just to point this out and help a couple of people.
the current state of gaming on the Gnex is..rater terrible.
Allot of game's camp with the multitouch error/glitch/compatibility.
Yes multitouch doesnt work how it should work.
The cause of this might be the SB(software buttons)
and an API that needs to be implemented to the game to hide the SB.
And these are the apps i currently have tested and dont work with multitouch:
GTA 3-(update announced for gnex)[No market support yet]
Cartoon Wars
Modern combad 3[No market support]
GTA3 explenation:
When touching accelerate and making a right or left turn, your car slows down.
When touching right or left and accelerate.your car does not accelerate.
CM3 explenation:
Random Stoping occures.
Glitshing/shivering touch pads.
Not being able to aim and move around at the same time.

These all are randomly occurring and happen on most Gnex devices.
its the same thing when you put 2 touch pads next to each other in unity3D.

I've read and can't understand what is this "issue" with MC3. I have the Galaxy Nexus and I've been playing with MC3 for a couple of hours with no problems at all

As for shadow gun,than that might only be my Gnex with faulty Data files.

in the video itl show the conflict area thats causing the multitouch problem.
this problem would disappear if the conflict area is gone. and to make that disappear.you need to make the SB disappear.

Hes not blaming the games, hes just pointing out incompatibility issues. I have experienced this issue on and off with some games, GTA III in-particular.
The issue is the bug. Once incurred you can only get rid of it via toggling your screen off/on. Seems to be the trick.
I've experienced it in several other games also. Works fine then totally bugs out. Seemed to me it had something to do with the screen timer. I was playing a game and my gf grabbed my attention. When I returned to playing it was all bugged out. Toggle the screen and went back to business.
I don't think it has anything to do with the on screen soft keys, but rather a screwed up kernel driver.

just thought i would post this up in case anyone doesnt know....
Got my SGS2 this morning... and instead of connecting to the games hub and getting some games from there... i just opened my internet browser on the phone and put gameloft in the search box...
It took me to a gameloft wap site where it recognised my phone and offerd around 10 games for a quid each..
So far i grabbed Sparta , spiderman mayhem, dungeon hunter , modern combat 2 black pegasus,
Had to get lets golf 2 though through the game hub as that wasnt listed... paid £3 for that :0(

Ok well I just downloaded the game and it worked... I played a quick round... Then I closed it down...now when I go to restart the game I get the 'Force Close' error!

OK this is rather annoying!!!
For those who can't get Modern Combat 2 to work.. Try holding the Home button and selecting the game from the pop up window...
Its the only way the game seems to work for me..!! If I select it from anywhere else including home screen,, then I get 'force close'..

Yeah I only got the game because it was only £1...
but you should ask for a refund if the game does not work for you at all.. drop Gameloft an email.. they will get back to you.
hey don't say it's garbage, gameloft games are the best out there for android (in terms of graphics), so yes, they should work, I have 8 Gameloft Games on mine, all working. I don't know, reboot and try again. Or maybe reinstall, I don't know.
If still doesnt work, ask for a refund. Cheers

Uninstall and then reinstall the game. It will solve the issue.
It plays pretty well too - though I am still hooked on Order & Chaos.

Err... My phone is getting very hot at 41C for playing 15 minutes only. And battery dropped 15% too.

You don't need Chainfire with the latest version. Just download from the Marketplace and it should run without any issues.

How to produce less heat on SGS2...
Downclock your CPU to 800mhz (Runs smooth, maybe loading time is slower by 1-2seconds) aswell as undervolting it. This defiantly made my phone from hot to warm this is with 70/80% screen. Although I prefer 50% if im out travelling !
heat produce and battery drops is normal , so please do not be frightened!
will rise to about 50 degree celuis and drop battery like droping water.
A plugins is not required so do not do things too much.I am using 1Ghz to play and smooth enough.

I'm open to suggestions but i was thinking that we should list what games we enjoy playing (and by definition obviously work) and then maybe also list any you know are NOT working. It might also be helpful to include what rom you're on and any kernels or other tweaks you've installed since i know some games "break" on some custom kernels/tweaks (like final fantasy dimensions stops working when i install some xposed tweak--not sure which one tho) Ill start off:
I'm playing Dead Trigger 2, final fantasy dimensions, modern combat 4, fpse (PlayStation emulator), myboy (gba emulator), nostalgia.nes pro (NES emulator), temple run, fluid se, shadowrun, Dragon quest 8, lost toys, 9th dawn, symphony of the origin, and alphadia genesis.
Amazingly, i still have like 17bgbs of space--not to mention like 20 gbs on my external sd card.
I'm always on the lookout for new games, especially rpg's so if you have any good recommendations, let's hear them.
Almost forgot, deus ex is NOT working for me (major bummer) i already emailed the dev, but yeah, good luck with that...lol.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance still is one of my all time favorite games, and i never played this new one. Its pretty much all i need. Amazing story, great dialogue, interesting politics, engaging gameplay... but occasionally ill play something else =P
I have Wipeout Pure working too, but kind of slow..

U know, it's so weird. I've just never been able to get into strategy games. I must have some kind of block.
I play a few games and hack them as well. Dungeon defenders second wave. Is one of my all-time favorites and it plays well on g3 with amazing graphics.
I love playing real Racing 3 but its not compatible with the G3 yet...
To those who didnt know, but the G3 does support the PS3 Dual Shock controller also.
So if your into FPS like me and cant get use to the on screen controls, you can plug the PS3 controller to the G3 via micro usb and the controller is recognised right away.
I use this set up for all my FPS games and Sonic games and emulator games.

I'm wondering, has anyone here ran deus ex WITH xposed installed along with a couple of modules (app settings and tweakbox) i disabled hw overlays but still, it crashes when i click "play" or "options." it really sucks cuz i love that game but i also love my customizations. Guy on last page said he had it running but he's not using any xposed stuff.

Is anyone else having multitouch issues with FPS games. I have tested this on Guns of Boom and Dead trigger 2 the multitouch responses will randomly go crazy and I cannot control the aim especially in guns of boom, it's not as bad in Dead trigger 2 but still there. This was not present in 8.0.
Google is aware of the issue and there are also multiple reports with the latest 8.1 release.

Google appears to have drivers for 8.0 that should fix the issue but I am not sure how to install. https://developers.google.com/android/drivers
A custom 8.1 ROM may do the trick.
One reason I bought this phone was to not run a custom ROM, yet still get frequent updates. Google needs to fix this, quick!

i this solution addresses a different issue ..
anyway, the latest january patch still have this STUPID multitouch bug. Reverting back to 8.0...

I'm back on 8.0 as well. I wish they'd hurry up and fix this. Shouldn't have to run an older release on a brand new phone for it to function properly.
Issue touching other devices too... I'm on Android 8.1 custom ROM for OnePlus 3 and I have this problem too.

I just noticed the touchscreen bug this week. I'm on 8.1 with the Jan. update and I just started gaming on my p2 xl. Primarily angry birds 2 and online shooters. For AB2 it's flawless.
But for ALL of the shooters I play ( modern combat versus, unkilled, guns of boom, deadheads, and Bullet Force) the multi-gesturing (one thumb swiping left while the other simultaneously swipes right or up) can often cause disoriented /inaccurate movement registration.
It's my 1st major gripe with this phone. The p2 xl is fantastic otherwise. And............ on an unrelated note - if you want to play an impressive online shooter that can run 2k /60 frames a second AND do so with ALL the settings set to ULTRA.... try playing Bullet Force! The game runs like a dream on the pixel 2! Apart from the Oreo 8.1 multi-gesture anomalies.... but that's not the game's fault..... it's Google's

Meh...some say it does, others not. I'm not a gamer so I really can't say. I do think it helps with touch input with texting though. As with anything with android....YMMV ?
Has anyone experience any issues when swiping or scrolling in games ?

Swiping/scrolling fast in apps (non-games) works fine, also using a s-pen in games works fine -but when you use your finger then that when things go weird (swiping slowly works -but not when you do it fast).
(note: swiping and scrolling fast works fine on my other Samsung devices -but is very noticeable on the Fold 3 and does affect gameplay). This is my second device now as the first had these issues as well.
I have also contacted Samsung (but I am still waiting to hear from them).
Would anyone here be able to confirm they are experiencing these issues as well ?

I play Pokemon Go and that has some fsat swiping when in battle, and i have no issues

I tested fruit ninja 2 and seems every thing is fine.
I have some others touch problem, sometimes the screen touch freeze for milliseconds, for example when i am typing quickly some words ignored....
I think the lack of response here has convinced me to return this device.
I have had touch issues with games off and on and what solved 90% of the issues that I had was to go into the Labs and for each game with issues, turn the Aspect Ratio to App Default.
Every game (in particular PokemonGo) that I changes to App Default has, for the most part, resolved the issues with touch.

Ok, so I thought my next meeting was at the top of the hour, it is, just not this hour.
SO, I installed it and did some tests with playing. Fast and Slow swipes and did not have any issues with playing the game and even getting some really nice shots in!
The ball meter is at the center of the screen which I thought might cause some issues and it worked without any issues at all. Just make sure I got all the test points in, here is what I did:
1. Went through the tutorial to learn and make shots. Couple parts were a little confusing, but after getting the hang of it, not issues.
2. Played a few holes with others and won them without issue. I used power-ups and some shots without and still no touch issues presented themselved.
3. I played around and did normal swings and quick swings and still no issues.

In the video where I am scrolling through the Teams and Players, I am only swiping upwards (down the list). This happens whilst playing the game as well -but is more difficult to show.

Looks good for me. I am not having any issues at all with the scrolling.

I sometimes notice the slow scrolling in random apps in portrait. If I turn the phone to landscape then its quick. Go back to portrait and its quick again. Seems to be very random but usually fixes it for me.
