instead of going from portrait to landscape with no smoothness.
Just curious if someone knows something I don't....or if an app developer wants a good idea for a cool app that is not currently available
Hello,
Could you please advise me on keeping the lock screen orientation in landscape on CM10.1 nightly... I have my friend using P3100 RC2, where it works with display rotation with 90 degree. Please assist me on this..
Thank you.
It's very inconvenient to use my phone when lying on bed. I sometimes switch between landscape view and portrait view but I can't turn on the g-sensor auto rotation because what is "down" in my view is actually horizontal. Are there any "intelligent" rotation toggles that can calibrate the "ideal" gravity direction and automatically rotate the screen to fit the user's view?
PS: Technically, I think the compass is also needed to perform this function.
Same here. I switched off auto rotation and can now easily use it when laying in bed.

Use the rotate app from market. It's great, can force rotation if app normally doesn't too.

So you rotate manually when lying in bed? I think it's technically possible to make a software that rotates automatically after the user point out the ideal "down" direction.

A solution to offset the rotation +-90degrees would be nice

I've just made an app to solve it. See
