Ok, this just doesnt make sense to me and I cant find the setting. Hopefully its just easy and Im a n00b.
My gtalk and gmail app make a different sound than any other notification. Texts...droid life notifications...any notifications besides gmail and talk are the notification I have set in the sound settings. Those two remain completely different...does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to fix it?
Is this a ICS thing because my prior phones have never had this issue.
google talk and gmail each have their own notification settings, this way you can set an different notification sound for each one, so you can know what just came in by the particular chime that went off

So the other day I decided to start running CM10 and it's pretty awesome. Significant differences and running smooth for the most part, but I have realized I am not getting notifications that I should. Texts and calls are fine, but when it comes to Facebook notifications, Twitter updates, Emails, etc... I get nothing. I have all the correct setting on the apps to notify me as I always had it but for some reason it's not working now. Any suggestions? Anyone else have this issue?
Have you checked which audio files it's using for the notifications you're missing?
Your default notification audio file may be set to "silent". That's happened to me before. I just change it to an actual audio clip and it's fine from there on.
CM10 has no problem notifying me of facebook, etc.
Attached is where it says "silent" at the top.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I checked that on all the apps and specifically set ringtones that work so they aren't on silent. I'll look more into the phone settings but as far as the notification tones go I set it up so it's not on silent.
I'm not getting Twitter notifications at all even though they're set to enabled... I get Facebook ones, it only vibrates though. I'll have to check if it's on silent.

Some Facebook notifications come through now, but no Twitter updates at all. It can't be the app considering it worked fine on stock. Also, anyone know how to get stock navigation on CM10? It wasn't there when I installed g-apps and it's not in the market.
CM10.2 same issue
Hi!
I got same issues, some of my app don't sent me notification since i have tryed CM10.2.
Can anybody tell me what's wrong?
I 've checked my sound and apps setting and they're ok...
So???
So this is more of an annoyance than anything and I was curious if anyone else has this happen. On both the samsung calender and Google calendar I turn off the notifications, after a reboot the notifications are turned back on. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I missing something?
No one else has noticed this? Am I the only one it happens to?
All good here. What Rom are you running ? Did you do a clean install ?
You might be suffering from the annoying phenomenon that I am suffering from. My settings do not stick through reboots. It affects many application defaults settings. To date, I have found no one that can help me resolve that issue.
Yea, I've read your thread too. I was going to chime in there with my problem. I wonder what the issue is and if both are related.
This is still a really annoying problem. I can turn off all calendar notifications, and within an hour to a day they turn themselves back on. Rooted, stock, no mods.
Have you checked the reminder settings on Google Calender on the PC /Laptop ?
Yea, it still does it on Google calendar and samsung calender.
Hi.
I have Gmail app, and I've set the account NOT to vibrate. However I still get the vibration upon every Gmail notification.
Is there some kind of system setting overriding this? How do I fix?

Experiencing the same thing and can't figure it out. would love to know how to shut it off. didn't happen w/ my G2
Experiencing the same. Very keen to find out why.
Are you guys on unrooted? I'm rooted, some xposed settings and I have several irritating bugs that elude any fixing. Some I have to fix by installing 3rd party apps. Some like vibrations just can't be addressed until the bugs are removed.
Rooted with xposed here. I have a feeling it did this on full stock too.

I have the same problem
I have a brand new LG G3 from Verizon. I'm running 4.2.2 VS98510B operating system and Gmail version 4.9 (1271612). I am unable to get the phone to notify without vibrating when I get an email to my gmail account. (I have no other email accounts set up on the phone.) Its as if the "Vibrate" toggle found under Settings >> myEmailAddress >> Inbox sound & vibrate is completely broken. Is this a known bug? Is there a work around? Thanks
Hi All,
This is kind of a "What has happened since upgrade" question. Got my Marshmallow upgrade a week ago but other than that everything worked as it should. I got fed up with the battery drain so decided to do a factory reset. All went well but I have a lingering issue with Business Calender 2 and "Do Not Disturb" I was wondering if anyone uses this app and could test something for me or comment.
I use Do Not Disturb from 10:30pm to 7am and I have all calls allowed through but no notifications I have no apps ticked as a priority so that to me means any calls I get, all notifications register but do not give any sound.
Business Calender 2 however manages to get round this somehow and no matter how I set it up other than totally silent BC2 notifcations are still audible while the system is on DND. I want to know if its normal or something I have done so am asking if anyone else can check in any way or has had experience.
All other apps, Chrome, whatsapp, text, FB etc show in the status bar but do not sound.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
As an update, I removed BC2 and even with the inbuilt calender app it does the same thing. I looked at an old G3 I had running 5.1 and that has a tick box to allow calender notifications which I didnt have ticked so I think maybe that when I upgraded the G4 from 5.1 to 6 that setting stayed somehow and then when I factory reset it was gone.
I will also note here that I have searched everywhere and it appears that native Android 6.0 has toggles for calender and events to let through on priority screen which they were on 5.1 but they are nowhere to be seen in my priority screen on my G4.. Very frustrating, where have they gone?
It is annoying though as no notifications to me should include the calender.
Oh well..
Guys,
Can I just ask someone here with a non rooted LG G4 running Marshmallow to put their phone into "Do Not Disturb" and then set a calender appointment while its in that state and let me know whether the notifcation is audible or if the "Do Not Disturb" suppresses it. That way I will know one way or the other as a rebuild to find out is a little excessive and I dont know anyone else with a G4.
Appreciated.

I confirm that the calendar reminder notification ignores the "Do not disturb" status and is audible. Strange indeed..
Coming from a Nexus5 I wanted to bring across more ringtones/alarms and notification sounds from that device to my new OnePlus 3.
So I got them all from my Nexus 5 and moved them to my OP3.
I couldn't find where the default ones reside, so googled and read (somewhere - don't know where) that they can be added to Internal Storage/Alarms, Internal Storage/Notifications and Internal Storage/Ringtones.
After doing so I've noticed that if I then pick a default (shipped) notification (not one of my imported ones) no sound plays when it should. Although within settings where you pick notifications the full combined list of default and custom notification sounds show.
So it seems that the Internal Storage/Notifications is completely overriding the default location when a notification should be played...
Has anybody else found this?
Could someone else test and back me up on this theory?
Does anybody know the location of the default directories for alarms/notifications and ringtones?
Thanks for any assistance!
Okay, so to update this myself, in case anybody else is having this issue... it isn't what i described above.
Not sure what it is, but for some reason having thought I fixed it yesterday by removing the notification sounds as mentioned above I noticed notifications had stopped again, today.
Then I noticed when I go to "settings > sound & notification > Default notification ringtone" and change the ringtone i don't hear the tone same being played as a sample....
After (and it took me ages to find this) modifying the ringer volume in sounds & notifications the notifications started sounding again.
So... what is causing it (I can't do this each time). For some reason my phone seems to auto switch to priority each night... yes, this shouldn't happen because OnePlus have implemented the slider functionality instead. But it seems to be happening and I think this might be causing the issues.
Why? Maybe because when I set my OP3 up I used NFC to migrate everything from my Nexus 5. Could this have also migrated my priority nighttime downtime settings, which are getting set at night and not unset in the morning?
Not sure if anybody else is interested, but I'll keep an eye on this and report back, in case I'm not alone...
Yes, this is the problem indeed. You should set it up as a new phone.
[I always do this even between flashes on the same phone... Yeah, I know it takes a lot of time]
