Read all GingerReal2 features here
Prerequisites:
- Make sure your 3 button combination works
- Flash with full battery, or atleast at 75%
- For your own safety, always disable lagfix
- Back-up all your apps, messages etc. All data will be wiped
Step 1
Download je base rom here
When GR is based on JVR then flash JVR is it based on JVS then flash JVS and so on
Step 2
- Extract you rom base
Pasword = samfirmware.com
- Open Odin v1.82
- Tick Re-Partition on and load the following files in Odin
PIT = s1_odin_20100512.pit
PDA = CODE.tar (it is the one with code in the name)
PHONE = MODEM.tar (it is the one with modem/phone in the name)
CSC = CSC.tar (it is the one with csc in the name)
Boot your phone into Download Mode (VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER)
Connect your phone and wait for Odin to say 'Added!!'
This will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes
After your phone booted, close Odin
Step 3
Let your phone start up this may take a while
Congratulations you are now on Android your rom base
Step 4
Download a semaphore kernel for your rom base
Start up odin again
PDA = Semaphore_kernel_xxxxxxxxx.tar
Connect your phone when it is in download mode and click on start
Now let your phone boot fully again
Update to latest GingerReal
Note1: GingerReal2 is using WipeDetection when you are not on GingerReal2 the rom will wipe!
Note2: GingerReal2 is using custom modem/kernel detection. When you put your own zImage/modem.bin on your sdcard these will be installed otherwise the ones that comes with GingerReal
1. Download the latest GingerReal and put it on your SD-card
2. Boot in recovery
3. Choose for "install zip from SD" then "choose zip from sd"
5. Apply the GingerReal-X.X-XXXX.zip
6. Wait till it is done and reboot your device after that
7. Wait till it is fully booted
Congratulation you are now on the latest GingerReal

GingerReal2 R1.1.9 Release notes
This build comes with some more ICS theming.
The nicest thing is the dialer from ICS.
The red marker is the video call button. I made a one pixel to aim.
Because 4 buttons breaks the nice dialer I made it this way.
Change between diffrent dpi's
Now GingerReal supports multi-dpi I made some simple scripts to switch between diffrent values.
The values that are supported by the rom are 240 - 220 - 200

Very good ROM as usual! Already flashed and everything is working fine, even with no-wipe!
The only problem is BT with the kernel, I'll try with Galaxian, and if it is not working good I'll go back to DarkCore.

You can just release a patch for the JVQ . In the version 7.0 i had many bootloops so i have not the opportunity to instal the patch. Can you make one for the JVQ please?(we know that it will not work for the default browser, but we have Opera/Firefox). Looking for your response . Thank you very much .

V6.x basepack is okay.
I had a V7.x basepack but had a lot off issues with enabling ext4

Those apps are in Market. You can use SetCPU also.

Installation:
If you are a pro and already have cLK and CWM installed, you know the drill (partition 300-5 since v0.5). If you are new to Android flashing on the HD2, I recommend stirkac's excellent tutorial. All necessary files can be found in HotMod utilities.
1. Download ROM and copy zip file to your SD Card.
2. Download HotMod utilities v0.2. Extract the zip file.
Flash cLK
1. Enter SPL by holding VOL DOWN while switching on the phone
2. Flash with CustomRUU.exe from HotMod utilities.
Install CWM Recovery
1a. Power up your phone while holding BACK key
1b. Plug in USB cable. Driver is located in folder HotMod utilities/google-usb_driver, if necessary.
2. On command prompt, switch to HotMod utilites folder and type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery_leo4014.img
3. Reboot (type fastboot reboot or manually)
Install ROM
4. While powering on, hold HOME key
5. Select "install zip from sdcard"
6. Select HotMod_vX.X.zip
7. Confirm, relax, reboot, enjoy
MAGLDR:
To use MAGLDR, download HotMod_MAGLDR__utilities_[partition_+_cwm_4.0.1.4]_v0.2 and HotMod_MAGLDR_patch_v0.1. Copy rom and patch to sd card.
Install MAGLDR 1.13.
Install CWM 4.0.1.4 and partition layout using DAF.exe from zip.
Install rom via CWM, don't reboot yet.

EU Users: Memory on NAND is low. Prepare your sd card by creating 1 gig ext3/4 partition. Install Apps2SD for HotMod via CWM. Transfer dalvik to sd.
Known issues:
robotic voice on first call. Solutions: a) Disable "Audible touch tones" from Settings / Audio. b) Enable + disable speaker during robotic call. c) Hang up. b + c will work until reboot.
Low incall volume: if incall volume is too low for you, delete /system/etc/firmware/htcleo.acdb. This will make you suffer from high mic gain...

this ROM sounds very good but are there any screenshoots? What is not like the Original?
Is this Version also for the EU-Version and what Partition Layout?
Is it also Multilanguage (German)?
Most important question: Is it only for cLK or also für MAGLDR with CWM?

Everything is stock, thats why I made no screenshots. Maybe I should include some tomorrow. I removed some HTC widgets that I never use, but the important stuff is there. If something is deeply missed, I will add it again.
It should work for the EU model, but I couldn't test as I only posses the TMoUS model.
It is Multilanguage, and especially German is working just fine gps.conf is already set to Germany, so enjoy!

No problem bro, maybe it's even better, "all" who workrd on Sense rom goes to Ginger with a 2.1 but with all due respect for their hard work i can't stand on it more than two, three days. Glitches, camcorder, power menu and the rest smaller bugs it's still, even after big progress, too much for me. After many many task29 I would like to have fully working, daily using and whatevering rom, sense rom, for more than three days:-D and
I'm not Bond, James Bond
PS: But that doesen't mean that I will not try a new Pyramid 1.8 from Dung also:-D

You exactly described the purpose of this rom. This is meant to be the fully working daily driver. Camera and camcorder are working perfectly and there are no graphic glitches. Hope you like it. If there are any bugs, let me know.

No, not at the moment. You could try, probably it will boot, but there won't be RMNET, the only feature that you are missing with cLK. I could deliver that, but I think you should try the original (see first post).

After cooking and making mwakiousROM® based on MIUI and making Mwakious Flying ROM® (MFR®) HC for HTC Flyer I have decided to create a sense based ROM.
I wanted to create one version that has everything(almost) ,stable(every day use), quick(no blocks and glitses) and nice.Thats why a searched and added like always all the good ingedients that I could find….ALWAYS fresh stuff…

I went to the store(xda),i bought meat(a good base for the build), i bought sauce(kernel)ty Kefir and i have selected vegetables(files from every ROM/Build that i found).I put everything in a pot (ktchen) and there it is.....mwakiousSENSATIONALrom®

AFTER FIRST INSTALL ,WHEN YOU SEE THE LOCKSCREEN TAKE OUT THE BATTERY(DO NOT MAKE SETTINGS)REBOOT AND NOW DO EVERYTHING!!!this way NO freezes and wifi can be connected!!
because of the changes in the base of this ROM,it WIPES!SO DO A BACKUP FIRST!

step0: Repartition your sd card to two partitions, a fat32 one and an ext4 one with the size of your choice (1024mb preferred)
*if you already have magldr or clk installed proceed to step 2, otherwise continue reading onto step1:
step1:
1-1: Install hspl 2.08 for your phone if you don't have it yet. [search the forums]
1-2: Do task29[search the forums]
1-3: Install proper radio (radio leo 2.15.50.14) [search the forums].
step2: If you have magldr follow 2-1-x, if you have clk follow 2-2-x.
magldr:
2-1-1: install this tool by ksubedi (thanks), and then open it.
2-1-2: From the top, choose magldr repartiton, from left choose "custom" and set cahce to "5mb" .. Click repartition, then type in 180. Wait for it to finish and then factory reset - wipe cache - wipe dalvik from cwm and then flash the rom from recovery.
clk:
2-2-1: Same as first step of magldr.
2-2-2: From top choose clk repartition, from right set it to 180mb and just below it select 5mb cache .. Then click on repartition and proceed.
2-2-3: After it finishes, from top panel select clk install recovery and click on install. Wait for it, then make a factory reset - wipe cache - wipe dalvik from cwm then flash rom from recovery.

important notes, read before installing ! :
1- this rom uses partitions of 180-5, otherwise it won't boot !
2- this rom wipes everything, so make a backup before installing.
sometimes, it may not fully wipe everything. When i make a small update that doesn't wipe, i will tell you.
3- the installation may take <20 minutes, so just wait, it is installing and it's not stuck.
4- after installing and making the first boot, don't touch your phone. Let it rest for 10 minutes so the scripts would do there job!
5- after the first boot, make all settings except google log in,after finishing wait 5 minutes and restart your device (preferably twice) to get the best out of this rom,now do whatever you want.
6- you need a secondary partition on your sd card, otherwise there might be consequences.
7- format is not the same as wipe. Wipe cleans partition's data. Format cleans partition's data and also parition's files.

QUESTIONS:
I AM TRYING TO INSTALL THE ROM ZIP FROM RECOVERY AND I SEE ABORTED....WHY?IS THE ZIP BAD?
first look if you downloaded it right,second : DID YOU DO A CLEAN INSTALL??(maybe the problem,not always)
if all of these things are allright do this:
in recovery do every wipe 2-3 times EVEN IF YOU COME FROM TASK29...
in recovery go to power off,and hit to close the phone,re-enter in recovery do wipe one time and install...
now YOU are happy and I am happy....
MY PHONE FREEZES WHEN I USE IT THE FIRST TIME(WIFI OR PROGRAM OR WALLPAPER)
when the phone first boots only do settings do not connect to the wifi,reboot,and leave the phone settle,add your google account and leave the phone settle.....

yes its true install time is very slow...hole process takes 20-30 min...
first screnn HTC(black)would take some time...reading sripts,but if you see the alchemy bottle your ok,(if it passes 20' in the black HTC screen restart.

I had 2 reboots while using my email settings but now everything
seems to have settled down installing my apps from backup.

Have you stripped the debug code from apk(s) in this rom like in your sensation XL one ?
It seemed to have increased fluidity by a great margin, could be placebo though.

I really like this rom, however, I have seen 3~4 freezes while I'm using it today. It is better than the first rom, but anyway, it freezes a lot than the other roms... I am gathering the log, but I don't know why. It could be because of certain apps, but I'll keep on tracking.

sorceforge, maybe try a 210 or 220 system partition, I'm thinking from diffrent users posting a bigger partition help

AM using a tmobile htc hd2 and never had any freezing issue using 200/5 not even once

OK, I'll try it. I'm performing resizing, full-wipe and re-installing the rom. Thanks.
By the way, how about deleting android_audio.mp3 next time. I always get annoyed when listening to it.
P.S. : It is just a suggestion; do you have any plans to port Bliss 1.29.401.7 or 1.42.1400.6 rom if you have any time? They look really good. Also, the machine's specification is very similar to our HD2, so maybe it would be helpful.
Honestly, I've tried to port 1.42.1400.6 rom to HD2, but I failed. According to the log, it seems that there were problems on somewhere of audio codec.

I'm using EU HD2, and as I consider your advise, maybe the problem could be solved if I format my SD card... Well...

I will try later but i think it could work with CWM 190 Edit; yes it works, may be the same with CWM 185
Don't try Bluetooth and camcorder, for the rest everything seems ok...
No freeze, smooth and fast (faster than Sense3.5 Urdroid)... don't need overclocking...

I find the data connection almost perfect, I don't get the hung on connecting like runymede rom

you can open the m10 files with VTS and you can change the pictures and make a new a.apk from VTS Project. it´s easy i have change this in my sense 3.5 rom with sense 4.0 style

For me in Clk it's Htcdialer ... and fix and wipe and the same
Next release will'be better.

yes.For eu users, If it's dataonext with dalvic on nand, and 370mb system partition, that makes about 30mb for userdata on nand which is probably not enough for dalvic cache

I agree.. the best ROM size should be about 100-120 MB. the rest can be on EXT partition.

OK tested tonight ...

NEVER doubt about the Amazing Leo.
Recovery on my EU model as suggested by Daekin
Issues:
- it's not possible to choose which kind between disk, etc., connecting the phone to a PC;
- stock weather widget need to be resized;
- data connection stops when the screen goes off, but not completely sure about that;
Keep on testing

Isn't it possible to use resized apk and frameworks from other ics sense roms for devices with the same resolution as our leo if so couldnt we just port them over.

List of issues:
- weather icon (i.e. sun) not visible;
- when I press the red button and choose to shut off, HTC shutdown animation starts but device keeps on being on.
The moment I download something from the Store, phone becomes slow....

Sound seems good.
Gallery prewiew must be resized and doesn't work good too..
