Hi 2 all,
I know another thread about a bricked xperia?
Yes I'm sorry.
I've tried 20 different methodes, searched the internet, read a zillion pages but it all didn't help.
This is the case,
I wanted 2 install cm7.2 on the arc. it said lt18i baseband was required so I downloaded and accidently flashed the whole lt18i firmware on my lt15i.
now the phone does nothing. I can still use flashmode but when in fastboot mode I get a need root error.
The phone was unlocked and rooted.
heres the log file:

This is after trying to flash a loader.sin.
Thats where the problem seems to be becouse thats the file that can't be flashed, other files where flashed in an attempt to flash back to lt15i firmware. ( stock lt15i btw )
It states : SEC_LOCK_STATUS="LOCKED"
perhaps thats something.
I flashed my renoir, omnia 2 and sgs2 without problems and I like to do thing myself but I just can't figure this one out.
I've been at it for a total of 8 hours now and realy I've done all I can do before asking for help. ( I hate to do that, this is the first time )
Any ideas are welcome otherwise my gf will probably castrate me for killing her phone and paying service center fees.
Loads of thanks in advance.
Btw I tied all the unbrick methodes and read and tried all "I bricked my xperia" threads here.

have you try with flashtool?
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I've tried flashtool.
Flashing lt15i stock firmware but the loader.sin can't be flashed and it stops halfway when flashing system.sin.
I've also tried fastboot but I get a "need root" error. The phone was previously unlocked and rooted so I don't understand the error.
Edit : I found that I accidently flashed play loader.sin
In windows devices the phone is named S1boot. Thats play right?
I feel so stupid, is there a fix or a way to force the loader.sin
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
I think the problem is now flashtool see your phone as lt18 :try to put your lt15 bin files included loader. sin inside the lt18 folder and try to reflash....

Try to flash one of the custom Kernel then stock based custom ROM through recovery and see if that works.

did not work for me...
it simply doesn't see the phone.
friend of mine tried to flash with ftf files (because yesterday we stuck with SONY LOG) BUT somehow he flashed "mk16i_4.1.B.0.431_ready to root" and now device is shown is EXPERIA PRO (mk16i) .....
we can't flash any other ftf files e.g. "LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2184))" or "lt18i_4.1.B.0.431_ready to root" - phone gets into flashmode but if we try to flash it shows ERROR and stops flushing.
Any ideas?...
p.s. Settled down activated finally.
Found sin_set_files and flashed them using s1tool

I unlocked my bootloader via Omnius , decided to flash sony ics beta due to me being on .42 firmware , correctly entered all the commands nad flashed, but I was stuck in a bootloop and so i decided to try flash tool which gave me :
ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="MEMORY_CLASS";ERR_STATIC="HASH_VER";ERR_DYNAMIC="Block verification failed";
When trying to flash system or baseband ; kernel flashed fine. It still didn't boot. Tried wotanserver, it stopped when flashing the system. SEUS simply says that I'm on the latest firmware ; I can't repair anything. So now, I have no idea as to what to do...
EDIT-Can't get into fastboot either now -_-.
You did wrong mate, you should have flashed with 0.62 firmware and not 0.42 ! they warned about that !
I hope someone more experience could help you , on my play everything is working with ICS

So you did. Sorry. Have you tried more than one FW version? I don't know much, I can only suggest what I would try in a similar situation. Which would be wiping everything wipe-able and flashing any and all ftf files I had til my phone worked again. Also, kernels add backups.
Sent from my R800i using XDA
When you say you can't repair anything, is that via SEUS?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
It was yes,I can now but its just flashing over the same version of firmware that I have installed ; I'm guessing I still have DRM intact .
A repair is supposed to flash the same version. Did it fix it?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
No it didn't. HOWEVER, after ****ting myself for around 6 hours, I noticed after I flashed the ftf via omnius my unlocked bootloader was gone(couldn't get into fastboot)...Simply did the process again and now I'm back in business .
EDIT- Thanked your posts MilkyJoe for atleast bothering to help me =D.
I know what it's like to Google problems only to be met with "answers" like, "Try Google" or, "Use the search function". Or even posts with no answers. Which forces you to ask questions yourself, often not getting answered.
If I answer and it doesn't help the OP, it might help somebody else Google-ing a similar problem.

From the original thread on Flash and Root ICS, there were 2 links, one for Flashtool 0.9.0.0 and one for Flashtool Update 2012 Xperia.. The update is just an update, not the entire tool. All you need is the Flashtool 0.9.0.0 is has the updated 2012 xperia files already. I think the second link is for those that already have Flashtool to update it with the most recent xperia files.
That is correct. One is for the full install and other is for updating.
Weird i used .080 and didnt update and it worked fine first try

Drop the FTF right in the Flashtool window, check your options and OK. Flashtool is going to ask you to disconnect your phone and put in flashmode again anyway, so no need to do that before hand.
when i plug my phone in nothing happens nothing starts and i don't know what to start. no flashtool windows nothing. is there something i should have open on my computer?

Hi guys,
I am trying to update a stock standard GB 2.3.6 LT15i for my boss.
I have tried doing it via PC Companion, but it seems to get stuck in an update loop. It says that an update is available, and starts to download files - but then goes back to the beginning of the process after about 20 minutes.
I have tried this on 2 different PC's, both Win 7 x64.
I would like to try update the phone using FlashTool now, but I am used to Samsung phones, so I am not sure of the steps.
I just wanna confirm if it is ok to flash this file via FlashTools -
LT15i- Generic GLobal World 4.1.0.B.587 (16/8/2012)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836071
I do not plan on rooting the phone, but I also want to know if this is gonna clean wipe the phone? I will do a backup in PC Companion.
Anything I might need to know? Do I need to worry about bootloaders?
Thanks in advance.
It's okay to flash that file with Flashtools. It's really easy and there is a very small chance to do anything to your phone. Even if you brick it it will be only a soft brick (0.0001% chance to soft-brick it) And yes, it will wipe the phone
You dont have to worry about bootloaders, as long as you flash stock sony roms there wont be any problems
Thanks malimukk, I'll give it a try this morning.
Remember to check the no final verification box or you will get an error message, the phone will be ok and will be updated.

it's been just two days since I got my new ZL
Cause: It happened when I changed 'build.prob' and saved via Root Explorer.
As soon as I saved the file, phone automatically rebooted and fell into boot loop.
I believe something is wrong with permission (for build.prob)
My ZL
does not have unlocked bootloader
thus , does not have recovery to fix permission.
ADM does not work since usb debugging was turned off
is rooted
is able to go into FASTBOOT but can't flash since it's not unlocked bootloader.
I believe it can be fixed by changing permission for 'build.prop' to 644
spent like 3 hours til 6 am here and no luck.
Is there is any method I can fix permission? recover or do factory reset?
I was following 'MUST DO' list for ZL. it happened when I tried to remove navibar.
Any comment will be appreciated.

Install flashtool on your pc and there is a 'driver' folder under 'flashtool'
Install the driver file select xperia z and flashtool driver.
Then launch flashtool and flash ftf file.
It will tell you how to enter flashmode.
