roms in tar.md5

Hello guys, i was wondering how come devs didn't release their ROMs in tar.md5's or just tar's to flash with Odin. I heard someone on this forum (it was a while ago and i don't remember what post/poster) that flashing a ROM in odin would make it a bit faster. I don't know if this is true or not (please let me know if thats false). Either way, thanks in advanced for your responses and insight.

There is no speed difference unless you are talking about time to flash and recovery wins that battle. And many people want their roms flashable without having to bother with a pc. Also building a tar takes longer to create. So if you are making frequent updates to your rom it becomes a pain. So in short I would say the demand is not worth the effort.

None of us know. Supposedly he's been updating his other rom on a different device but no eta as of yet. It's really a great rom so I'm good without an update for now.

Give them a break its the freaking holidays. They have lives too. Threads like this discurage developers, if you want a update mabe u should start developing. Marry christmas

I tend to favor it over calk's. You can try it out and if on don't like it there's always a backup to...well back you up

You right its a question but seriously..... Honestly why do you want an update...just because? If it ain't broke......
4g hotspot mod can be obtained and is noted in the thread, your apps update on its own and maybe I missed something but are there legit bugs.

Calm down. I didnt write in caps or anything. Ur not paying the dev for the rom so its his right to never update if he so chooses. The only person who know the answer to your question is him so why r u asking the whole community. U could ask him but he will probably choose to ignore u. If he does tell u then great.

Your hard work wouldnt get noticed or cared about if all the noobs and random people are all ran off... thats what your doing everytime you jump somebodys ass for asking a simple question... I dont mind answering questions and i dont bash noobs just this guy. Look at the treads he posted they r rediculous. Look at my history i dont bash noobs. But like u said "people have lives" like developers and so they may not have time to update there rom nor does it really need updated. So hes not the guy who ask "does it come with fries ",hes the guy who ask when are they changing the recipe.

Niiiiice point, so here is a thought don't ask the waitress a dumb question and hey here is another thought take some time to research. There are still rules and guidelines in xda in reference to asking questions. I dont want to be that guy but the reason you have to skim through 600 pages is because 400 of those pages have the same question asked over and over. Of course filled with people like me telling them to search....Lol
I have no prob helping a so called noob but really have you seen some of the stuff ppl ask...

ETA questions are impossible to answer. The dev can say he is going to release an update tomorrow and then if he has to make any last minute changes, it looks like he isn't keeping his word and people start going nuts on the thread.

hi well some people (no names will be mentioned) have been getting annoyed with me via pm recently for always posting answers to peoples questions. even though i am usually helping them.
so i have a few questions.
1. do you think i should stop posting on questions to help the user?
2. do you think i do a good job at helping people with questions?
3. do you think i should just leave this forum?
4. do you think i should just cut down on how many questions i answer?
5. do you think my answers are correct?

thanks btw are you on giffgaff like your signature ses or are you on orange like the image on the left says? i love giffgaff.

If you feel you are helping people and people are showing their appreciation by telling you or pressing the "Thanks" button then conitnue with it, all that should matter is if you feel you are being a productive positive member. And honesty is usually best, granted tact may also have to come into play but people that are not straight honest it can make things more frustrating for the user in question. So in a nutshell if you think are a benefit then keep going.

but thats the point i am not sure. like 90% of the 100% dont even say thanks or press thanks when i help them as a lot of people post a question and then dont even check that thread again.

I have seen users at the end of each post say "if you found this post helpful please hit the 'Thanks" button. I do the same thing on eBay after I sell something, telling people to remember to leave feedback. Same concept. Try that and see if that makes a difference. You got nothing to lose.

lol i had to take a screenhost of my post at 666 and put it as my avatar. now i just sit and wait to see if drunk people think they see the post count twice lol

I understand so many people being skeptical over that guy in all. but what about us new devs trying to make our way onto the scene. I know trust needs to be earned, so ill let my rom do the talking. At least try to have an open mind.

This guy joined within 6 days and already knows about jalstudio... doesn't sound right.

My rule if thumb: don't trust any new dev that's been here less than a year. How can you develop and be into the custom android world and only have an xda account for such a short time?

No actually I am not sure how other people can view it actually so I linked them to the original post, is there a better way? It's not only for my particular phone model, it's for any android phone as far as I am aware.

Not sure what your talking about im not looking to make this a flame war or anything all i am saying one thread is enough... Not only that i understand OP intention is to get more people to see it but if i would be putting anything up does that mean i should open 2-3 threads so people see it ? OP be patient and good work is always welcomed !

No bad intentions at all infact I welcome any feedback good or bad as I am new to all of this. I don't regularly use forums, I just thought those with other phones might want to see those apps Again thanks for your opinions
