I just recently flashed from Came to 4ext and noticed a small thing that irritates me cus I'm semi- OCD lol.
After I finished flashing, I cnanged my tomorrow to MIUI and after that I noticed that while in recovery it said what rom I was using but it was wrong.
States name of last rom.... any ideas?

What does it say the ROM is?? It should say something like Cyanogenmod-kang or something like that.

Occasionally when you flash a new rom without rebooting your recovery it will state the old one again, try rebooting your recovery and it should be back to normal. BTW what 4ext are you using? If you haven't already I recommend you install the 4EXT Touch 1.0.0.2 it's awesome.

@tylerlawhon yea it says the rom is cyanogen-kang. If that's what it's always gonna say then OK.
@dankblaze I'm running Classic v2.2.7.
What's so great about the touch version?

Well I'll state the obvious first, the Touch version is full touchscreen integrated so no more having to mess with the power and the volume buttons to get through the menus, the other great thing is that it's lightning fast, the last 3 roms I flashed only took about a 1 1/2 to 2 minutes to flash, wiping is just as quick, almost instantly done when you are either doing a factory reset or formatting partitions. It's still in beta but besides not being able to theme it everything works great.

Yeah, if making a backup from in the app and then it booting to recovery to back up, then you should be able to name it whatever. Or you can rename once you're booted back into ROM. If you haven't already, I'd recommend getting the paid version of the app.
Sent from my Mikrunny'd Superphone using Forum Runner
I'm not talking about naming the backup. If I could take a screen shot to better show what I mean. But it's all good. Yea I do have the paid app.

You can. Hit the search button and then you can go into tools and export screenshots. It's awesome.
As far as changing that, you can't. It's probably somewhere deep in the bowels of the filesystem of the ROM.

I know exactly what you are talking about, you mean that when you wipe an OS and flash a new one it still shows as the old one when checking info in the recovery. A reboot of recovery always fixed that for me, if it's not working for you I'm not sure what to recommend besides upgrading to 4EXT Touch Recovery it always adjusts itself after a reboot on the rare occasion that OS name problem happens. Trust me, you won't be disappointed either way.
OK yea we on the same page. I will try those and see if it works. Thanks much.

Many thanks, been away and couldn't see them for looking!
Sorry for coming up with such an old post.
- Is that still, today, the last RUU from HTC?
- If yes, are they 100% working methods to get root and S-OFF after flashing this?
- Will flashing this erase my recovery (CWM 5)?
Thanks!
I'm new to the Inc2 dev scene but am very familir with ROM's in general. I just unlocked my Inc2 using HTC's method posted today.
I like Sense but want OC and general ROM optimizations. Any Recommendations? I downloaded the Sabotage ROM and hopefully that's what I'm after until CM9 is in at least beta.

Well, sabotage is based on the stock ROM. If you're looking for higher sense versions, my personal recommendation is mikrunny.

Carbonite fusion deux is a themed version of the stock 2.3.4/2.1 Rom. It's one of my favs. It's smooth!
MikRunny 1.01 is a killer sense 3.5 Rom. The tweaks are awesome! It's probably my favorite sense roms. A lot of people hold this Rom in high regards. The Mik team puts out good stuff.

Currently installing Milk. Stuck at HTC white screen at the moment. Is a kernel included? I want to slightly OC and undervolt for battery life.
OC yes... UV I'm not sure. I OC to 1100 on mine and let er buck. The battery life is much better than stock, so I didn't mess with it to much.

Full wipe. Waited 20 mins on the HTC screen and pulled the battery and restored. Gonna download again and retry.

You're not s-off, that's your problems, that's whhy the mik Rom didn't work cause from what I gather u have to be s off to run anything other than stock kernels... Search the development section for the hboot downgrade tool then use revolutionary and u should be good to go man

i just installed MikRunny 1.0.1 and i am very, very happy with it. it's actually my first flash. i was content with my stock ROM, but was looking for that something extra. MikRunny is very fast and smooth, and i have zero issues or bugs thus far. it has my recommendation, as it it still feels stock, but that something extra is apparent, just what i was looking for. five thumbs up!

He wouldn't be able to have perm root without having s-off. And if he didn't have perm root then he couldn't flash a rom like sabotage. That wasn't his problem.
Depending on which EXT version the rom is running he'll need the superwipe zip that newt made. It makes sure that the correct partitions are wiped. Clockwork only wipes the default partitions.
EDIT: if he's still S-On he's always going to have problems in which case Jeremy is right. but it's more than just the kernel

Wrong. You can unlock without being s-off. S-off means security off. That means its not secured against bad radio flashes or something other than stock kernels. HTC unlocked but it still has security.

Hello to all that had taken time to read this I appreciate your help, today i have tried several roms, cyanogem mod 7 and 10, also a version of ICS that did not support the camera. I have found this thread on XDA developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846304
on that thread they also recommended this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923669
I have yet to learn on how to flash the firmware that would by my first question to you.
What are the steps to properly flash the firmware of my HTC Inc 2 ?
reading that thread I noticed that a lot of people had problems with wifi and data and some did not, Im willing to give it a try but what im looking for is a stable Rom for my device wich brings me to question #2
What is the best ICS mod available for HTC Droid Incredible 2 (vivow)
My recovery is clockworkmod 5.0.2.0, right now the phone is running the cyanogenmod 7.2, idk what other info would be useful but im happy to answer any questions
Read the op in the first thread you linked. It gives instructions on flashing firmware. And check the other which rom is best threads. This has been addressed numerous times.
