I'm having a problem where I can't seem to open google music. It worked the first day I got this phone but now whenever I click the icon, it just opens the last app I had opened. This also happens on my galaxy tab 10.1. It's really annoying because I really wanna listen to music but I can't seem to get it to open. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?
Have you tried going to Settings, Apps, Google Music and click clear defaults
I had the same problem until exiting out of all the apps it opened.

I have the same issue (4.01). Don't know what, besides a restart, can fix it, you can circumwent it with the music widget, though.

I was hoping someone could help me with the default media player when syncing via Bluetooth with a Ford Sync radio.
Im using CM9, and when I choose Bluetooth input on my radio, my Gnex automatically starts playing music with Apollo. Is there a way to remove that as a default option, or change the default to a different media player, like Pocket Casts or something else?
Any help would be appreciated!
** the launch by default option in setting/apps is greyed out and not changeable

Have you tried going into setting->apps->Apollo
And pressing clear defaults?
I have, no dice though... the "clear defaults" button is inactive.

you could try going into your system files and deleting the apollo.apk
Never liked that player anyways
So I deleted the Apollo apk, fixed that problem. Now when I sync via Bluetooth to my radio, Google music automatically starts playing. I have gone into app settings and tried to clear the defaults, but its still greyed out and not a changeable option...
Any other ideas?

Could always buy a tasker, I would imagine those settings are buried deep in a .dex file

Not seen this mentioned, probably because the US ones have it as stock.
As Play music isn't available over here, Google have frozen the app out on UK N7s. If you've got Titanium backup installed, just defrost "Sound Search For Google Play 1.0.1" and it will now appear in your widget list.
Obviously it can only be used for song identification, if you click the widget after it has identified a song it will just open a Chrome page letting you know that Play Music isn't available in your country.
It works extremely well, just as you'd expect from a Google search product

Just a note, the OS refreezes it when you restart the device which buggers up the widget. You just need to defrost it again and put the widget back on the homescreen

I've discovered it yesterday, along with Google Wallet, Books, Magazines and Video... All of these were frozen in my device.
Great stuff.
If your in the UK. Use a free us proxy server to sign into play music once. And you will have play music from then on

I used Spotflux to get onto Play Music on my PC (Lets you download Play Music uploader and use your 20,000 song allowance) but it still won't enable you to buy music from this widget.
Hi, I have a Galaxy Nexus i9250 and I have a problem to watch videos from Youtube (app or any browser). When I click to play the video, the loading icon appears and take a long time, so appears a message saying that the application must be stopped.
I tested with my older phone, a Galaxy i5800, side by side with the Nexus i9250 and near to my wireless router. On the i5800 the video plays quickly without problems.
In other apps or other websites, the connection to internet is absolutely normal. Somebody can help me with this question? I don't know what can I do to solve this.
Thanks.
Are you using a custom rom? Have you tried reinstalling gapps?

I'm using the original Android version, 4.1.1 (updated).
I can't reinstall it because it's a native app, but I undo the updates and re-updated the Youtube app, but the problem continues. Would I do some factory reset? How I did this?
I recorded a video showing what happening: youtube . com/ watch?v=wZrduL_Sw00
Try wiping the cache from Google play services and the YouTube app.

Hi, I'm using a Tmobile Galaxy S3 running stock rooted 4.1.2 and I have uninstalled the default music app from samsung because I don't like it.
I'd like to set Google's Play Music app as my default. I do have Amazon's MP3 Player because there are vouchers for free mp3s' every now and then.
The problem is that when I enter my car, bluetooth starts automatically the Amazon MP3 Player instead of the Play Music app. Same case when I plug in my headphones and press play it launches Amazon MP3 app. As of now I froze the app using Titanium Backup, but that is a workaround only.
How can I make the Play Music my Default music app?
Undefault the amazon app by going through settings and apps manager and unselecting default app.

At first I thought this will work but the app is not set to default.
Than that is weird lol. I don't use the app so I can't tell you on what to do. Never seen this brought up either, at least not in our section. It isn't an S3 only issue so you may want to try Googling it.
