1. Can you mount /data (during backup)
2. Can you boot into it using vol+ + home + power
If not then Galaxy 5's port works too..
I think you have posted in the wrong section.

I think all samsung galaxy series get cwm 7 but galaxy y was getting it
i think if cwm 7 port on galaxy y it can upgrade into 2.3.7

Cwm7???
I am running cwm4 (I have galaxy fit)...and up till now only cwm5 and cwm4 is available for my device!!!
Maybe you are talking about cm7 (cyanogenmod7)...that is a rom, cwm is a recovery...
Even my device doesn't have official cm on it (there are only unofficial ones)...
So you will have to be patient
2.3.7 was for nexus.
i have a better solution... there's a .zip from the skin1980 thread. each time you need clockwork, just go in recovery mode and apply the zip, it will boot the CWM

Please let me know how to proceed. My Android version is 2.3.3 Early help will be really appreciated. I want to install Cyanogen Mod 9.1. Hope to hear soon.

It's better to flash CWM via Recovery. Look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32202039&postcount=4
Does it start at all? Cause i think you hardbricked your phone. Check my stickied thread for more details about rom manager.

umm he actually means tht he couldnt install CWM via ROM manager because his gio wasnt listed
And why using ROM Manager to install CWM? I think it's easier to install it via Recovery.

Thanks for the replies. Really appreciate the prompt replies. I have not bricked my phone as I was not able to Flash Clock Work Mod recovery. I have uninstalled the ROM Manager. Could you please ellaborate as to how to flash CMW via Recovery? My phone' android version is 2.3.3 This is the first time I am rooting my phone so I dont have that much of knowledge.
Thanks
Search xda for 'superoneclick' for root
Than use home+power buttons to enter recovery mode and install cwm-v2.zip or something.
But you should have root acces already otherwise theres no sense you installed rom manager

Hello dear users of xda. I have a serious problem. My phone is bricked after installing Chainfire 3d driver on jellybean ( i forgot it will not work on JB)
So then i wanted to reflash the Jb MC8 but odin does'nt detect my phone ;(. Tried on 3 pc's tried reinstalling drivers, tried Heimdall still the same.
Recovery mode works, but i dont have a backup. (BTW i have stock recovery of JB MC8) Tried my friend's cable (she has ace 2 too) did'nt work. My flash counter is 2 so i am afraid i might even have to buy a new phone. Can anyone help???

How to install Twrp ([Team Win Recovery Project)
Now first of all credits goes out to Team Win for making this amazing custom recovery, secondly make sure you have root if not you could find it on the forum somewhere. Anyway you might want to backup contacts and data and stuff like that in case you accidentally brick your phone or something. Lets get straight in!
Requirements:
A clear thinking brain
Galaxy ace 2 (attempting to do this on another device might suffer unforeseen consequences)
mod editload mode by clicking (Volume up+Home button+Power button) at the same time
then it should come up with some warning then click continue.
4) Plug the phone into the computer via USB cable
5) Open up Odin and click on PDA then open up the file GT-I8160-TWRP-Kernel.tar.md5
6) Hopefully you have install the USB driver because the rectangle just above should appear as COM(number)
7) Then if you are staisfied and checked everything is in order, go ahead and click start!:fingers-crossed:
8) Hopefully after it finnishes it should reboot if you wanna check go ahead and boot into recovery mode and hopefully it should install!

I am really new at this can you give me the link to that

Thanks for this, flashed it to my stock rooted ace2, HK band yo~ It rockz~!
then i flashed cm11, it run nicely. so i try to make a backup and found that twrp was replaced by cwm, so i went striaght to flash twrp back. then the phone refuse to boot... it hang at "SAMSUNG GT-I8160" screeen
anybody experiencing the same, or it this just me doing the step wrong?
I factory reset before flashing cm11, the flash gapp, then factory reset again before cm11 first boot.
after that i flash twrp again via odin and then hang at boot.
Thank you.
thank You OP
thank you, thank you,. thank you!
I have had a bit of a nightmare recently with my Ace 2 as one of my recent posting shows.
there are far too many hits on Google to so called tutorials that simply do not work and I have spent years (or is that weeks?)
in getting my phone downgraded/rooted and with my preferred CWM.
the last straw was all the none working advice to get CWM installed, and then I found your thread.
10 minutes later TWRP was installed (a permanent one also!) - and my phone backup up.
all together now -
"happy days are here again -the skies above are clear again - dum de dum de dum de dum! :good::laugh:
hello guys, i need a help. somedays ago i flashed slimrom by polishvodka to my phone and my borther's. it's working without any annoying bugs until yesterday my lil bros ask me to update his phone to kitkat. so i download new maclaw's latest rom.
here is the problem, i turn off the phone and took the sdcard to copy the new rom from my pc. but when i entering recovery mode ( Home+power+volume Up ) i got nothing but blackscreen. i though that was rom problem so i reflash stock JB MG2. the rom boot up succesfully but recovery still same. i try to dowgrade to GB russian with pit and repartition and it's work. i can enter recovery mode. but if i flash any jb firmware ( MH1, MF1/2, MG2 ) i cant enter recovery, just blackscreen. my local fellow's suggest me to flash D-Kernel as it has built in CWM using universal kernel flasher. but this app request root. how can i root this phone if i cant enter recovery mode? please i need solution.

Recovery (on the Ace 2) is integrated in the kernel.
And it's certainly surprising that on a freshly reflased device stock recovery doesn't work...
I'd personally try repartitioning with a 3-part firmware...

i thought so, and i've already flashing with Russian GB and JB MB4. both have pit and repartitioning but no luck. the flashing completely done, odin show succesfull and the rom boot up without problem but when entering recovery mode, still blank screen. i've downloade 2 GB firmware and 4 JB stock. mixing them and repeated downgrading/upgrading but still, stock recovery never show up . only str3tch72 post help me get cwm back. but after installing new rom/firmware, the blank recovery came back again
It is possible that you broke some partitions on your phone.. Can yoh get any logcat when you are on that blank recovery screen ?

The rom you are trying to flash must have an old update binary/script.
Download CWM 6.0.4.5 and flash it, then you can install the rom.

Try to flash stock rom, download it from sammobile.com
If it won't works then try to find pre rooted rom for it
I rooted mine with pre rooted file, it's about 1.3gb but I think it's last option for you
And can you give me link to cwm recovery for sm-t211?

That's why I said to use 6.0.4.5. It is available at the same link.

Perhaps, you could try this:
www .androidfilehost. com / ?fid = 23329332407567959
just remove spaces
but personally i'd recommend Philz Touch Recovery for Tab 3 (there's unofficial mod)
