Hi, yesterday my HTC Desire HD fell out of my hand and the screen cracked, the problem is I can live with a crack, but my touchscreen doesn't work anymore, now my question is, what part is broken, the LCD Panel or my screen panel? Which part do I need to replace to make it work again?
Only the area within the red box works and the rest doesn't work.

How can I solve this, which part do I need to replace?
You need the lcd panel. It's glued to the digitizer so your best bet is to buy the lcd digitizer assembly and replace both parts in one go. Search youtube for instructions. Good luck.

I had the same problem with mine. Dog pulled it out of my hands and it cracked on the street.
Do you have ensurance? if so, Just contact HTC and they will send you a new one. Took me 3 weeks and got a brand new.
No, I don't have ensurance, and I don't think my 2 years Factory warranty covers this.
I looked at ebay, but I can't find which part I need to replace. Can someone help me finding the right part on ebay or an other website where I can order the part i need?
Thanks
I found this one, I'm not sure if it's the part pwraggcan ment, but if it is isn't there a cheaper one?

Well, I just ordered it for €45,- I hope it will arrive soon so I can use my beloved phone again

Coucou !
I'm desesparate as I need some spare parts I don't know where to find.
It is the two goldent nuts stucked in the bezel, as shown on the picture below, top-left corner and bottom-left corner.

I also need a speaker grid for my HTC Rhodium, as it is stuck in glue.
I don't know where to buy them, so if you know a site, I'll be glad to buy them these parts.
Thanks a lot.
I seriously doubt that you can buy these parts separately. You may have to either purchase a damaged device and salvage the parts you need or purchase the entire front bezel to get them. I have never seen them sold separately.
Coucou !
In fact, I HAVE to buy a new bezel, but the ones I saw were NOT sold with these parts, neither the golden nut (I hope it's the correct word!) nor the speaker grid.
But if you know where to buy a bezel with these, I'll be glad to buy these there!
By the way, thanks for your answer.
Why not try to get them from the website you got the image from? It seems the gold nuts are included in that picture. Otherwise, just purchase a defective device for cheap and swap the parts.
Coucou!
Ask for these to that russian website? I have to admit I didn't think about it...
Now, I did it and I'm waiting for their answer. I'll stay in contact.
Thanks for the advice
So if I wanted to replace it, would i replace the LCD screen itself or the digitizer? Not sure as the photos of where I can buy both of these items do not make it very clear which part I need.
MOST phones are just the glass itself. LCD Digitizer is the LCD display this is like this

but many phones the digitizer is attached to the glass(My Galaxy S 4g) I would just recommend going to your local flea market and look for a phone guy. They're the cheapest.
Depends how much it´s scratched, but general is just the digitizer.
That's what I thought. The LCD screen is a tad recessed for it to be the top of the screen... now i know for future reference
Wow you hardly broke it :$

Are you sure it's not the shatter-resistant film that's scratched? It can be removed, and the screen won't scratch as easily (just try not to drop the phone if you do)
That would be it, the only thing i ever removed from my screen was the thing plastic protector that all devices have on their screens now.. Thanks!
HOLY SH*T!!!!!!!!
Ur poor phone...when i see it i thing it is better buy a new one or insurance...
Hi guys,
My Verizon G3 took a dive out the car window and needs help. I bought a replacement screen, and I believe it probably works, but I'm not getting any image. I then noticed that there is a small component on the board that is broken. I was hoping someone could help me identify the part number. It is a small black piece right above the battery and below the ambient light sensor. I found the G3 service manual, and it says the part is U7303, but I am unable to find that anywhere, so I hoped there might be a number on the component itself that I could look up. Thanks for any help you can give!

Hi,
i think you will not get this part anywhere to buy, because it is integrated on motherboard. I recommend you to get a new motherboard or to find a broken G3 with working motherboard.
This is my choice good luck.

Yeah I think that's my option at this point.. I did find a snippet that refers to U7303 as a fixed positive LDO regulator, rp103k121d-tr part number, but there's not really anywhere I can buy that from without going in bulk lol.

Ohh, and I'm tired of the update available prompt (rooted with custom kernel)
Want to go back to stock, and flash 6.0. But had two drops that damaged the corners and moulding holding the screen. Screen itself is fine, but worry that it will separate in time.
Just filed claim with Square Trade (bought at Staples), and their recommendation was to send me a check. Not sure how much?
I did have epoxy on one corner, but it chipped away. Need a more solid repair.
Any good source for parts? And how hard of a self repair?
What about sending g back to ASUS for repair?
Thanks for comments....

From the videos, it looks like the broken bezels are part of the front housing. But it also looks virtually impossible to separate the screen/digitizer from that without damaging it. I think this full assembly would be much easier.
Now what would be cost to send to ASUS, or to just get my check and apply a few more dabs of epoxy?
Does it really matter?
Mines chipped at three corners. Granted only one is as big as yours, but its working fine.
Yeah...works fine. But could look better. Was thinking it could degrade over time and effect display.
Squaretrade said to send it to them for $239 refund. Just had to order an Asus charger for $10 to include with my return.
Hello. I need help urgently.
By the end of august, my phone's screen stopped giving image. I was playing and all of the sudden it lagged and turned pitch black. I took it to a technician and they told me it seem an LCD problem. I replaced the screen but that also didn't work. I replaced the LCD flex also didn't work. Lastly I bought another motherboard thinking that would fix everything but also did not work. The weird thing is that it does the charging sound, the touch sound when I place my finger on the screen but it just doesn't give any image at all. I don't know what's wrong and the technicians around my place couldn't be able to help me. I have some photos of the replacement parts I bought which work but don't give any image, just sound when I touch the screen.

This one is the LCD main flex replacement I bought, its the same as the original, a KLE-A0 . Tested before shipping it works.
This one is the 2 replacements screens. The one above is an LCD screen (stopped working suddenly) and the one below is an AMOLED screen. Both tested before shipping, supposedly work. (giving the sound but no image).
Replacement motherboard I bought less than 3 weeks ago, original. Also works. Tested before shipping.
I really don't know what to do, I have spent months trying to fix this. Please help me. If you need more info, I will gladly give out more details if neccesary.
