[Q] Composite Video-Out? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Alright punks. Googles didn't provide me with any information so i'm hoping i can find some here. I have one of those 1/8" cables that split into s-video, rca R/L. I can't find a setting in the OS but was just curious if anyone has experimented with this or knows anything about any video-out capabilities NOT involving a dock.

Wizard to TV (RCA or S-Video) patch cable?

is there some sort of cable they make so i can play movies from my 8125ppc to a tv? i was thinking maybe a mini-usb to rca or mini-usb to s-video? i imagine this type of transfer may also need some software to enable it, maybe theres a hack? looked through a few online stores and didn't find what i was looking for....im pretty handy with a soldering gun if i have to make it myself. does the wizard support this type of media output?
i use TCPMP for video if thats at all relevant.

Impossible.
Not impossible. I saw this device tonight and remembered this thread and went hunting to find it.

Not sure if it will work for your phone but its a start.

HTC Desire - USB audio output possible

Hi Devs,
first of all, sorry for starting a new thread, but searched the forum and didn't find exactly that.
Like I've read, there is no audio over USB support built-in to our mighty Desire.
I tried a few different microUSB to 3.5mm jack adapters from ebay - even one declared as for HTC Desire. Checked the usb-pins-assignment also and it seems that HTC hasn't built in (or turned off) that function in opposite to some other manufacturers.
So will it be possible to write a rom or a kernel, that'll support that?
If it is possible, I would appreciate a few hints what I'll have to do, to get this thing working!
Thanks in advance!
Can I know why you need that? Is it for A/V out?

Its not possible to send analog audio signal over the usb since its a standard usb plug. Only the old htc phones with extUSB had audio, but its was a bigger plug with more pins.
On that note i dont get why you want to get audio from there, when theres a nice 3.5mm jack socket on the top of the phone.

Thanks for your quick answers!
Yes, since there are no music docks for desire I built my own and it has to be possible, other phones with microUSB have that function - why not ours?
I know the old extUSB plug from my magic, there it is no problem. But there must be a way to get this working! I think it is only a software and/or driver issue.
If you'll get a music dock you'll have to plugin the phone + jack everytime? ? ? Look on ebay there are a few universal docks over microUSB, but not working for the nearly best and most sold android phone on market?
Pls give me some hints if there is a way to do that - everything is possible!
Sent from my HTC Desire

Umm, well not really. Because who says that the USB port of your phone is connected the right way internally to actually SEND data over the cable/dock.
I have no idea on how to do it. Thats just what I think, but with Android, a LOT is possible

YEAH IT IS!
On Nexus one they built in extra pins for docking and audio over that works like a charm.
I'm having a few adapters microUSB to 3.5mm jack for Motorola,Samsung,Nokia...phones from ebay, but not one reaction from Desire
Maybe the adapter for Desire needs a Digital-to-analog converter to get analog audio out of the microUSB port.
But no technical details over that from HTC - does anyone know more about the microUSB connections on our Desire? Tried to get a technical manual for Desire, but no chance on google...
If there is no other solution, I'll have to disassemble my expensive Desire to get a view on connections and maybe some hints which IC is managing the microUSB.
Does any dev know what would be possible by modding a kernel or rom?
Thanks in advance!

im also looking for something like this, though i want digital-audio out. for example in my car, plug and play so i get spotify from my usb to my stereo and able to control spotify from my stereo. there is no problem for this if you use iphone, though id like to be able to do it on my htc.
any solution?
Ability to stream out the audio through USB would be something nice to have.
There's a guide online on how to splice a USB and 3.5mm cable to the Apple USB cord so that you can charge and play audio on ipod accessories, as long as you don't mind having USB and audio plugged in at the same time. http://www.erwanmace.com/2012/07/ipod-dock-android/

Evo HDMI Out question

Ok so in my room I have one of the older Hitachi plasma tv's that was made before they started putting HDMI in as standard. Still in great working condition so I really see no need to upgrade it for now. Now my question is.. it does have these OTHER ports that look kinda like HDMI ports but I know they arent. Anyone know of like some sort of special cable or adapter I could use to go HDMI direct from the phone to the tv?
You can get something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/GefenTV-HDMI-to-Composite-Scaler/dp/B0013LTNF8
Obviously this is a pretty expensive option. I did a 10 second Google search and found this. I'm sure there are cheaper methods.
If it's an HDTV, then it either has a DVI input or component inputs. If your TV had DVI, you can use something like this with the regular EVO HDMI cable:
http://cgi.ebay.com/DVI-D-HDMI-Adap...836?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b96e20fc
If your TV only has component inputs, then you need an actual converter box like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/HDMI-5-RCA-Comp...024?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a0d942cc0
What Cares posted is a scaler that actually converts an analog signal into digital. You already have a digital signal being sent from your phone via HDMI to a digital TV, so all you need is a converter/adapter.....you don't need upscaling.
Hope that helps..........

[Q] HDMI out through amp?

Hey guys,
So I have a M919V (from Videotron) and I just bought the official Samsung MHL 2.0 HDMI adapter. I previously bought a cheapo one from Monoprice and I couldn't get any sort of video out of it even with the 11-pin adapter. I tried with my old S3 and that wouldn't work either, so I got a defective one.
So now, yay, it works, and I can have HDMI out straight to my TV, but I'd really love to plug it into my amp instead, as I could get surround sound and such. Strangely enough, when I do plug the HDMI cable into my amp, my phone shows "Plug the phone directly into the TV".
Is there a way to enable the HDMI out through an amp? I'm *guessing* this has something to do with HDCP or whatever, but I kinda doubt it (my PS3 is full HDCP and still functions quite well through HDMI) so I'm really wondering what's going on with this.
I'm on stock rooted.
I recommend just using a headphone jack to plug into an amp. I haven't seen any mods that allow for hdmi on audio devices yet. There could be one, but I haven't seen it, do a quick search on xda.

That's a possible solution, true. I'll have to give that a shot... It really sucks, I'd be stuck with stereo anyway. My ultimate goal is to be able to stream videos from my PC to my phone and output to my TV, which would negate the need for any sort of weird device.

Headphone output voltage? mW? USB eternal DAC?

Hi,
I have 3 questions that I hope can find an answer in these forums:
1. What is the output voltage for the headphone jack and/or what's the mW output level?
2. Is it possible to get an analog audio signal from the USB port?
3. Can the USB port be used to connect an eternal DAC?
Could someone please share this wisdom that seems impossible to find anywhere?
No one has ever tried to connect a 250 ohms headphone to this mobile?
That would maybe shed some light on this.
OK, thanks for the non-help.
I have found the solutions I was searching. I won't share it here as nobody has even cared to share a bit of info with me.
