Ok got my Galaxy Nexus and connected and synced up to my Exchange server and was happy to find that Stock Android Email now supports HTML Emails! But now my recurring outlook appointments are off by an hour. I googled and found this:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4628
It says it was "fixed" in Honeycomb and should be in ICS as well. I never noticed this issue as I have been using Touchdown for years now but always hated not being able have a unified calendar.
Have you found an answer for this? I tried searching elsewhere to no avail...

Stranger still, only some whole day recurrent appointments (birthdays) are off by one hour. Some are not off. On my Galaxy Note.
And we do not use DST at all.

Android Newb seeking a little enlightenment; apologies if this has been raised elsewhere, but I couldn't find it. I've noticed that the Desire doesn't sync all of my (1200+) calendar entries from Google Calendar, just the appointments a few weeks back to a few months into the future. This is a bit of a pain if I want to check events from last year, so is there any way of getting these older appointments synced onto the Desire? Many thanks for any help.
I've same problem.
I've actually since abandoned the Desire over this flaw, but one kludgy workaround is to sync all appointments via cable and HTC Sync. That unfortunately creates duplicates, but there doesn't seem to be a good way around this.

Have you tried Exchange ActiveSync with your GMail. This allows you to select all appointments in Calendar settings.
Anyone using Exchange on the native email client suddenly notice a huge battery drain/wakelock with Exchange server?
I haven't changed my email setup in weeks and I've never had this problem before. My phone is a little over 5 hours off charger and at 19%! Exchange services is at 19% with a 1h 13m wakelock on BBS.
I have Gmail and Hotmail (yeah, yeah) accounts both set up as push. Only the Gmail syncs contacts and calendar (I've double-checked everything). I probably get ~20 emails/day or so.
Until today, I would get >24 hours with light usage, and a full day with heavier usage. This literally started today out of the blue.
I searched all of XDA and the GN forums specifically and didn't see anything that addressed this particular issue. Any suggestions?
TIA
Anyone?
The actual service is com.android.exchange.Exchange Services
somehow the native email push keeps running and waking up the phone..
so i just sent to never notify me.
and i manually click the app to check every now and then to solve this problem and maintain my battery life

The weird thing is that it just started doing this, even though I haven't changed any settings in weeks. And not having push email would suck...
This has happened to me from time to time on CM and AOSP ROMs, but not on my GN yet. It's a Google problem IIRC and something that they "fixed" in the past, but they obviously haven't.
I'd observe this 1/10 nightly ROM flashes so I'd keep an eye on it for the first couple of hours afterwards and kill it if it was starting to go rogue.
It's a known, flagged, issue (on Google) but I don't have the link handy.
i noticed similar Exchange Mail behavior on my phone with any ROM that i flashed. i narrowed the constant-sync to my calendar. when i disabled calendar sync, the battery drain stopped. my research suggested the problem was related to a corrupt calendar or recurring calendar entries. so i archived all my Exchange calendar entries (which removed them from my calendar) removed then re-added the Exchange account to my phone and finally restored the calendar entries i needed. so far, no issues and i've flashed 3 ROMs and the problem has not returned. somewhat extreme, but it worked!
I have no issues with stock Exchange and Gmail apps on rooted 4.0.4.
You could try deleting and recreating the email accounts to see if that helps.
Also got the issue this night. 25% gone after 4 hours sleep, wakelock because of the Exchange service ... Disabled google sync, then reenabled it 2 hours later, and no problem ... It gets stuck somehow sometimes ...
I had the same problem on my SGS2 on ICS. I finally had no choice but to migrate my email to Google Apps. In the end it was the best decision since the Archive function on the GMail app is amazing and it simply works 10x better than any Exchange ActiveSync client.
The Google Apps connector for Outlook also works almost as well as Exchange Server.

Hi,
I'm experiencing the same issue, i.e., duplicate instances of a single appointment. My MS-Outlook account is through my work so the settings are pretty much fixed. I have the account setup to push updates to my device. Here's an example of what's going on. Today I created a single one time instance of an appointment on my MS-Outlook client from my Laptop. When it arrived on my phone is shows on my calendar as 15 instances of the same meeting. Then like 10 minutes later I deleted the one instance of the meeting from my Laptop MS-Outlook client and it won't delete or remove the 15 instances from my phone.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steven

For me the following finally helped..(after discussing with Samsung Developer Support)
backup all you calendar items in outlook using separate offline calendar.
once all items moved from this calendar do a sync.
then one after the other try to move the appointments back.
I tried with 3 appointments and since it worked with those 3 I moved all remaining at once (around 1000) and it worked
hope that helps

Correct. .no more issues. .
Update my HOX to 4.1.1 two weeks ago. Found out one strange issue related to Exchange Activesync Calendar
If setup an all day event of D day (one PC with Outlook or on HOX), Although the event will show up correctly in the stock Calendar App (at the top column of day view, as 1st attached picture), but if you tap it and enter the detail view, the event will show up as from D day 0:00 to D+1 day 0:00. <--as "Test Exchange in attached picture"
Setup a All day event in Google Calendar will have no this problem. When tap and enter the detail view of event, it will still show as "All Day" (as "Test Google" in attached picture", instead of "D day 0:00 to D+1 day 0:00"
This problem will make Calendar related APPs behave strangely. Like Smooth Calendar will show this "All Day" event whole day, even it was setup to hide the "All day" from SC's view.
Anyone has same issue or a solution?
It's confirmed that it's not happened before upgrade to 4.1.1, my other phone (Desire) with Gingerbread has no this problem when sync to same Exchange server, neither.
Thanks!
262 views and still no reply? Anyone confirmed this problem?
Probably just the way the two companies handle their calendars.
Outlook may be based on time.
Whereas Google may look at them as days, unless a time is stated.

Thanks for the reply. However, before update to 41.1, everything is okay... All day event is represented same for both Exchange and Google...
Since it's broken through the system (different calendar app shows same result), I suspect it's in the underlying Activesync code in 4.1.1, not just the problem of Calendar app.

Same problem here. All day events in Exchange calendar show up from 11:00 pm actual day til 11:00 pm next day. No solution found yet.
With Google calendar everything is okay.

Is there any update on this? I've got exactly the same problem with some all day entries (typically birthdays or anniversaries) appearing as starting at 23:00 on the correct day and running until 23:00 on the following day. Phone was updated to JB a few months ago and I only added the Active sync account on Monday. It is definitely an Android based problem as other devices (iPad, BlackBerry) work fine.
Waiting in antici.................................pation of an update.
I have the same issue with HTC One and Asus Infiniti tab The only thing that seems to help for now is to open every such recurring all-day event in Outlook, open the series properties, change the event hours from 00:00-00:00 to 00:00-23:59 (duration 2879 mins), save it. Wait for the phone to sync, open the event in Outlook once again and change the event hours back from 00:00-23:59 to 00:00-00:00 (duration 1 day). Wait for the phone to sync, everything is OK then. Little tiresome workaround, but at least it works. What is interesting it is definitely Android issue, because all my devices with Android 4.1+ have the same issue. I think it is somehow related to time zone issues. The other trick is to remove problematic event and create it directly from the phone's calendar app.
This is a really annoying issue and has lead to problems several times: I have a few meetings every week and I usually remember them. Obviously, they are set once for a longer period of time as recurring events. But sometimes they get moved because of holidays etc. and the date and/or time changes. While Outlook on my PC shows the correct times&date (Exchange Server 2003) I cannot make it appear in the calendar app. As a matter of fact, I tried Touchdown and several other apps but none shows the events.
Here's a list of what I already tried:
Google - Lots of people have similar issues but nobody seems to offer a solution.
Searched the Apps and Themes and the Q&A thread here.
Disable sync for Exchange items (calendar etc.), then sync, reenable, sync again.
Removing account and setting up new.
Save the recurring event with minimal changes (like reminder time).
Creating a new event on the phone syncs fine with Outlook, deleting the event there also deletes it from the phone (so sync is working).
Setting the calendar event to sync to "All".
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Many thanks!
EDIT: I'm running CleanROM 4.0.5 but I don't think that's causing the issues since my coworker is running stock JB on his SIII and is experiencing similar problems.
shameless bump
Does nobody here really care about these things or am I the only one with this issue? Strange...
I'm facing the same problem. Although I'm using a Nexus 4 with Android 4.3.
I can see that some of my recurring events get dropped when syncing. Adding/ deleting new events works though.
Did you find any solution for this?
