Hi. I realise perhaps that this may be best posted in the " [ODIN] ICL53F (no wipe, no recovery, no bootloaders) " thread, but as my account is new, i dont have permissiob to post there.
Im rrying to install the 4.02 update as per the previously mentioned thread, but whwn i put the gnex into odin mode and connect to win 7 x64 it doesnt recognise the usb device. I have previously istalled pdanet and android sdk and the fastboot drivers work fine.
Can someone please point me in the right direction to download odin mode drivers? Thanks..
PS I have already tried KIES and contrary to what one user suggested in the 4.02 thread, uaing device manager to upgrade thw drivers online does not work, for me at least.

So... after spending 2 hours searching and asking around in various android irc channels i come to you XDA...
I have an ATT SGS3 that i used odin to install CWM and subsequently root, etc etc.
I went to do another today on the same machine but when going into recovery [cwm] windows tells me no device drivers were found. Ive tried the original device as well and it throws the same error. If i boot into android it uses the drivers.
I've re installed the drivers at least 10 times using various methods. ive tried updating the driver via device manager also with no joy. Any help would be appreciated.

In linux when i LSUSB it shows nothing when in CWM.
I cant believe no one else is having this issue.
Try installing the Universal Naked Drivers from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766220.
I suggest unpacking the drivers, booting your phone to recovery, and then connecting it to your computer. When Windows tries to install the drivers, cancel out of any search it's doing and point it to the location you unpacked the drivers. If you do it this way, you will use the official Samsung drivers when booted into your ROM and the Universal Naked Drivers when in recovery.

Hi guys. Im a noob, first post here and need some help. Be searching all day for how to load a stock rom to my device GT-N5110.
Heres the low down.
Purchased in Australia. No samsung updates applied.
Successfully rooted with framaroot. Was running framaroot for more than a month
Install busy box today in normal mode I think. I chose the safe option.
Edited build.prop product model so I could install Navigon
Navigon working fine
Now..........
Unable to change the product name back using es explorer or file expert.
Thought it would change after restart but device entered bootloop. I think busybox was the culprit. Should have looked up what its all about.
Discovered recovery mode and did factory data reset. Can access odin screen on device too.
Device boots but hangs on language selection screen
I have found and downloaded stock rom for it that I found here somehow
I tried "Mrjraider" tutorial "how to flash back to a stock rom"
but odin crashes whenever I load the rom file and it wont recognize my GN8.0
Computer runs on windows 8. Kies is up to date too. Kies reconizes device but is unable to update or anything
Was running odin 4.43 with AriesVE.ops in compatabillity win xp sp3 with administrator .
can try on a win7 computer tomorrow.
This is the name of the file its about 1.2 Gb....... N5110UEDMD1_N5110XARDMD1_HOME.tar.md5 do I need to rename this or something
There was also a .dll that was in the package, whats with that?????
be looking through this forum all day and night and cant quite find what im looking for. If what I seek is here please point me to it. Or if any one here in Brisbane, can fix it for me,What are your thoghts? PM me.
Just want my baby back working again.
when it comes to phones, Kies and Odin never play nice together, so it may be the same with these things..
get kies completely off your computer, and your tablet, reboot, and try Odin again...also try a different cable and a different USB port if at first it doesnt work properly..
will give it a bash. cheers

I had my Galaxy S3 rooted on 4.0.4 ICS with no problems for several months, however when I wanted to upgrade to 4.1 Jellybean via OTA I quickly learned that the OTA update won't work on a rooted OS. I installed an called Voodoo OTA which claimed to be able to temporarily unroot you device so you can get the OTA Jellybean update. It failed, did not accomplish what it claimed to be able to do, however what it did do was patially unroot my phone to a state that it can neither be unrooted fully or re-rooted back to a full rooted state. I did a full clean wipe and factory reset and I am still in the same position. I have used the Android Toolkit for S3 to flash it back to factory state it just hangs in ODIN at the boot.img, I have attempted to root and un-root with the Android Toolkit multiple methods and .tar files, nothing, just hangs when it gets to the imaging part.
The phone is fully functional, but I feel imprisoned by the phone now as it operates like an unrooted phone, but I can't upgrade it.
Can anyone help me out of this, even to just get back to a rooted phone.
Thank you to anyone and everyone for your advice!
I will donate to any developer that can get my phone back to working order!

I am desperate at this point , I have spent 2 almost 3 days trying to get my phone back to stock or rooted state. I have scoured Google, XDA and other Android phones. If anyone wants to volunteer and help me on or offline I will gladly donate generously.
I'd recommend forgetting about that tool kit for now. You should download the latest version of Odin v3.07, twrp recovery (tar file), and supersu.zip, and try doing everything manually; flash twrp through PDA from Odin, and supersu.zip through Twrp recovery if you get that far. The files are easy to find, so I'm not going to post links just yet.

I did what you said, but only after I figured out that I was using the wrong driver, correct device, wrong model. I used a USB driver cleaner, cleaned them all off, wiped the device, installed the driver and reconnected then I followed your instructions!:good:
I found these instructions on the AT&T Samsung forum for how to clean your drivers:

Here's what worked for me after literally trying everything under the sun (compiled steps from various sources):
Steps to Safely Cleanup and Remove old USB Mass Storage Drivers on your PC
Shut down your computer. Unplug your USB storage devices: USB Disks, flash, cams, CD/DVD, etc.
==> Other USB devices like keyboards, mice and LAN adapters can stay plugged in
Boot computer back up. Click for how to determine whether you are running 32 or 64 bit Windows
Download drivecleanup.zip, unzip and save to your desktop. Move the 32 or 64 bit version of DriveCleanup.exe toC:\Windows\System32
Open a command prompt window as follows:
==> For XP only: You must have Admin privileges. Click Start->Run, enter cmd
==> For Vista and Windows 7: You must open an elevated command prompt window!
After the command prompt enter: drivecleanup.exe
==> Your command prompt window should be similar to my example below.
==> If, instead, you get an error message like Command not recognized it means you didn't move Drivecleanup.exe to the right directory
Reboot.
Download the latest USB drivers here:http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SGH-I747MBBATT Click the tab at the bottom that says "Manuals & Downloads" then Software then the link for the Device(Install),USB Driver (Software) (ver.v1.5.14.0)
Intstall Drivers
Reboot
Unplugged or disable your internet connection ***CRITICAL***
On your S3 go to Settings>About device>Check for updates and install the update (eventhough we next do a hard reset the new firmware is worth it if only for the brightness feature added to the notification drop down).
Do a hard reset on your Galaxy S3 instructions for that here: http://www.hard-reset.com/samsung-galaxy-s3-hard-reset.html
Turn on S3 (without USB plugged in) and don't login to your Android account ***CRITICAL***
Plug in USB and it should install all the drivers at long last ***SIGH***
Login to your Android account with the USB plugged in and you should be good to go!
Thanks again for helping me out!

Uninstall the drivers again, then Try using USBDeview and delete all the devices related to android and samsung... this will remove the possibility of any device driver not being reinstalled properly by windows...
USBDeview 32-bit
USBDeview 64-bit
After this restart the pc and try installing drivers and connect the phone to see if it works...
U can try reinstalling samsung kies.

What's the issue with your current rom? If it's working fine don't play with it, if it's not then maybe we can fix the issue.
im using windows 8.1. working & able to flash 4.4.2 with Odin 3.0.9
try install PdaNet & KIES 3
I tried all things you wrote but without any success. At least I did a new installstion of windows 8.1 but also without success. I think if its ossible for me to come into recovery mode I can Flash cwm Version of rom from my sd Card. It seems the onlyest Way to Repair my smarty.
Any tricks to get recovery mode.

Well, what's actually wrong with it, other than Win 8.1.1 not seeing it? You haven't told anyone what problems you're having other than that. It could be just something simple that someone here can help you with; that doesn't mean you have to reflash it...
Bricked - yes or no? - briefing my problem
Briefing my problem for better understanding my problem:
1. i wanted to do clean installation of sammobile rom 4.4.2 by preparing my n7100 before flashing new costum rom by deleting previous rom via a script.
2. after doing this my smartphone isn't recognized by windows 8.1 Update 1 - 64 bit
3. I tried also windows 8.1, 8 and 7 without any success.
4. i'm not be able to flash new custom rom via odin
5. on sd-card i had a cwm of rom and a backup of previous rom version, too
6. i tried to get into recovery mode by pushing sound+, on-switch and home by pushing at the same time
7. i got always immediately into download mode or in bootloop since boot sound starts (it's difficult to reconstruct the exactly way, but i had the problem not to go into recovery mode mot time before. therefore i do it always by "rom manager" appfrom chainfire).
8. i'm not be able to flash new custom rom via recovery mode
9. then i tried all tricks by searching the prroblem by google but all methods didn' work
10.. i'm be able to load my smartphone and the led lights, too.
this is why i think about my n7100 is bricked.
please, please help me!
thanks a lot
So you're bootlooping?
Your best bet is to try to access it from an older version of Windows. Probably you have a bad driver somewhere and it's causing conflicts. I have similar issues from W8, but it's fine on older OS's.
If an older version of Windows can access the device, then you should be able to reflash it. I suggest trying to drop Dr Ketan a PM, he's very knowledgeable and helpful.
see item 3, please.
im on windows 8.1
just download the lastest Samsung Kies (Samsung Kies 3) and install it.
try this

:good: dr.Kretan was right.. After coming home from hospital i was able to connect my smarty to my home pc and flash kitkat 4.4.2 (france edition by sammobile) via odin.
1000 thanks to all of you for helping to solve my problem :good::good::good:
but one question is open: it's still impossible for me to get into recovery mode i don't understand tihs.any idea?
Hello...
I just got my Samsung Galxy S4 Tmobile SGH-M919 from a first user. Later, i found out the Wifi and BT would not work but as i have experienced/read on some threads, that might be issue of Kernel so i am not worried.
Now, i will like to root my device. I got every files downloaded and ready but ODIN WOULD NOT CONNECT TO MY DEVICE!!!
First of All.. My device details
- Device - SGH M919
- OS - KK 4.4.2 (STOCK)
- Bootloader - M919UVUNB4
Now, before i start getting replies... Here are what i have tried.
-(DEVICE DEBUGGING FIXED SET)
-(PC ADB & FASTBOOT READY)
1. Of course, i have USB Drivers installed... I uninstalled and Re-Installed - Same!
2. I installed Latest Kies ... Same!!!
3. I read on one thread about Kies3 working for FW 4.3. I got Kies3.... Installed.... Same!!!
4. I tried several ODIN Versions 3.07, 3.09, 1.85, 3.10 ... Same!!!
5. I watched in a Youtube Video to remove battery while in Download Mode and Connected to PC... Same!!!
The only step i havnt is TO FORMAT (WIPE & RELOAD WINDOWS) my PC as that would not be a welcomed option. I have tonnes of files i dont wanna loose.
Anyone with another means to get My Device Rooted and CWM/TWRP Installed...
I would really appreciate.
Thanks !
SLOVED!!!!
The Problem was the USB DRIVER. Later found the right USB Driver. Now Connected on ODIN.
Thanks for viewing....
