[Q] Phone bricking per OTA - strange

Hey Folks
I tried now 2 times to get on the new Firmwareversion 4.x for the Arc with root.
Every Time i tried to Unlock per OTA the Phone bricked. So the Bootloader must be open.
I don´t touched the Bootloader, but i think the Bootloader is open, because the Phone had SimLock and i unlocked the phone with SETools with Testpoint Methode.
How do I know if the boot loader can be unlocked on my phone?
It is possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases of our 2011 Xperia™ phones, such as Xperia™ arc, Xperia™ neo, Xperia™ pro and Xperia™ PLAY. Your phone has to fulfill a number of requirements, for example, you can’t unlock the boot loader if you have a SIM lock protected phone. There are other requirements as well, depending on your market and the original configuration of your phone.

So the Bootloader must be open in a way am i right? But i can still update with PCC or SEUS the Firmware
Where can i check the Bootloader Status
Thanks in advance for Help Dudes
Setool would have unlocked the bootloader, so have a read of the unbrick thread in the dev section.

You have to pay to unlock your bootloader, and when it's unlocked it activates Fastboot. You can't do anything with Fastboot until it's unlocked, but you can root your phone using zergrush method. I have a r800at as well and the $24 to unlock the bootloader is WELL WORTH the money. Also when you unlock the bootloader it unlocks the Sim as well.

Ya I came across a post on that. Fact. I mated a member about doing this for me.

dial from your phone to check status :
*#*#7378423#*#*
service info --> configuration
for me, the best way is via fastboot..

dear gogo,
I've tried that, the service info will tell you "bootloader unlock allowed = yes"
it will not tell you whether your phone is locked or unlocked state!
It will tell you.
Mine is unlocked and says " Bootloader unlocked: Yes "

that means your bootloader is still locked, and you were allowed to unlock it.

So that means I can do the same exercise again to unlock I mean official way?
In that case se will provide me new code to unlock?
I don't remember the old code they provided
Regret for the seeking the clarification again as I don't want to endup in trouble later.

Yes, you can unlock again.
Request the code again and you'll see if they provide it again.

I'm asking did anybody tried this way so far?
What if incase if SE block if you send imei 2nd time! That's my worry!
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
They can't block a unlockable bootloader afaik
Just try it

it's ok.
I've tried it.
the unlock code is still the same code you had received before.
the remaining question is whether you sure to unlock it again or not, as standard user doesn't need to do such thing.
bravery comes from experience.
that's it bro.
I think your problem has solved.

100% satisfied with yr answer.
Thanks and clicked thanks button too !
I'll do the unlocking today itself and start playing with the custom Rom!
Thanks dude.

For the info...
Bootloader unlocked: Yes
Means fastboot is enabled and the bootloader can be unlocked the official way
Bootloader unlocked: No
Means fastboot is disabled and therefore the bootloader can only be unlocked by other means
The best way for you to check your bootloader status is do identify in s1tool or similar

[Q] Helping Unlocking Bootloader

Hello XDA, I've got a rooted Xperia Play running the Xperia NXT ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649368). I would like to unlock the bootloader and boot into fastboot mode but when I enter *#*#7378423#*#* and check the Bootloader status, I see "Bootloader unlock allowed: No". I've heard there is a way around this, could someone help me? I'd love to install the doom ICS kernel on my phone and a new ROM. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Phone is AT&T, R800i, and I also know what my IMEI number is

If you are on build number 6.1.a.2.45 then the easiest way to root is following-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Root doesn't require bootloader unlocking. But still if you want to unlock the bootloader then you find the details here-
