What app are you referring to? You need to enable LED notifications in settings of most
I've been using the app, Light Flow. It's had a few hiccups but works great for the most part. Very customizable. It requires root to work I believe.

I was getting LED, Status bar, audible, and vibration notifications prior to installing Light Flow. The key is you have to enable quite a bit of it in each individual application such as Gmail and Messaging. At first I was wondering why nothing would vibrate the phone even though I had the phone set to vibrate. If you don't want to use Light Flow, go through the settings in each application and check the notification settings. Most likely something is disabled. I use Light Flow simply because I want to change the LED color for different app and contact notification.

Sorry if this is asked but how can we get customzied led control for the notification led?

on a more technical question, does anyone know where the sysfs files are that control the LED colors etc?

I would rather do this.
Have you seen how many options Lightflow give you to customize the notifications? I don't know why you would want to do this manually as Lightflow runs as a service....
+1 on light flow

I am having issues when i turn on and activated this app, the text to speech especially when i am browsing is turning itself on even the talkback features is off..
Anyway to disable this all together on touchwiz roms?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Not in one shot. You have to find settings for everything and turn off notifications LED if the option is provided. Sometimes you only get the notification toggle. So for each email you have to shut it off, for messaging, for games like wordfeud, FB, Twitter...and so on.

Level 9000: Poke around the source and neuter the driver that controls it.
Level nub: Check the many LED control apps to find one with a toggle that universally disables the LED notification.

Anyone know how I can test the LED to see if it's broken or if it's just disabled from my recent flash to JB RC3?
Which led? The camera leds or the notification led? For the camera download a flashlight app. If it is the notification led then turn off phone and plug it in. If I am not mistaken the rom doesn't control that led when the phone is switched off. Or you can backup your current rom and install another.

Hm, good point. Didn't think to check while it was plugged in. The notification LED does work while it is plugged in. But again, it doesn't turn on for any message notifications (text, email, calendar, etc).

I believe there is a setting for the led, at least there is in cm10. Make sure that it is enabled or toggle it off and on and see if it works then.

Thread moved to proper forum.
I'd like to have notification for missed calls or calendar events but for every email I get, cmon! My led is unfortunately constantly flashing due to email which renders it useless. I've set up handcent to flash green but I;d love to have more control over LED customizing. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks in advance.
Dave
Look into the Tasker app, it has amazing capabilities to customize your phone. If you find yourself asking "I wish my phone did/didn't do this/that"; then you probably could use Tasker.
Do you know if that app will in fact allow me to turn off led notification for email? hate to spend $7 to find out It wont.
Thanks
Dave
Why don't you just turn off notifications from the email app?

Id like to retain the notification email.
Light flow, lite manager or blink might provide the control you need to accomplish this
All are in the market and are either free or have a free version

Now i'm really baffled. I turned off all LED notifications in LED indicator under display and also all email notifications in the email app and it is still flashing blue while showing the email icon in the task bar when I get an email. ***Figured it out, had to go into my exchange settings and disable notfication there too. NO idea why it is in two spots. Oddly even if I have all LED notifications disabled I get a flashing blue LED whenever I get an email if notifications are enabled. Doesn't appear that any of these LED apps will override that.
Dave
Just picked this up 2 days ago. Can't find anything really saying if light flow works or not. But even gosms the notification light doesn't work. Am I missing something? I have it enabled.

You can install LightFlow (or another LED manager) to manage your LED Notifications.

First make sure you have the led turned on...its in the settings. Light flow will work but you have to disable talkback (its an Android problem not an LG issue) question.. does your led light up when you turn the phone on? ..when your phone is off turn it on if it lights up all the colors then its working if not then maybe a hardware issue.

I have the led turned on. When you say disable it you mean have the toggle to off correct? Yup, it goes through all the colors when booting up.

Went into apps and disabled it there. Still no go.
So anyone get lightflow to work? Doesn't seem to work for me.

Working for me. Did you enable it in accessibility settings and enable notifications for the individual apps you want notifications for (via Lightflow)?
I didn't try it with your AOSP Messaging app, yet. I wasn't even getting status bar notifications, though.

In your Accessibility Settings disable TalkBack and make sure Light Flow is enabled. Hopefully that straightens things out.

You need to actually go in to the main settings, General, apps, select talkback, force stop, and then disable it (you may need to uninstall updates first). I had the same problem a little while ago. Does it only say the letters using the LG keyboard? Mine didn't do it for other keyboards.
Also, if you use tasker at all, it can successfully control the led colors. If you want to play with it, you can assign different colors for specific notifications. I haven't done so yet for the ogp, but I made an app for the lgog (only one color for that led though). Also, if you look up something called "buttonled" by germainz here on xda, he has made a tasker profile and app that might work for you too.

I did a factory reset and went in and disabled talk back. Led works now with lightflow. Only thing that bothers me is when I test the new color, it'll blink new color then a different color then back to assigned color. That normal for this phone? Thanks for the help by the way.
