Just bought this 32GB micro sd card for my evo from adorama. I think this is the best price I've seen them for. It's a class 4, not too bad.
I think i'll buy this,its a class 4 also,thanks.
was checking my emails and saw that they sent me one stating it is on back order. email also shows back orders ship within 10 to 14 days or I have the option to cancel order. I think I'll just wait and see what happens.
Haha, I literally just had my 16GB come in a few days ago - Got it for pretty cheap, $10-15 I think.
Oh well - I'd never use 32GB lol.
Consider these other items from j4usin:
Patriot Signature 32 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card with Standard SD Adapter PSF32GMCSDHC43P
List Price:$84.99
Price: $30.00
You Save: $54.99 (64%)
Im selling these on amazon, but another guy is $2.00 cheaper than me
less than a $1 a gig is awesome!
Looks like the price went back up to $39.95 now, oh well!
Would I see the benefits of a class 6 vs 4?
Not sure if I could really use the extra 16gb. I got my 16 gig class 10 for that price. Too bad it died.
I just bought one of these and the price is still 29.95.
Mine should be here on the 1st.
I'm stoked!

Any recommendations for a microSDHC card? I'd like a 16GB. I've been reading up on Class 2, 4, 6, and 10 cards. The consensus seems to be that Class 2 is adequate for most phone usage, except perhaps for recording 720p video.
Any thoughts on this? Brands? I'd like to grab a SanDisk from Office Depot for about $32.
I got an 8gb class 6 for $20 (search newegg for item N82E16820208453 i cant post urls yet sorry).
I figure I may be able to use it in other gadgets in the future and it was only a few dollars difference from a class 4 or 2.
An 8 GB doesn't seem such a bad idea for a starter. I have an 8 GB iPhone 3G right now, and I'm trading it to my daughter for her iPod Touch 8 GB. I'll use it for podcasts and music I don't listen to much.
I'll probably trade up to a 32 GB when they come down in price, and maybe in the meantime I'll grab another 8 GB as a backup / extra "film roll" for trips.
Class 10 is meant for super fast write speeds needed for higher end video capture and the like. Usually DSLRs and such. You'll see a significant price difference for class 6 and class 10 cards. I doubt the Aria camera and system really needs, or even can take advantage of those speeds. Best bet is any basic card I suspect. I prefer going authentic Sandisk >=8Gb. I've been burned recently by DOA Polaroid labeled cards so I'm going back to Sandisk from here on out myself.
I ordered a Class 6 Transcend 8 GB card off of NewEgg. I wanted a Class 6 16 GB, but one comment in the reviews scared me away from the Transcend 16 GB card:
Pros: Reasonable price, good transfer rates.
Cons: When trying to partition ext2 anywhere besides partition slot 1 it returns:
"ERROR: input/output error during write on /dev/block/mmcblk0"
Makes it so you cannot use apps2sd for Android.

I wasn't sure if this would apply, but I didn't want to risk it. The 8 GB reviews all said it worked fine with Android phones.
The 8GB card was only $20, and I figured that I can probably deal with that until the 32 GB cards come down in price. Also, the 8 GB card was a 5x Customer Choice Award Winner, with 624 reviews. Since my iPhone was 8GB, I'm pretty sure I can live with that for awhile, maybe getting a second one to take on trips.
I personally like A-Data, Transcend, and Kingston. I've had compatibility problems with Sandisk before. I like these brands because they've never given me compatibility problems. I've bought a lot of cards from Transcend, but recently, I'm leaning more towards A-Data because their cards are generally pretty fast, like this one.

I got a 16GB card from Sandisk on Newegg for cheap, slapped it in there and it worked perfect. It is a SDHC card also but so far no issues at all.

I got a 16gb microSD class 2 from frys for $17.99 after mail in rebate sounds like a good deal to me. The brand is polaroid by pny, but who cares about the brand.

I've been using the stock card, but used an A-Data 16gig class 6 to root the phone. I'm planning on buying another one to use in the phone. Class 6 may be a little overkill, but i use it in my helmet cam, and i'd like to keep a spare one around. i doubt i can fill 16 gig on the phone.
Bunnie Huang of xbox hacking and chumby fame has done a forensic analysis of a handful of microSD cards in the pursuit of the best quality to include with the chumby device. He determined, among other things, that:
"Kingston is revealed as simply a vendor that re-marks other people’s chips in its own packaging. Every Kingston card surprisingly had a Sandisk/Toshiba memory chip inside, and the only variance or “value add” that could be found is in the selection of the controller chip."
The article is an amazing read.

You'll fill it up quickly if you load all your music on it. Personally, I'm looking forward to when 32GB MicroSD cards are more widely available and the prices are a bit more reasonable.
I picked up a class 2 16gb Polaroid from fry's and I've had no problems. Usually I would never go for that brand (usually go with Kingston or patriot) but the price was good at 25 bucks. Have had no problems whatsoever with it.

I got the same card at Frys on Sunday, great deal! If you look closely at the labeling it says made by PNY for Polaroid.
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good 16 gig memory card for my EVO? I am not to sure what it is I need spec wise to have basically optimal performance.
I don't do much camera or camcorder stuff. I would like to have it so I can run apps off my memory card if the program is capable to free up internal memory.
Thank you,
Whiteice
Take a look around new egg. Go off of the reviews, they are often a good guide to which cards are reliable
Bought mine, Polaroid 16gb, at Fry's for $29 last year http://www.frys.com/product/5885833?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG It has been very reliable and fast.
Patriot is not bad either...

Thank you for the information on the cards. Unfortunately I do not have FRY's near me.
I bought one of the 16GB class 10 Wintec cards off Newegg and it has been really reliable for me. There is a thread about them and some folks had some problems with them, but Wintec is good about replacing them if you do. I have had mine for 2 and a half months and no problems so far. Right now they are on sale for $23.49 + free shipping. Pretty good deal if you ask me. Wintec 16GB c10
If you want a bigger card, Fry's has a 32 gb Kingston for $47 with $13 mail in rebate makes it $35.

I bought the wintec of newegg and it had been pretty good for almost 3 months now and then last night it took a dump. I was able to format and the phone and pc could read it again but I lost over 9 gigs of stuff. And there have been several others on xda that this had happend to. So if u get this one make sure u keep it backed up somewhere just in case.

Do you have the product number on that card? I couldn't find it on fry's website. Thanks.
Edit: It wasn't a micro sdhc card for $34. It was a regular SD card.
Today between 10am and 1pm PST Newegg will have an ADATA 32GB Class 4 microSD for sale for $49.99 (Normally $64.99).
Try this link.
That is directly from the e-mail I got this morning so it may not work for everyone. If not just go to newegg.com and click on the shell shocker deal.
Before anyone asks: I do not work for Newegg nor ADATA, I just got this in an e-mail and know a lot of people want 32GB cards but don't want slow Class 2.
Also, I have not used this card personally so I can't rate it but there are ratings on Newegg you can read.
Man, just ordered adata 16gb class 6. Sure could have used that space!
I bought a Patriot 32gb, class 4, at Fry's for $69 on Tuesday. Came with a $20 rebate ($49 after rebate). Good buy.
I had issues with my sandisk 32gb, class 2, my evo had some issues recognizing it.
I just bought a sandisk 32g class 10 card and it works great.
Sandisk sux
I bought a 32 gb card and after about 6 months nothing would format it or read it.
I rma'd it back for two 16 gb cards due to them not having 32 gb in stock for a month. And they shipped me one 16 gb card. Now another week for the second card. No more of my money.

wicked deal!! wish we could find a killer deal on a 32gb card
Ordered one myself, thanks . Still had the 8GB Samsung Class 2 that I transferred from my EVO 4G.
Ordered one.. Thanks for the heads up!
Still have a Class 2 8GB in my E4GT.. It was time for a small upgrade.. Next upgrade will be 32 GB when they come down a bit
Let it be known that this is a "refurbished" card. Still a very good deal if you don't care about that.

Actually it's "Recertified". Meaning that it was returned for reasons other than a defect (most likely incompatible purchases by customers). In order for them to re-sell an open-box item, they need to Recertify the product. They are most likely new, or used once or twice then returned.
"Refurbished" items are items with defects returned, repaired, then resold.
Got one... been meaning to replace my 8GB card in my phone now. Thanks for the link!
sssswwweeettt!!!!!!thanks, man!!!
Killer deal! Ordered mine. Thanks so much!
It is an "alright" deal, the 16gb is great but the class 4 part is kind of a let down.
All in all great post and I ordered one anyways lol but I got a 16GB class 10 from Frys for $19.99.
Every SanDisk card I have tests above the rated speed. Every non-SanDisk card I have tests below the rated speed. I don't put too much stock in the class ratings as most manufacturers (except SanDisk) inflate their card's performance.
its a card FOR YOUR PHONE
as powerful as our phones are trust me the OS will be the bottle neck before a class 4 card is the bottle neck
I got 3 I have some Contour HD head cams that are going to eat these buggers up
Thanks alot, I jumped right on it as soon as I saw.

What do you guys think is the best combo of space / speed / price? Basically is a class 4 card going to be indistinguishable from class 6+? How many if you actually use more then 16GB?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
class 4 is PLENTY for a phone. the only think you should be looking for is best bang GB per buck.
$8 for 16gig shipped "AND" a reliable quality name brand (sandisk) is a no brainer.
the only time you really need more speed is if your transffering massive content VIA A READER to the card daily.
if your TX'ing through the phone's USB card speed over 4 does not really matter since your bottle neck will be the phone hardware not the card hardware.
This was a decent deal but kind of disappointed in the fact that mine hasn't shipped yet and I ordered it last week. Not that I really care because I have a class 10 16GB in my E4GT now.
WTF lol.
Samsung microSD 32GB Class 10 Waterproof Memory Card for $29 (free shipping)
*EDIT - If you will be taking pics while recording in 1080p (one of the unique benefits of this phone IMO) the fast WRITE speed of a class 10 card will be useful

I keep googling deals on microsd cards. This one came up today. Saw a TEAM card on sale for the same price a week ago but let it slip. Might jump on this one.
Of course Samsung and Sandisk are probably more trustworthy manufacturers.
just picked one up from the ebay site..
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313253 is a little better deal. It's a class 6 but if you do the free 4 day shipping and 30% off w/ promo code EMCNDHH73, you only pay $15.39 out the door so to speak for a 32gb class 6 card.

For the class 6 Sandisk, is that the read or the write speed?
Got a 32 GB Class 10 on NewEgg for $21.99 with free S/H. I think it was a Team or a G Skill.
EDIT: It's a Team. $27.49 and 20% with code EMCNDHD73
FYI: a good way to find out if your card's a fake: SD Card Tester, a free app from the PlayStore.........it gives your read/write speeds, card volume + limited diagnostics.
Yea, agreed......lotta fakes out there!
My SanDisk 64GB class10 microSDXC from eBay isn't a fake (but I knew that already).
Using the SD Card Tester app, it benches the same in writes (~10MB/s) as Antutu, but slower in reads (~18MB/s vs ~30MB/s in antutu).

frys has 32gb class 10 for $22. Probably good till friday.
none of the Class 10 Sandisk cards write as fast as the Samsung, its really discouraging that Sandisk would hide the fact that the write speed is 1/3 of its read speed. Look at http://www.bhphotovideo.com they have read and write speeds listed per card and being this info is very important to photographers and videographers its pretty legit.

the class 10 sandisk 64gb card I have writes at least 11 Mbps. which is pretty 'close' to the listed speed of the samsung 32gb class 10 but double the memory.
