Got an EVO for my wife, rooted it. She wants to keep it stock, but wants more space. Can I use a2sd on a stock root, or do I need to flash a stock rooted Rom that supports a2sd.

I would flash a stock rooted rom. I had trouble with getting root apps to work with the rom that I rooted myself. Then as you flash the rom flash the darktremor a2sd beta 4 and you should be good to go. Make sure to make a .5-1gb ext3 partition on her sdcard with amon-ra 2.3 recovery before flashing it tho

If your card is already partitioned you can use an app called 'link2sd' it works well on roms that don't have a2sd baked in and you don't need to flash anything. Its not for some people but its an option.
We're comin from a pure power source.

Hey guys. Anyone know howto delete a kernel from your phone? I just tried with astro and then rebooted but software info still says I'm running kings #5. Any suggestions? Thanks

Back up your existing setup,
d/l another kernel to your SD card - compatible w/ ROM you are using
boot into recovery, wipe Dalvik
flash new kernel from SD card - read notes for error(s) in CWM after kernel flash/install before reboot
reboot
check which kernel is running
Note that not all kernels work with all ROMs - certain AOSP ROMs require AOSP kernels, same story w/ Sense ROMs.
What if I just wanted to return to the stock kernel?

Yesterday I installed a ROM for the first time. Today I would like to try a different Kernel. How do I just install JUST the kernel ?

Kernels are flashed same way you flashed the ROM. Put it on your SD card, boot into recovery, wipe cache and dalvix x2, and install from SD card.
will i have to install the rom also all over again ?
No. You wont have to reinstall the ROM.

perhaps this will be of help. this is for CM6, but the steps are the same for Sense ROMs.

Make sure that if u have a sense rom, u have a sense kernel.. if u ever get bootloops just reflash the rom and the kernel will be replaced

Hello guys. I got a question. I rooted my phone a while ago and since I flashed to Myn's RL5 rom (which is the best rom I used anyway), I can't seem to do a nandroid backup and can't boot into recovery. Just wondering if I'm missing something or should I try to unroot and get another evo?
Thanks in advance.

Use rom manager off the market and flash one of the recoveries then try to boot into recovery and see what happens

what root method did you use? Did you flash a recovery during root?
At first, I was using the Clockwork mod recovery and that didn't work. But when I used the RA recovery everything worked out fine. Thank s

Amon RA is the best...backs up WiMax, which is more than RSA keys. Highly recommend to any rooted EVO

Did you go and actually flash A2SD in Recovery?
MIUI Supports it, as does every ROM as far as I know.
not looking for miui just 2.3.4+ with a2sd with aosp.... also in mikg its no need 2 flash its baked into the rom...
I use darktremors a2sd with decks. Just flash your Rom and then a2sd in same recovery session. It'll act like its bootlooping for a few minutes then start up like normal.
now working on 1.3d

I might be wrong, I have been using decks roms for weeks never had to set up a2sd, the last time I set up a2sd was on a sense rom and thats been months ago, on decks rom I just checked a box in the settings that said allow apps to be moved to sd card.

Goodmorning!
I have just switched back to stock rooted rom (2.3) with app2SD.
But with integrated app2SD I can only install a few apps, while before with other scripts I could install a lot of them!
Can I flash a custom app2SD script like m2SD, so I can move dalvik and data to SD?
Thanks for help!
