I am on cm7. And for some reason my 4g wont connect. So I was wondering if I flash a sense rom update my prl and then flash back will the updated prl stick? And would that fix the issue? Any help is appreciated.

The update will stay. But first download 'rsa key checker' from the market and make sure your 4g keys are still intact
We're comin from a pure power source.
Ok so it told me my key is missing. How do I fix that?

Restore a previous nandroid backup you made which might gt key back or follow -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7028037&postcount=1
and more info at http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ved-missing-wimax-keys-update-first-post.html
Yea, you can flash a sense rom and update prl, and it will stick after flashing back to cm7, however prl has nothing to do with 3g or 4g, just roaming. If your wimax keys are lost, follow the directions above and hopefully you have a backup of your wimax keys somewhere.
Yeah I just went back s-on and am getting the phone replaced thru Sprint for the 35. For some reqson my computer doesn't work well with adb. It 6 years old.

Did you back up your rsa wimax keys? What rom are you on? Why don't you hit up the market and download the free app "rsa key checker" to see if you still have 4G.

I fixed it by flashing a new ROM and wiping all the data!
Someone please help! I don't know what to do!
Nevermind, I think I fixed it!
I fixed it by changing the band to GSM Preferred/GSM ALL but now I only get E. Any way I can get back 4g?
Change it back to automatic or Odin kl1 modem from rootzwiki team kang post.

I changed it to auto, and i'm getting signal. Time to check if 4g. Thanks.
EDIT: It shows signal, but Im not getting any. Can't send text or browse web. Time to odin modem.
I flashed it, and I went to settings and looked at the network mode: It was GSM only. I changed it to auto mode. It seems to still get and send texts, and I looked at band selection with the dialer code, and there wasn't a star besides anything. I think it might've worked, but I still only get e.
By flashed I mean odined. Lol

I tried changing it to automatic in the band selection menu, and it showed signal, but texts didn't send.

Also, if it means anything, I can't change it to wcdma only in settings.

I had same issue and this is how I fixed it.
disable data connection and switch your phone off, remove the back cover and remove sim card completely. Then re-insert sim card and turn your phone back on and it should ask you to re-enable data connection once it boots up.
let me know if this helps

I did this, but it didn't ask me to turn it back on, so I turned it on manually, and still only E.

Other phones receive 3G? Perhaps T-Mobile is servicing your area? This has happened to me but I had no control over it.

Weird. My issue was that I was testing a few of the skyrocket modems. After using Odin to get kl1 it worked again. Yeah i would sugeest resetting apn in wireless settings .

Here's what I did that messed with my 3G
I flashed skyrocket roms.
So what I did was wipe everything. Go to mounts and storage and format system. Then flash Juggernaut or any other rom you desire. Then you're done

Check the hboot version. There are different methods for each one.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA
i dont know how and the phone has no service yet if thats required its just an expensive game/mp3 player till i activate it
Its shown in the bootloader. Hit volume down and power button (while off) to get into it. I suggest you do a little research before proceeding. There are some good threads about rooting the inc2.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA
Thanks and what kind of research would you suggest. Like what should I search for on google? And does entering bootloader mess anything up or is it like recovery where I can just turn the phone off and on again and it'll be normal?
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
What model do you have if its 6.01.605.05 thats what I have and the tool downgrade vivow hboot .98 would not work I had to work around that and do it a different way.

Going into the bootloader doesn't do anything to the phone, you will see your version at the top. Use the volume button to go to Fastboot and then hit power button to select. Go to reboot to get out.
I typedHow to root the incredible 2 into Google and this is what came up. There isn't a whole lot of special searching that needs to be done, the info is there with just a general search.
Hboot version is 0.98.0000 and software number is 5.10.605.9 and its android 2.3.4 any help pointing me to a specific thread or something?
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
There is a downgrade .98 bootloader in android development thread. You will loose all your data to downgrade and achieve s-off.
Lose data as in phone data or all my apps and stuff?
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
Everything in your sdcard will stay but all your apps will be lost.
Your contacts will be restored after you sign in to your google account and it resyncs.
SMS + MMS will be lost also
Ok thanks for the help guys

Is anyone having this issue too? If my 4g is on, i can surf the Web, but now it won't update apps or download them. It stuck on waiting for network, but when i switch to 3g, download starts right away...4g not working for downloading or updating apps.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
It's been posted before in other portions of the thread. Nothing I can do besides the temp fix. Go to setting-manage apps- the find the play market and clear the cache then uninstall the update. You will have to do that every time you re enter the market under 4g
let me guess you are on a GB build possibly with a ICS modem? if so then you need to choose either one or the other. i was having the same problem recently and thats how i fixed it.

Guess again. I work for Sprint and brand new, never before touched phones are doing this out of the box.
But I have no idea why.

Just recently started having this problem. Google Play was recently updated, so I dont think it was our phones or Sprint causing the problem.

Yes your correct there is no real fix until they update the market again. or if you flash a ROM with a new Ics market then it should work fine.

I had the same issue, but can confirm the upgrade fixes it.
No matter what I do I cannot get 4g WiMAX to turn on. When i press the toggle it lights up for about 5-10 seconds then just goes back off. Never however does it scan and the icon up top never appears.
What can be wrong here? What can i do?
Everything else is working fine. I have tried flashing new modems, flashing new roms, odin tars for EL26, EL29, did a nandroid restore from a time when it was working, updated profile + prl multiple times. I just continue to get the same result.
Any help with this is much appreciated.
Happened to me also on a bad jb flash.
To fix this, flash it back to an Orginal el29 gb rom.
I recommend the caulkalin el29 rom

Odin back to Unrooted EL29 STOCK Rom + EL29 Modem.
If it doesnt work Stock, take it to Sprint and let them deal with the headache.
I would try clearing the Wimax CT back to default values under ##DEBUG#
There's two options. One clears the extensions to default which are the settings under the ##3282# Wimax setting people usually tweak with. And the other option resets the options on that Wimax CT screen. Forget which is which. Both options are at the bottom ODB Load Default and Load Default. Try doing both.

Thank you for your reply.
This is getting interesting...I did as you said and in the WiMax CT screen there are no values for anything...everything is blank. Not only that but both of the options for ODB Load Default and Load Default are darkened/grayed out and cannot be clicked.
Any additional help is much appreciated.

Where you playing around with any of the Wimax settings or did it just randomly happen? Go into Wimax extensions and start playing with the values switching them to a different value. But honestly it sounds like your Wimax chip is a goner.

I appreciate you taking the time Ray. I'll give that a shot. I wasn't messing with the settings at all, it just all of a sudden happened. I had flashed some different ROMs and was on Calkulins EL29 Rom when I noticed the issue.
I ended up asking a question in that thread about whether there was a 4g icon at the top when it was scanning because I never saw it. That's when I realized things were not right
