hi! im currently running cm7.2 nightly on 2.3.4 kernel. as far as i know, the green lens should not work this way, as its driver was excluded from defy+ roms. but once every boot when i start any camera app, the camera preview shows up, and then freezes, but not the app. when i try it again, nothing shows up, have to reboot to get the same result. my question is: how is that possible? i thought no drivers meant that the camera will not work at all.
Sent from my MB526 using xda premium
From his Github commits, Epsylon is working on a green camera driver (as a kernel module) for both CM9 and CM7.2 on gingerbread kernels. The reason the camera goes away quickly is because it doesn't work too well yet
Awesome! I d thought of selling my Defy because of the camera issue, looks like I wont have to do that now
Are there any defy+ made in green lens? if by mistake they have released some, we can get the kernal from there...

i HAVE INSTALLED rc0.......NO CHANGES .....NO HD GUYS
I'm now running RC0. Similar to the previous nightly builds. Quite stable overall, but slight battery drain problem. Camera not tested yet.
the only thing im having troubles with on beta 6 is the camera. cant take 5mp/wvga pics, cant zoom and cant record hd and wvga. can somebody please confirm these things are fixed in rc0?

What lens do you have? Green or red or what? Maybe different for each lens type.
i have a green one, but afaik there should be no problem with 5mp pictures, didnt see anybody else having the same issue...
Sent from my CM7 Defy
on quick nobish question does that means that our devices will be officialy cynogend ports and that it will have stable release ?
it is not official (although cyanogen tweeted that the official release is coming to the defy, but no info about when), its developed by quarx. but yes, this does mean that were gonna have a final stable (hopefully bugfree) version soon. but imo it is quite stable as it is right now...

Mine is green too. I can take 5MP pictures, but they are not wide format. The 4MP (wide) option only gives standard aspect ratio photos. Zoom works up to 4x, but not 5x.
Mine is green lens too... and almost perfect!
obvious.... Zoom >4 has problems

But there is higher chance that in CM7 we will have fully working camera. While in CM9 the chance is lower due to lack of official ICS support from samsung. For me, more choice is better On my previous phone (galaxy ace) CM7 is so much better than stock or modified stock rom.

"CyanogenMod 7 firmware is based on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with additional custom code contributed by the CyanogenMod Team. The custom portions of CyanogenMod are primarily written by Cyanogen (Steve Kondik) but include contributions from the xda-developers community (such as an improved launcher tray, dialer, and browser) and code from established open source projects (such as BusyBox in the shell)"
So I could'nt get your point, bro. It says exactly what I'm thinking it is. An Android 2.3 based custom ROM, modified by CyanogenMod Team.
My point is: If it is Android 2.3 based and we have all the drivers to Android 2.3 developed and working, why it can't be used on CM7 ROM?
What is different? The code is all rewritten? Is it being developed throught other ways?

why dont we?

Seeing that we now have a jellybean AOKP and an almost stable CM10. Which do you prefer?
Just look at the downloads, most people prefer CM10.
That's because cm10 has been out longer. I personally like both. I'm asking others what they like about each
Sent from my Wildfire S using xda app-developers app
That's it. AOKP appeared in this forums two days ago.
I flashed the ROM and it's amazing. In my phone goes faster than CM10. But it has some little bugs. I'm waiting to ak0r, he will upload a clean build in a few days.
Cm10 has bug in camera,. Sometime Camera gets blurred like Thats why I reverted back to HTC stock ROM.
Has camera bug free cm10 released? If yes than pls some one give me the download link of Stable CM10 with latest Gapps supporting it...
For cm10 use miui camera to get ride of artifacts in the camera. Beside that there's the YouTube bug and small delay with lock screen but its pretty much stable.

Thanks to cyanogenmod team for this great app, really a great job
This seems to force close when stitching PicSphere compositions together. Does this happen for anyone else?
I believe the CM team was already asked about the possibly putting this application into the Play Store but it's not going to happen anytime soon. Focal is still being actively developed as an open source project and integrated with CM10.2 ROMs.
Being open source you shouldn't have a problem posting the APK here, but you may see changes in the application as often as a daily basis. It's also being integrated with CM10.2 so I don't think anyone has been putting in any effort to debug the application to work with other ROMs like the Sense or GE bases.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend using Focal unless you are actually running a CM10.2 nightly build which already has Focal included.
This app doesn't work for me. I have a TMO HTC One, unlocked bootloader, rooter, TWRP, Maximus 7 (4.1.2 Sense Based ROM) , and ElementalX Kernel. Any ideas why it wont load? It just says Focal has stopped, as soon as I open the app.
