Just want to share some early impressions of Anker 2500mAh battery for the Note.
I brought this on Amazon UK for £10, which is half the cost of the cheapest stock battery I can find from trusted online shops, the Anker seems few grams heavier than the stock battery.
I have used the Anker in the Note for two weeks now and decided to do a control test against the 4 months old stock battery.
The Note was set to play 720P version of “The six sense” on desktop version of YouTube using Boat browser at full brightness, with the sound at 50% output to a pair of headphones.
The YouTube page was refreshed every 1:30 hrs to restart the movie, and battery usage recorded after the 5% low battery warning popped up.
As you can see the Anker lasted 1 hr longer than the stock battery in the test. It would have been better if I had a newly conditioned stock battery to compare against the Anker. Still it shows the Anker advertised 2500mAh capacity is not too far off.
I’m going to continuing to use the Anker as my main battery and the stock as backup. I also had an Anker battery in my HTC Sensation for 3 months and was very pleased with the battery life, so I think it should stand up pretty well for long term daily use.
So if you don’t want to spend £20 on a stock battery, the Anker is a very good alternative. It is few £ more expensive than some generic batteries on eBay, but Anker has good reputation with their products, just check out the long thread in HTC Sensation accessories section.
Thanks for the compare. 4 hours screen time for stock battery is kind of disappointing.
I actually own one and it fairs well as a spare for prolonged usages.
I owned two spares for my Galaxy S2, also. So in a nutshell, quality and performance of the Anker brand has been consistently excellent.
For $12, it's worth the purchase.

To be fair, the test was designed to stress the battery to the maximum under controlled condition.
The Note was playing a 720p Flash video with full screen brightness. The movie also has very little black background, so the OLED’s power efficiency is minimised.
I also had the phone’s cell radio enable and CPU scaling set to “on demand” so the battery drains even quicker.
Under those conditions, 4 hrs of usage for a 4 months old phone battery is not too bad, a new stock battery would probably last around the same or more than the Anker did.
I've no problem using the Note all day long with the stock battery with Juice Defender to auto manage my data connection.
Agree, you were over-stressing the battery, but Engagdet got over 9 hours looping a video at 50% brightness (still overkill IMHO).
Also, in my experience, Juice Defender has always given me less battery life when enabled. I got about 30 mins more display time and 2 hours of overall time with Juice Defender off vs. on.

I'm confident that they were not looping a flash video, but a locally hosted video file. The OPs test.stresses the device much more as flash video consumes a lot of battery power to play, especially as he was streaming the video, and the screen consumes a large amount of power at full brightness.
For what it's worth, I bought one of these on this thread's recommendation, and have not been disappointed.
I purchased one of these for my S2, it was dirt cheap. Absolutely brilliant battery and it seems Anker have done it again, highly recommended and I may well purchase one of these for my Note soon.
Thanks for the battery recommendation!
What charger would you all recommend to go with this battery?
It has been a month now since using the Anker as daily battery, so I decided to run the same test again. As you can see, there is no difference compared to the test I did earlier, so it seems to be holding the charge. I'll do the same test again after 2 months to see what the difference is.

I use a normal USB wall charger can be find very cheap online. I don’t think the battery charge any quicker with higher amp charger like the Galaxy Tab and ipad.

There is no way the Note battery can last 9 hrs, I got a new ipad on the weekend and was using the stop watch on the Note to time how long a full charge take. After 6 hrs and 30 mins, the Note battery was around 18%, the Note screen was at minimum brightness most of the time.
So I call BS to Engagdet test on the Note, even though their battery tests are accurate most of the time.
anyone know where to buy?

I got the Samsung Battery Charger Stand, it charges via the same type of USB port on the Note. I use my Note in Desk Clock mod during the night so the stand coming handy, I can position the Note horizontally so it can be connected to a wall charger.

thanks for the review and the opinions guys! currently searching for a good yet price worthy battery to buy!
Attached are my stats with the first full charge cycle with this battery. Needless to say, I'm very pleased. Awesome value!
Thanks for the battery recommendation!
but i hope that will release a galaxy note battery with built in NFC chip...
Just bought two of them for 20 bucks, I saw the review decided to give them a try. Ill report back about quality but I hope they are as good as I've head.

I bought Juice Defender Ultimate & it was useless for me. My battery ran out faster with Juice Defender than without. Not using any battery saver app anymore.
how about Nomax?
anyone hv any comment
i saw in ebay its look good but im not sure.
Alright so recently I purchased the Anker 2050mAh battery. It's compatible with the T989 (Hercules) and I727 (Skyrocket). It fits in the standard battery cover.
Like my previous Anker batteries, this one arrived with 66%. I used Juice Offender to drain it to 0%, and then fully charged it.
I later used it moderately throughout the day and it lasted about 16 hours. 4 hours on 4G and 12 on Wifi. I DON'T have screenshots though. By moderate use I mean quite a lot of texts, IMs on Facebook, checking Facebook every half hour, about 30 pictures taken in 8MP resolution (without flash), a few quick calls with Google Voice, a bit of web browsing, about 30-45 minutes of gaming, and a few YouTube videos streaming on 4G in high quality.
The next day, I used it on a full charge. The screenshots are attached. I used it moderately/heavily this time. About 3 hours on 4G and 10 on Wifi. More texts, IMs, pictures, 6-7 minutes of HD video recording, streamed more YouTube videos in high quality on 4G, an hour of gaming, some web browsing and dictionary use, and 2 very short calls. As you can see in the screenshots, my phone was awake quite a lot.
NOTE ABOUT THE SCREENSHOTS: The battery isn't at 81%. It really died, and when I put my stock battery in, the battery stats continued (which is really strange) so that's when I took the screenshots. If you look at the chart you can see it went all the way down and then a sudden rise up to 81% at the very end.
Note 2: When Wifi was on, I was using Wifi calling, so the phone signal was turned off.
Note 3: This is on rooted stock ROM + stock kernel, with almost all bloatware removed.
[url=http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0078WR4KW/]Here you can save money by buying two batteries + the universal Anker battery charger. The charger can charge almost any smartphone battery by lining up the metal contacts properly. It can take power by plugging it in a wall outlet or by a USB cable connected to a PC or wall outlet. It can also charge a phone by connecting a micro USB cable from it to the phone. So you can charge two batteries at once.
Awesome,thanks for the review!
This is great.
I used Anker 1900mAh for my sensation and it significantly increased battery life compared to HTC battery. Hope this battery does the same to my T989!
Update: I just bought one. Will try it for few days and update here on how it works!

I'll be watching this thread. I've been wanting to get this, but this is the only review I've found so far.
One thing that caught my eye is that Ankor says "Keep the battery power between 5%-95%", but i like to plug in my phone/battery and just let it charge while i sleep or whatever. I wonder if my habits of just letting it charge until i unplug it will negatively effect the life of the battery.

Things become abnormal when too overly do. I suppose this is the common rule.
Some batteries may not have the "overcharge protection", and if it is not protected, battery life will be shortened. And for me, even if the battery is protected, I will still use it with care.
whoever tests this out, can you guys also use DISPLAY ON TIME and VOICE TIME if you use that. (2 main factors)
What type of usage did you get with the stock battery? At that price I may pick one up.
I'm running an aftermarket rom and tend to get that already, but I'm not too sure what stock debloated is capable of with the normal battery. it's Amazon prime too, so i might order it tonight and see how it does this weekend.
EDIT: Damn, or for $10 more a second and a charger. 2 of my immediate family use this phone.... hm....

Is it worth it for the extra 200 mAh?
And in the description for the batteries, Anker says:
Using Tips:
- Keep the battery power between 5%-95%.
- Avoid overcharge and over discharge. Please stop charging when the battery is 100% charged.

Thanks for the rude response, but that wasn't the question
The question is will that battery fit the T989. I see the original battery linked says it fits the i727 and t989, but this is listed as the i727r. I don't know the variants of the skyrocket well, if at all, so my question is will the one I linked fit our devices.
I have it and it fits. Comes with funny English......also ignore signature I am using t989

looks good
but i think with my anker as a primary, a charged oem battery as a backup, and a powerskin ready to snap on I should be ok with power... just wish there was an easy way to tune down the auto-brightness on our devices. ive seen roms with it built-in but not sure how
ORdered one thanks for this OP
Woah, nice find man! Im seriously thinking about buying a second battery now. how much is the battery percent increase? 5-10ish%?
It's getting late......after a long day waiting for this 3250 mAh battery to go flat, here is my review for what it is worth.
I have been searching for a month to find a battery that had the capability to last me all day. Not a bulky one! One that would fit within the original case. Not make my phone look pregnant.
I wanted a battery that i could Take off charge at 8am being able to last me all day, with LIGHT to MEDIUM usage (not heavy use!), right up until I went to bed at 10 and put it back on charge.
Is this the one??? (battery photos below)
I sourced this one. It just about fits the phone. I had to peel the battery label off at all 4 corners to get it in. It's fits in fine with standard Samsung back on. No bulge. I put in straight into my phone and charged it up to 100% then took it off charge and restarted the phone.
I'm not expecting amazing results on this first drain as I am more than aware it will take 3 to 4 cycles to gain it's full effectiveness. I am however expecting it to beat my standard battery display time on this first drain as it holda 34% more charge and then improve again after 3 more days use!
My stock Samsung battery lasts normally 4 hours display time with light to medium use. I have google location turned off, brighteness to auto and i am running gingerbread LA6. Full Samsung stock fresh out of the box. No root. No mods at all. And I have all the Samsung crap turned on and registered. I have google email with 2 accounts running. I play the odd game, and text and email like crazy. I used Ebay app heavily and also surf the Web lots. There are widgets on all 7 screens running and I always have a heavy usage live wallpaper running.
Phone finally starting to go flat... I will take screen shots of battery use and upload them. With my finally thoughts and finally 1st battery use screen shots as soon as it goes flat.
And obviously I'll look forward to your valued thoughts and views and make use of your experience as I'm new to this.......hopefully won't be too long!
Bye 4 now
1st day results in.
2nd day results in..
Photos of battery weights...
3Rd day results...

I'm actually quite intrigued to hear about this...my boyfriend uses a non branded battery from China for his Galaxy S2 and he's had no problems with it seems. I think he may have got it from ebay too. Combining that with a rechargeable case he never has to worry about recharging his phone. I hope this one works out well.

When I had my SGS2, I bought a 3,500mAh battery from eBay. It lasted longer, but not as long as I expected.
I tested it with a battery analyzer and sure enough, it was 2,413mAh. I bought another two, those only measured out at about 2,100mAh.
Those high mAh ratings you see on ebay batteries are fake.

No fake as in false advertisement! That's not really 3250 or whatever mah. If it was why wouldn't Samsung have made a 3200 or 3500 mah stock size battery? I can get 8 hours and over 5 hours screen on with stock 2500 easy. Usually mine goes all day with 4-8 hours music and 3-5 hours screen and last from 7am to 10pm ... its a scam that battery is maybe 2800 mah if that .....

I have the 4500mAh battery and am VERY happy with it. I am not impressed by advertising that says "Highest capacity slim profile battery". That may be so, but you can only get so much power from a slim line battery. I thought I would never go to a battery that would require changing the size of my phone by putting on a different battery cover, BUT I'm glad I did.
The 4500mHh battery has been well worth it, IMHO. Got it from Gorilla gadgets, BTW.
Looks like it doesn't support NFC. I know that's a deal breaker for some.
I wouldn't trust anyone but Samsung to build a battery that fits under our stock battery cover that provides anything more than we already get.

Sent from my Galaxy S3 using neighbors wifi
Yes the instructions say charge for 12 hours before use and they have a break in of 5-6 charges for full battery life. Also they have NFC enabled crossed of in black sharpie on them the charger feels a little cheap too and flickers when you have your phone on the USB port while charging one oft the batteries. How they expect us to charge them both for 12 hours is odd the one I put in my phone charged much quicker than that and leaving it on longer is pointless as when they hit full safe chargers stop charging the batteries.
Battery 1 finished in 10 hours on the charger battery 2 finished in 2 hours in phone on stock charger stock battery is in charger now.
Charger had the following colors for led
Blue- no battery powered
Pink-battery charging
Purple- battery done
Also while charging and using the USB port is possible the charger led flickers when doing so. I don't believe it has enough amps to power both unfortunately. None of the batteries got warm at all while charging.
As for NFC Samsung should have never put it in the battery to begin with I'm thinking about getting a galaxy note 2 back pulling the NFC ant out of it and putting it in my s3 as they put the contacts for wireless charging and NFC external ant in our phones.

Not sure yet just got them today and they just finished charging for the first time. After I use them for a couple days I'll post here. Overall they seem just as well made as the stock battery perhaps a bit heavier but I would need a very accurate scale to find out just how many grams they are.

I've own the SGS3 almost since launch day. Soon it will be 2 years old.

I'm thinking of buying a new original 2100 battery to see if it improves battery life. Would it?
Anyone has tried this?
Thanks.

I haven't tried it yet since I'm hopefully getting a new phone soon but I do believe it would help, maybe an extra hour SOT because I know my battery was amazing back 2 years ago and now I get the same times you do if not worse.
After a year on mine I was only getting 1700mah, So now I get a new Anker 2200mah battery every 6 months because they are just as good as original but do last longer.
Theoretically yes! battery life should improve, as you will be having a new battery.
My battery is just over a year old and i get around a 1d12h worth of battery time and roughly 3.5 to 4 hours SOT.
I recently bought a Pisen 2100mah battery off the internet and for the same SOT i got more usage. maybe 1d 20h nearing the 2d use.
n.b; wifi is always on. i use 3G for like 30 mins during a day
from what I've heard, newer generations of batteries, like ones that ship with SGS3, should not be drained to 0% with phone shutting down. it was advised to charge at low percents like 1% to 5% while phone is still on

I've own the SGS3 almost since launch day. Soon it will be 2 years old.
I'm getting 3 hours SOT and 24 hours total.
I'm thinking of buying a new original 2100 battery to see if it improves battery life. Would it?
Anyone has tried this?
Thanks.

Of course it would and if you dont have problem with size and weight i recomend you to get samsung's 3000mhA battery. Why not getting a bigger battery
It depends how old the battery is though. All Li-ion batteries degrade over time, even if they aren't used. So if you get a 2 year old battery, that has been sitting on a shelf somewhere, it won't help as much as you'd hoped. Depending on the temperature and charge level it was stored at, it could have lost a lot of its capacity.
So the trick is to get a newly manufactured battery, which isn't so easy since most sellers don't write this information.

After a year on mine I was only getting 1700mah, So now I get a new Anker 2200mah battery every 6 months because they are just as good as original but do last longer.

Since a bigger battery means the battery is thicker, the original back cover wouldn't fit, then you need to use a specific cover which would make your phone heavier.
Right now I am in this trouble,I got a Onite 4500mAh extended battery with a blue cover, hopefully it's a great product, shipping as listed and battery performs exactly as listed,I just don't like the cover,it made my phone looked heavier.I was wondering maybe I should choose a power bank and put back my OEM one on.

This is true. You also need to account for your usage. If you do a lot of activity that heats your battery up (games, navigation, etc.) Then even a shelf stored battery will help since heat is another Li-ion killer.
My S3 was 2 years old in May of this year. I have been having issues with the battery and charging. My USB charging port has the classic loose connection issue as does the headphone jack. I see the fix and YouTube videos to repair but have not yet done that. I last week got my new OEM Samsung battery and the external charging kit. I just upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.2 NDA8 despite being eligible for a new phone discount from Sprint. My S3 is a 32gb unit and I will not buy a S5 with only 16gb, no way no how.
The new battery is performing very well. It is so close on updating to 4.4.2 that I can not be certain that there were not issues with my rooted 4.1.2 build after so many months. For sure the new battery is lasting longer. I think it was worth the $42.03 spent on the charger and battery as my USB port is in question and I can always swap batteries and charge with the external charger.
My S3 has a new lease on life and I can wait for new tech before upgrading. xda developers forum - root - and the desire for liberty is a powerful combination.
why not try using wireless charging? the qi reciever + charger should not cost you mote than 35 bucks. and you can still use your current battery, battery cover, & nfc, unlike powermat.

A 2 year battery will definitely be worn-out. Depending on the charging cycle count, could be only a 20%,but maybe a 50 or 70%.
I bought a Zerolemon 7000mAh battery few months a go, I'm usually getting 4-5 days on normal usage, and 11-13h of screen on.
Best bought I have ever made.
