I forgot how its really called but the purpose is that you pay money for example 50$ and you get visa card with 50$ limit which is usable on paypal, ebay etc. some of people sell them on web to make profit but I think you can get it oficial dont know its possible on all country because mine dont offers that

I'm still using Electron. Blame it on me laziness, but i haven't cared to upgrade since i turned 18. But regardless, both ebay purchases and paypal works fine.

I think what you're looking for is a "prepaid" credit card. There's usually an activation fee you have to pay on purchase, and you can either charge them with a given amount of money, or they'll be sold in different denominations depending on the brand.
These have been available for a few years in Canada, you can buy them at various retail stores or at post offices.
Once the card is active, you can check your remaining balance on the issuer's website and use it like any other credit card.
One little caution: terminals in places like restaurants and gas stations that preauthorize an amount will decline the transaction if your remaining balance is below that amount, even if you have enough on the card to pay for your actual purchase.

Can I have $2 dollars?
so just to be clear, if we go into the store and use one of those payment kiosks we wont get the $2 charge right?
and to think you guys we're trying to make me feel bad about using 50gb/month.
A convenience fee is actually pretty common when paying bills online or over the phone, in my experience they've been closer to four dollars. That doesn't make it right by any stretch of the imagination though, frankly I'm surprised it has taken them this long.
Also misleading title is misleading as the linked article says they might enact a convenience fee.

Makes no sense why that's good. They're just asking to be occupied. Well, within the rules of course, to pay their bills in store. Occupy nonetheless.

Guys. No one cares because all of you are going to continue to pay your bills every month, whether you use one of the new options to not be incurred with the charge or you just eat the charge.
Auto bill pay for me since they started it. I never had a problem. Never understood why more people don't use that option.

Yup same. Many places charge a convenience fee if you don't auto pay or use an e-check. Colleges even do it but its a percentage...which blows. 3% sounds fine until you remember you're paying $4k a semester...$120 extra is not a small fee just because you don't autopay.

Is there anyway to use this to purchase something from Google Play? I've tried adding it in as a prepaid card with the number, but no go. It would be nice to use this to buy a few apps or something.
How do I get my $10? Do I need to add one of my cards first?
Edit- never mind
Anyway to spend it on something fun? The only place I've used it is at 7-11 so I guess I could use the remaining balance on it for a few drops of gas
what? they recently introduced this prepaid feature and already axing it? why not keep it there as an option for those that don't have credit/debit cards..
this is typical of how google works.. if they don't make millions on something, kill it.

They are getting rid of it because you can use your own credit/debit card now with Google Wallet, so no need for them to keep the prepaid option.
I think the point was to have an option where people can just pay onto the 'cash account' at a retail POS like 7-Eleven as some people don't have a CC or debt card.

It wouldn't make any sense, the point of the per paid cards was a bit of an incentive to the quote unquote beta testers. And now that we can use any credit card, there's no point to it.

I really don't see the harm in leaving it up. If my aunt wanted to send me money, I had a prepaid card to charge her credit card to...then she won't ask why there's $5.09 used every few days (cigarettes) ha. But I guess I'll just get a real prepaid card and put it in my phone. But that kills the purpose of me using Google wallet. Not every place has a nfc reader thingie

From my experience and from what i have read the terms of use for in app purchases often dictate that the purchaser must be 13 or older or something along those lines so legally if someone under that age buys it they must refund it

I wish that were the case. I was able to buy the first one with a bit of persuading. But I returned it only to have the price drop 110 dollars so I bought the 2nd one. 3 different stores said it was against policy to sell without service plans. I called Customer service and they said the same thing. Who knows. But Just FYI they may be getting ready to stop selling the phone altogether . I had to purchase a 3rd due #2 dropping and shattered the screen. It rang up for 400 dollars.
