This may seem like an extremely dumb question but is there actually a video app (with it's own icon) on the Galaxy Nexus (non LTE version)?
I can play video files by going into a file manager and finding the videos but I can't find the app icon. I feel a bit silly but I thought it would be sillier not to ask.
Any help is appreciates

The "video" app is apart of Gallery.
Maybe you're looking for this, https://market.android.com/details?...SwyLDEsImNvbS5nb29nbGUuYW5kcm9pZC52aWRlb3MiXQ..
Oooh thanks. I feel really silly now but thanks for your input.

Looking for Video Editing App
Hi,
I have been looking for this as well. A video editor would make this really useful. On my old N95 you could do video editing functions such as taking several video clips, edit each one then splice them together with titles, sub-titles, transitions, credits and soundtrack.
It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S in Asia pacific region seems to offer video editing if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if one of the talented developers could get hold of an APK and somehow make it available to use onthe european version?
I'm using asia version of galaxy s but where to get the video editing app?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
nope....the video editing app was only seen in some review units. Otherwise, no SGS out there has the video editing app.
That really bad!
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Maybe a dumb question , but with all the different review units out there, can't we get a copy of the SW from a review unit, and reverse engineer (pull out) the APK?
If there is an app like that why they don't release to public?

I'd like the video editing app. I bought my omnia hd and that also omitted the video editor they used in the advertising..samsung said there was no demand for it and took it out before shipping. Twats. Lol.

Hopefully will have something like the imovie

It was on the Samsung Apps Market, but you can't save anything. The app just FC when you try to save. Samsung never bothered fixing it either.
Before I get flamed - I already searched and googled for the YouTube apk that used to be in paranoid android ROM.
Or honeycomb where the app was actually like a 360 degree wall when scrolling thru video search
Does anybody know or have a link to that apk. ?
ThanXx in advance

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that there's no separate app for tablet-style YouTube. I think the app changes its look as the dpi changes. That's how Paranoid Android changes the UI between phone and tablet
I know but I had the app on my nexus a few months ago b4 I lost it. I forgot to upload it to my dropbox I had it extracted from the 1st build of p.a. ROM now I can't find it. Also I heard it was originally from the honeycomb YouTube.

If you have extracted it before, why don't you do it again?

There isn't a separate tablet app, PA just shows that layout (both the phone and tablet UI is built into the youtube app)
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
it all has to do with dpi settings, if you were to change the dpi that the current youtube app behaves as, it would look the same (or similar) to how it used to.
Well.. just a thought probably won't work.
Why not set all the DPI settings the way they should and then copy the app. Install on a different ROM and see if it works. In my mind I'm thinking it will save the DPI settings in the app.

Just a quick question that I havent come across in the forums. Im an organization freak and I just wanted to know how I can edit the titles of my songs to change them if they arent properly titled. I tried through a file explorer and even better, through root explorer but it hasnt worked. If someone can help it would be appreciated.

I share the same freakish obsession. My library has over 10,000 titles and all of them are perfectly organized and file named.
The answer is not Android. It is a PC application called MediaMonkey. It will auto-organize all of your music, tag it, rename files and convert them on the fly as it syncs with your mobile devices. There is no better solution at any price, and it is free. Even iTunes users switch after trying it, and they are usually too stubborn to admit that iAnything is not the best.

Haha, yes I can only agree. But thanks this has been something that has been bothering me everytime I open up my music application. Its greatly appreciated. Ill be sure to check it out and report back

http://www.tuneupmedia.com/ tuneup try it out I bought this like 4 years ago
Sent from my SGH-T889 using XDA Premium HD app
I, too, use media monkey. Rather than fixing each song manually, I auto tag from the web, to ensure I get cover art as well. Just stinks to get started, but now I ensure everything is in order as I ingest the songs into my library.
Yeah, I tried tune up but media monkey is free so I cant argue with that. Im getting used to it as we speak.

For this phase of getting your files in order, look in the directory view and find a folder called Files To Edit (or something like that). It shows various folders of files that are missing important information.

Okay, works great thanks for the help.
Btw, while we're on the topic is there any mp3 downloaders any of you would recommend? I use an app that doesnt really have many of the songs I look for.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Sorry, I'm no help with that. I always buy full CD's and rip them to FLAC. It may be old school, but I have never found an mp3 source that was anything but unsatisfactory. I do convert to mp3, but I use VBR and a high bitrate.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Ahhh, I understand. Well to be honest, l am about to do the same. Itll be much more convienent in many ways.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Depends on the quality you want and how much of an audiophile you are. You could use tubemate to simply convert any video on youtube to a mp3. I have done that with some songs I just can't find elsewhere.
What kind of music are you looking for?
Well I used to do the same with youtube except taking every single song individually grew to be a pain. Im just looking for anything that I feel like listening to at the moment. Im currentley in the process of downloading some of System of a Down's albums. Its usually whatever im in the mood for. But sometimes I use an app on the market and it downloads the song yet the artist and the album are incorrect.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Ah, gotcha, yep, that's the price you have to pay. I tend to make channels in Last.fm, and let it play music similar to bands I like. Found countless new (to me) bands that way.

There's an Android app called MyTunes Lite that lets you edit ID tags on the phone.
I like the stock video editor from Galaxy S II and I was wondering is there any way to bring that to Note II. I try bringing it back from titanium backup but it got fc. I would appreciate if someone could help me with that.
I've been looking around all day for a good video editor. The one from the Note 1 supposedly FC's, and it's nowhere to be found on here either.
Have you had any luck finding an alternative?
No. So I'm just using my s2 for video editing this days

Meh. I work on music videos on the go on my phone, just for the project's sake. I used to do it fine on my iPhone, I really wish there was an Android equivalent considering the GN2 is an epic phone.
Music videos like adding music to existing clips?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
I sort of film music videos on the go, often slowing clips down, transitioning them, adding effects or adjusting color occasionally, adding in identity text in the beginning, or mixing a secondary audio track with a clip's audio.
That sounds cool. I'd like to learn how to do some of that since it really interest me.. let me know if you find a somewhat decent app for it.

Ah definitely, unfortunately Android is suffering a whole lot with the video editing department, almost makes me wish i had a (gasp) damn ipod touch or something.

Just thought I would share this if you haven't discovered it yet. I was looking to see if I could find a better YouTube experience other than the official app and found this. Please disregard if this was already mentioned.

Awesome for multitasking, especially if your watching a tutorial or something. The last update added a lot of cool features, so I expect big things to come in future updates.

Does anyone know why Google play says its not compatible with my nexus 7? (lte)
Very confusing coz I have it installed and works good. But for sure I have a little problems with permissions this app request. Why the video player application needs ability to "Redirect outgoing phone call"????
