Hi
I have just rooted my Xperia Play, everything is working fine, but in the notification menu the phone shows "(No Service)" despite the phone working and all calls are perfect.
Anyone know why it's showing no service ?
EDIT : It's showing my carrier now after I toggled 2g/3g in the Network Settings.

Got a Desire on Virgin Mobile, and it's missing the "Virgin" network details both in the top right-hand corner of the lockscreen (though I get the Emergency Call Only and No Service text) and on the pulldown notification screen.
If you go into Settings > About Phone > Status, the Network shows Virgin, and the APN's have been set correctly too. It's a minor thing as the phone works fine, just wondered if there's a fix/workaround. This happens on any Froyo ROM I've tried, but on 2.1 ROMS it shows this fine.
Hey Guys,
I've just rooted (only rooted, haven't flashed anything yet) my Galaxy Note 3 sm-N900T from TMobile (running android 5.0). I bought my unlock code online and unlocked it and put in my Cricket Wireless sim. It works, calls, messages etc. however, I have this little red phone icon to the left of the status bar that says "WiFi Calling Error. ER05 invalid sim". Also on WiFi I can browse, like the Playstore, for instance. But when I turn off the WiFi and try to use my data plan I get no Playstore, no browsing at all. I get messages like 'not connected to the internet' or 'no internet connection'. Has anyone dealt with this before? Or can someone please point me in the right direction to try and resolve these issues?
Hi there. Recently my Nexus 5X has something wrong with its communication function.
I am using CM13 nightly builds with ElementalX kernel on 4GLTE network. And everything works fine except:
When making calls, it ends up with "Network not available". However, the signal bar is full. Also, it is unable to send or receive any text message.
I have already tried:
1. Flash the latest factory image from Google(mtc19v). And it worked for a while then the issue recurred.
2. Dial *#*#4636#*#* and switch to "CDMA only" but it failed to make it, automatically rolled back to LTE mode.
3. Tried CM13 snapshot and other nightly builds, and still got the problem.
Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Try getting a new simcard from your carrier.

Thanks for reply. I will try ASAP.
OK. I have fixed it. This is the MOST weird and tricky problem I have ever met since I knew Android phones.
First there are some key concepts:
From the "*#*#4636#*#*" (Testing) menu -> Phone Information, we notice IMEI, Phone number, and Current Network. In my case I couldn't make phone calls or send/receive text messages, I got my IMEI and Current Network NORMAL, but I got NOTHING for my Phone number section, which means my phone turned into something without a number! So how can it be discovered by the mobile base stations?
Furthermore, scrolling down there are another 3 indicators: GSM service and GPRS service and Network type. In my case the GSM service was "Emergency calls only"(However there is someone on the Androidcentral Forum said his Nexus 4 under the same circumstance can't even dial 911), and I doubt that. The GSM service was COMPLETELY offline. On the other hand, since my data service ran smoothly thus the GPRS service is always "connected". The Network type is "LTE". I have tried many times to change it to the CDMA or GSM ones, like "eHRPD", "1xRTT", "EDGE" or sth else but few succeeded. Once succeeded, I can normally voice or text, yet on the outdated network.
Then how I fixed this:
I googled "Mobile network not available" and got many results about the Samsung phones. Then googled "mobile network not available nexus" and found this one "Mobile Network Not Available" on Nexus 4 T-Mobile which perfectly matches my case. Finally I thought it had something to do with my network provider and my phone should not be blamed. I just tried another SIM card from another carrier, which worked perfectly on LTE network with voice and text. When I opened the *#*#4636#*#* menu and tried to change "preferred network", the phone also worked smoothly no matter WCDMA only/GSM only/LTE only. I put back my bad SIM card and the voice and text came back!??? I was extremely confused. That is to say, still there was a problem on my phone. By inserting another SIM it just did something like refreshing the stucked radio module??? I wondered. After this simple trick I got my voice and text back though, the "Current network" became "Roaming Indicator Off".... Maybe the next time.
I am from the Philippines and I bought a used S6, when I checked model name in settings prior to buying it it showed SM-G920F. I wanted to update to 6.0 though so I looke up some stock roms on SM-G920F however I just keep getting an error. Thats when I found out, in download mode that what I really have is a SM-G920P which is locked to Sprint.
It recognizes my sim fine as I do have a signal but initially I cannot send a sms nor do I have a mobile data. I have resolved tthe sms issue by going to mobile networks in settings and flipping my preferred network from cdma/lte to automatic. That resolved my mobile data issue as well as I now have internet on my except but no hotspot or the mobile data icon in notifs.
Im ok with both functions usable now but my main problem is even if I do see a signal, I cannot ever make a single call. Once I dial a nimber it will show it is dialling then after a few seconds signal will go out and then dialling will stop with a message No sim.
Any tips? I am currently rooted and with the software version G920PVPS4CQA2. I have twrp recovery and busy box installed. I currently see SMART on the upper left side of my screen which indicates my carrier signal.
Badly need your inputs on this. Thanks in advance to all of you!
Attached a screenshot of my home screen. As you can see, SMART is indicated on the upper left of the screen which is my carrier. This means my sim is being recognized. But I cannot evwr make a call.
I flashed the U1 firmware with no carrier bloat, and I noticed that it loses service every now and then and I have to reboot to get it working again. How do I fix this? It's not my SIM card, because it works fine in my other phone.
The weird thing is, I'll still have data access, I just can't make/receive calls. Don't know if it affects SMS/MMS, though.
Now it's saying "emergency calls only" and "no network connection."
I think I fixed it. I flashed back to stock, currently going through setup but my network is connected with 3 bars and a 4G LTE symbol.
Nice to know people will help out here in this subforum....
