Looking for a purple modded dialer if anyone has seen one. I see a ton of blue ones. It is for my GF so a couple extra "Thanks" for anyone who has one for me to throw on her phone. Black buttons with purple gradient numbers would be awesome, thanks again.

Yeah Travis I think he said he modded the shake & bake mix to be purple. I will put credit in the OP like I did in the other threads where I took some icons and the dialer from your port. Thanks for your great work man!

Its all good bro... its not like it was intentional i just noticed it and realized that it was done wrong. I redid it so it wont look so cut and paste. No harm done
EDIT: just so he knows i still used his buttons but i just fixed it so there wasnt as much overlapping. I just didnt have the time to make new purple icons.

Thanks man. I will try it on her phone tonight. I made sure to give you credit for the stuff I pilfered for the Legendary blue theme and saw all the people you thanked in the Shake & Bake theme and thought it was just easier to thank you for the port...LOL.

She definitely likes it better. Thanks. How are you at editing 9.pngs? She wants to know if the blue background for the keypad can be changed to purple also and it looks like that one is a 9.png. I am going to try working with 9.pngs this weekend to change Legendary and ERA lettering to blue. Hope it isn't too tough.

Yeah I threw it together in about ten minutes. The buttons were pulled from a purple froyo theme I had put together. I believe I got the original button images from the erebos froyo port. I put them into the dialer from gitusum's ICS theme as it was the only gingerbread dialer I had on my laptop. I realized after that the blue looked a bit odd. I then noticed your themed dialer had the same buttons. I was going to modify it tonight but you beat me to it. The changes definately make it look cleaner.

The .9 pngs are not that bad once you understand the concept. The guide below details the process. Remember when editing the decompiled .9 png's to make sure the edge pixels which define the stretching remain black or they will not compile. Also do any png compression before compling in eclipse. If you have any questions let me know. It took me a few tries before it went smoothly.

lol funny you would ask that because i was just practicing how to do .9.png lol I have been learning and am pretty sure i have it down pretty good but i havent had a the time to test it out. When i get home Ill post a video that helped me alot!! its simple and to the point

Could you use the "droid" font? I'm not sure what it is called exactly, but it came with a few roms on the OG Droid. It looked really cool.

What do you mean as a transparent image? The letters being transparent or another picture in the background?
Instead of black background a transparent background that allowed you design to take on the color of the page it is posted on...

I figured a thread with a different tone rather than the norm of a ROOT based thread would be a good way to switch things up around here. Kind of like a take away from the obvious.

I can take a look at it later in the week, but if I remember correctly, porting the dialer from the evo to the epic takes a lot of messing around since they are in different apk's in each device.

Like just the images on our dialer replaced? or the actual apk ported over?
images should be easy I looked at the pngs and what not earlier this week

I've extracted the apk's and looking at them now. It looks doable, but the 2 htc apk's are not even close the the touchwiz apk's.
I'm going to build this to match crimson beast twframework. I've got the dialpad done except for the numbers still need son work.
Here's a quick and dirty of what I was able to do in about an hour. The numbers on the dialpad still need work, and then there are the twframework dependencies I need to match up.

i got one in the works. here's what i got done in about 40 mins... first test on my epic...
btw this is not the simplest of ports haha. :]
here's a preview. i've included a .zip flashable if you'd like to use it until i work out the tiny little kinks.
to fix:
1) Phone icon sucks. sorry.
2) pressed to change to red.
3) any of your suggestions
btw this is my first theme/port of an apk. hope you like.
its fully functional, and looks decent. ill keep having at it but you're more than welcome to flash this .zip!

Here are my transparent themed MMS apps. They took some doing, but I finally got them to play nicely. These can now flash over any Gingerbread rom on BML or MTD.
I couldn’t find any transparent Mms.apk to work on Epic Gingerbread for me and I really missed it from EC05. So, I’ve made it work on my own.
Feel free to incorporate any of these into Roms, but be sure to give thanks and leave a link to here so people know where to find more!

Blue & Gray is my fav too, but I would like to bring the gray down more to a blacker darker tone. The transparency brought me some difficulty. However, the coloring is easy to swap out, you only need to open the .apk with 7zip and change your bubbles of choice. Unfortunately, they're .9.png's and require extra steps to work with properly, otherwise I'd pump out a bunch more of these sooner.
Here is a quick theme I put together for BluRay by Master&Slave. It is based on the ICS look.
Instructions :
Make a backup!!!
Download BluRay.zip and place on internal sd card flash in CWM and enjoy!!

Hey dillym34, I do have a question to ask you. I've viewed and researched the "How to Theme" videos. I watched, but my poor weak hallow mind didn't grasp the information obtained. How can a make an all full black and white theme, (kind of like your white style dialer theme you made.) for Paradox LOVE ROM? is there a simpler way?

Dillym, I was wondering if you can restore the clock and possibly add a battery percent, then it will be complete. I tried adding M&S clock restore from his thread but it made the pull down bar white and messed with the theme. Thanks and appreciate the hard work.

This should restore the clock and keep the theme. As far as a battery mod i will see what i can do.
Just flash in CWM.

Thanks it worked perfect....This theme is simple but sleek and really runs with M&S's rom pushing it. I'm gonna stick with this till an official ics comes out but yeah if you can get that 1% battery mod going that would be great. Check your paypal I'm gonna send a couple bucks your way.

Edit: It's really not a big deal but I thought I'd let you know...The "Dismiss" in your notifications is blacked out now and moved from the bottom to the right hand side where it says "T-mobile"

I thought i would post this for everyone, even if it isnt a massive deal and probably not something most need... We were all noobs once, so if it helps someone get their phone a little closer to what they want... Or if it helps get someone into making a theme... Then i cant say having this up is a bad thing at all...
So its a simple MOD that will allow you to add your own holo dark images to any ROM... Yes, this will even work for those of you running a theme... Where you maybe don't like the holo dark image(s) used...
Simple instructions for a simple MOD...
- Download "MyBackground.zip" from here and save it to your computer!
- Download the "HoloImages.zip" from here and save it to your computer...
- Drag and drop the two images from "HoloImages.zip" onto your desktop and edit them however you like! (Id stay at 720x1280 or stock 500x500)

- Now open each Image and edit as you wish! I would recommend a simple program like GIMP or Paint.net to edit .png files...
- Once you have your image(s) just right, save them...
- Now open "MyBackground.zip" with 7-zip or WinRAR (WinfRAR seems to work better for VRtheme stuff)
- Go into:
Code:
vrtheme -> system -> framework -> framework-res.apk -> res -> drawable-nodpi
- Add your new images (it will override the current images)
- Once added, save "MyBackground.zip".... "As"... That means change the name of the zip and save it as a new file...
- Drop this into your phones storage and boot into recovery!
- Backup... Duh...
- Flash...
- Enjoy!
The absolute worst thing that can happen, is it simply won’t work... I suggest a backup, just because its a good idea... That said you really can’t even boot-loop if you follow the above... If the image(s) are named wrong, or the wrong file type... It simply won’t work... The holo background you had previous to a your flash... Will simply still be present..
NOTE: If your ROM had a transparent holo, this MOD will NOT break it... If you flashed a theme with a transparent level... Again this will NOT break it... Simply set your image(s) to the desired transparent level...

How it looks is completely up to you... All theme work is trial and error... What you think looks great on your laptop, may not look great in the background of your settings or dial keypad...
Here is a sample showing stock black... To a more Touchwiz blue... As i think this is where Samsung went wrong... A simple attempt to match their blue inside the background completely changes the look of Touchwiz... Its cleaner... Its vibrant... Its still classy...
But in the end, it really does loop back around to you as a user, and what you think looks good... I can post screen shots all day, and never once hit the mark with everyone...

Not quite your mod, but did tell me where the images for the background came from, which turned on the bulb on how to do this

Is there a way you could post the background image that you used in this screenshot? That looks simply perfect but my computer is out of service and I would love to use it for my note 2 background in settings
