I'm considering getting this tablet for my wife. tabletrepublic.com/forum/teclast/teclast-p81hd-released-99.html (cant post full link until 8 posts, so u will have to copy paste it)
But before getting it I was curious if anyone has rooted it, and if not which direction should I look to get the device rooted. It runs Android 2.3 and uses a Rockchip RK2918 processor. There is also supposed to be an ICS update coming for tablets running this processor. If I get it rooted and ICS is released will this cause issues in rerooting the device? I'm not a pro but I've rooted several devices, so I can follow the sh*t out of directions. Thanks

Hi, I am not really new to rooting droid devices, but have run into quite a bit of trouble trying to do this with my Note 8. I am wanting to put CM on it like I have on my droid phones, but have had nothing but trouble trying to do it. I have seen several different articles here and there about it apparently not being possible to do anything with the AT&T version of the Note 8. Is this accurate, or is there someone who has successfully rooted and applied CM to their device? I can't stand the old 4.1.2 on here, and AT&T seems to be in no rush to update to 4.4. CM would be perfect for my needs, but I just can't seem to get it on there. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
What is CM?

Hey there! There are only a FEW ROMs for the I467 and CM as far as I know will not go onto it. There is a DeOdexed stock 4.1.2 rom though floating around and with root it has some potential. I hope this helps. :good:

Hey there! CM = CyanogenMod. it is a highly customizable port for Android which provides a ton of new improved features for your particular device. Google "CyanogenMod" and read up on it! It's a very decent ROM. Cheers! :good:

I am so glad I stuck with my Galaxy Note 8 for AT&T (model SGH-I467)
It was upgraded OTA to Android 4.4.2. Although it is now dead ended in terms of Android os updates, but it turned out to be a totally blessing. (AT&T no longer committed to any further updates for that device)
Android 4.4 and 5.0 are the only good OS for managing SD card for extended storage. I am having a great time achieving and saving excellent media clips onto the sd card without worrying about filling up the internal memory. Google has crippled Android 5.1 and even 6.0 SD memory management and direct read and write ability. I have a tablet that has 16GB internal memory and a SD card slot, but the Android OS is 5.1 and it rendered the SD card totally useless but for pictures and video generated from the native camera app. None of the other third party apps can access the external SD card !!!!
i want software for note 8.0 sgh-l467
Hi all,
Just rooted my device for the first time today using TWRP and flashing SuperSU. I was hoping it was going to give me the ability to upgrade my device to a stock android version of Lollipop. As I'm looking around it seems like that is not supported by the community. I have used the search bar and haven't come up with much, except a few old threads when Lollipop was just released.
I found this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755532 that suggests nobody has modded it past it's final android update 4.2.2. The only difference it seems is it gets rid of some of the uninstallable Samsung and Google apps.
I just wanted to confirm that there is no development going on past 4.2.2 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110) before I flash a new ROM from the list.
Thanks.
bump
I would also like to know, I bought the tablet today for my son, but never checked about the android version, and now i can't update the kids mode on it,so being to get it to update would be brilliant, if not i'll have to take it back and exchange it for one that has a newer version.
Maybe in the future:

My Samsung Galaxy Tab E Lite is currently on Kitkat 4.4.4 and I'd like to put Lollipop on it to be able to run Dronedeploy.
A couple of questions...
Can the tablet handle Lollipop ok, and what's the best procedure to use to get Lollipop on it?
Thanks for the help!

I have not found much on this tablet yet for some reason. I wish I know what Root was safe with this device.
The procedure generally works like this:
Research Roots
Find applicable Root.
Root device.
Install applicable ROM.
It's been a while since I've used an Android, but I forgot just how god awful they were before 5.0/6.0.
Anyone know if they have the ability to do this? I'd be willing to compensate monetarily if need be. Why isn't this tablet attractive enough for people to mess with?
I have this very tablet I've never found much on it myself as two routing or upgrading to 5.0 and I think that's only because it's a Wi-Fi only tablet. If this were standard tablet with Wi-Fi and Cellular connections you'd probably find stuff about it all over the place but it's not it's a Wi-Fi only tablet therefore there's not a lot of information out there on them. However if somebody were to Port Android 5.1 out there from the sm-t110 which is the closest model to this one it would probably work just fine
If somebody could look up the sm-t113 on Wikipedia and using files for the sm-t110 Port those to the sm-t113 I think it would work however I don't really porting to say for certain. And I do believe the only reason there is nothing on the sm-t113 and you can find all kinds of information on the 110 is because the sm-t113 is a Wi-Fi only sister version to the 110.

Me too. although I have actually found a root for this device https://iosddl.net/daffc40a72a3c980/Galaxy_Tab_3_Lite_7.0_Root_Files.zip (flash with Odin 3.07 (PDA))
Whats up Guys its been while since I last posted and used my Nexus.
I Iam now using it for Uber eats all day.
I have seen there is several roms running 8.1 Oreo. I wanted to know what would everyone say is the best one that would feel and perform as fast as my Galaxy 8 running 8.0 Oreo.
I am Currently not rooted yet on the Nexus 7 so I know you will tell me to get Team win recovery and root first.
Also its been years since I have rooted lol with team win.
I just want the Tablet to feel extremely fast and be able to customize it as much as the rom lets me. I wanted your opinon on how much faster and snapier it will be after 8.1 Oreo. I really could not tell how fast my S8 was running until I started using the Nexus 7 again for comparison lol.
One thing I want to add as well is there way to make a complete backup of my entire device before unlocking the bootloader as in this video I found he says you have copy all filed on your computer.
Is there not a way to backup or complete a Mirror back up before unlocking and installing the boot loader again sorry guys I have not done a root in years so forgot the entire process from what I remember there was always a way to create a entire mirror backup before rooting or installing the boot loader.
Is there any other way to do this is faster way or more efficient proof since this video was filmed in 2013. So any way to root without factory resetting?
Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6k4rCaMPSQ8
I did find this as well from wug fresh one click rooot with twrp but still how would I make mirror save of my entire device before I root and install the recovery?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9CPMG6yIA4
Thanks guys
Hello guys not one answer yet? Please anyone that help me with tjhis it would be apreciated.
https://lineageos.wickenberg.nu/builds/full/flo/
Can't guarantee best/fastest but I have been having good luck with the UNOFFICIAL lineage builds at that link. They aren't necessarily 100% bug free but work very well for my usage (mostly browser, a few apps).
I used wugs unlock way back when and assume it would still work. I don't believe he still keeps it up so you may want to verify or check with other options.
This thread has way more than you will want about the rom and related issues;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...ment/rom-lineageos-15-0-nexus-7-2013-t3673103
A few key things to pay attention to:
- Find the updated twrp(s)
- Read about repartitioning so that system is large enough for the ever-expanding gapps
- most use magisk for root now rather than su
All I can think of right now. I'm far from expert. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in
Thanks man I just read your message now. I do have a question what about the oreo version?
I also have my asus prime running kitkat and it is just slow laggy and buggy as hell it not running like a smooth tablet at all. On the prime I have it rooted with team win 3.0.0
I just want both to be running as fast as my galaxy S8 or as close to it as possible. It seems crazy that Prime feels so slow in comparison when it has quad core processor.
Link and thread I linked are both Oreo
This is an unofficial oreo rom
Hello,
It's been a few years since I used to root all my phones (Happy with my Pixels just the way they are) but I've got this HD10 7th Gen in the Kitchen and I need to run an app that now has these minimum Android OS requirements. I can follow the root instructions here (thanks!) but will I be able to flash the new FireOS or Android ROM?
Thanks!

You can always roll back to stock (with effort) but suggest shoving the thing in a drawer until FireOS gets an update to 6.x
Edit
I flashed lineage 14.1 on my fire 10 and it runs SLOW compared to stock. Tough to recommend!
