Funny how the WiFi radio can't even pull in that kind of data *no matter the connection)
My RAZR LTE never got over 24, so this is rather impressive. Although, my RAZR gets much better signal, which gives it a higher average performance over the Nexus.

My experience so far:
DFW (Arlington really) ...and it varies wildly from street to the next but this was
the best I could get in Arlington. Mostly it was 10-15 DL and 1 - 5 UL
Houston:
It's been great every where I go

wow...just WOW
Is anyone anywhere near you?
You'd have to literally be in an area alone to get that kind of speed!

The best so far in Houston was when I had the Rezound:
The GN only gets about 30-35 in the same location

WOW - 52 Meg on a phone... Remember 256k dial up. We have come along way

I miss T-Mobile so much....

Best for me
This is the best I've gotten so far. Also in Houston area.

Hm mines is only 9GB D/L here in New York.

Here's mines. Reporting live from Philly!! I love my Nexus. Been a fan since the G1 and made my first purchase with Google Wallet at Mickey D's and worked like a charm. Ohhs and Ahhs were in order too!! Yeah! Thanks Google for the free lunch.

Sorry, /offtopic.

NYC Rezound. Nexus arrives tomorrow, so I'll be testing and comparing.

I am at 30% after 12 hours with 1 hour screen on, 15 min talk and 1 hour of streaming xm on the stock battery. Lte was on all day. On my 3rd charge cycle. Still have the extended battery to run and see how it performs. And there is the option of a uv kernel, it can only get better!
Yes it eats more battery than the gsm, but I can make it all day and have signal in remote areas!

I'll give WiFi a go right now.

Well crap I guess I have to crawl up to Cago and hook an N router into my server. Though does the E4GT do 2x2 if not all you will get is 150 Mbps tops.
My web server when it was in NY:
Now in Chicago:
Dont ask about the distance... well ask internap lol it had some NY to DC tests ~50 miles well shorter than they really were.
If only I could get some 1 Gbps home fiber to a decent backbone, that would be sweet.
My Phone at home, work, or burger kings drive thru take your pick:
Old versus recent
So are we going to do anything with these or should I just give a universal "Cool story, bro."
help me out here
Pretty sure I win. And I'm in the city. Lol.

My new play Nexus running on Straight Talk

Man after being under Sprints thumb for 2 years I am free. I live in a rual area and had to have an airave just to get phone calls. I have full bars now and 5mb dl speed. I know thats slower than some are getting and I bet it's faster closer to town. All I can say is I love it. Anybody thinking about it should make the switch. Plus pure Google is pure awesome.
Good to hear. I am in the process of making the jump to T-mob Monthly 4G from Sprint. Their data service has become so slow (45 kb/s) in my area, that paying "Premium Data" charges is ridiculous. I really like the prepaid business model versus subsidizing the device.
Congrats! I left horrible Verizon for Straight Talk with GSM Nexus. I actually get better service on ST Att than I was getting with Verizon.
I also came from sprint which couldn't even steam pandora.

Best thing I have found with google now if you open it and say S*&T it takes you to the Sprint stocks page. Best laugh I have had in a long time.
Anyone interested in going to Prepaid should checkout the HUGE Prepaid thread here.
I did the same thing. I have had my Nexus for about 2 weeks now using it with Straight Talk sim and I love it. Came from the Rezound.
Called and complained to Verizon twice in 1st 6 months about my service and they let me out without ETF.
Had 3 lines ~$230.00 month for Rezound, iPhone and another dumb phone. Now paying $150.00 for 2 Smart Phones "Nexus and Galaxy Y for my son" and 1 dumb phone "iPhone" for my wife.

LTE in CINCINNATI!!!! (Kinda has a ring to it)

Never have had the opportunity to use LTE before. Its never been available in an area I've lived. Tonight I went out to my car on break at my job and I seen something I had never seen before in my status bar. Ran a speed test and got 30mb/s download!!!! Love it Wondering if anyone else in Cincinnati , Ohio or Northern Kentucky are seeing LTE for the first time?

Hey tiffany. I was going to post the same thing last night. #awesomesauce. I saw it waiting for the wife at her job in Fairfield yesterday and tested it on her phone too.

I got to use it in Cleveland about two months ago. I topped out at 43 down. I live in Columbus so I'm still waiting. I see that they've installed the LTE panels, I'm just waiting for it to be turned on. Any day now!
I'm hoping we get it soon too, I live in Newark just east of Columbus, HSPA+ is good enough for me right now I top out at 12mbs down

I am getting very good numbers on my speed test results. They are comparable to Verizon LTE.

Ya, its awesome. I came from Sprint so when I first switched to AT&T and had HSPA+ I did a speed test and got like 7mb/s when I was use to getting like 300kb/s. I started freaking out when I seen that. Now seeing 20-30mb/s is just insane to me. Glad I'm not the only one and I hope its not just some test where it gets switched back off.

Got it last night while leaving work in Milford and had it all the way home in Norwood and then back to work but it reverted back about 2 hours ago. (wait now that I'm typing this i notice its back up ) Couple of nerd friends in the area posted about it on FB too I can't tell the real speed cause the damn gallery downloaded 2 gb of data and ran me over my 5GB. Speaking of which does anyone have any idea how to get around that?
The signal is still going strong in Fields Ertel!
Its pretty nice, my phone has faster speeds then my home net lol 25mb/s vs 30-40mb/s on LTE
I'm in Clifton right now.

Hell, I'm lucky to get 2 hours in a charge
Yeah, the battery life for our phones is not the greatest, I've found a spare battery to be a must for longer days. I do get better battery life than what you're seeing though, an average of about 4 hours screen on per charge, with about 15-17 hours of standby using the standard 1750 mAh battery.

Yeah... it's crazy. It's the one hindrance of smartphones... 4G + 4hour + display time would be ideal. FCC should make a mandate about battery life... "Must exceed 5 hours with the display on full brightness with a low signal 4G"

I'm not sure you understand what the FCC does... Vote with your wallet if you want a change, go buy a phone like the RAZR Maxx with a huge battery, complaining here won't do anything.
op, your signal strenght is very low. switch to 3g. gsm radios will always consume less power. we on maguro can get over 3h display, easy!

Yup, the GSM guys get much better battery life.
My VZN Gnex has less than 2 hours screen time with mixed LTE and wifi on a good signal. That said, I'm still going to complain no matter how many people say to switch to 3G. I believe consumers buy products because they should be good, not so they can make sacrifices after purchasing a product. As of yet, the VZN crowd doesn't have much of a choice for Nexus devices, so Gnex it is.
Make do with what ya got and don't let some battery life stop you from enjoying your phone. Just charge your phone if you get the opportunity and don't let it bother you.
Other phones are worse, some r better. No one says u can switch to a phone with better stats. I'm not complaining cuz I come from a droid charge where ubhad to tweak the crap out of it to get 2hrs of screen on time.

it dosent sprint only rates it at 6 megs or something stupid. maybe at the end of the nv roll out it might improve
or not because you took thoes speed test with decent db and probally little to no tower load on the lte core
you do realize this should be part of the sticky on top

Sprint came out as fastest lte in recent tests. I would say partly due to low loads. It's 6-8 average and 25 peak. I'd say just fine enough speeds for a cell phone.

speed test made and skewed by sprint?
do you know what the others are rated at?... there a reason why sprint rates that low cuz their user load will be crazy and slow to a crawl like the last couple years.
also they have inferior spectrum holdings /backhaul ( there using microwave in some places) and from my personal experience they are rarely/ never pay to be at the top of a tower
atts hsdpa is capable of 6 megs not to mention their lte is faster + 800 coverage has been around for a while for them ill be lucky if i ever see 800 coverage in st pete.
... just simple facts not knocking ya or anything ( or sprint for that matter)
im happy with them finally after backhaul to my tower by my house got installed finally see over 1 meg some times on cdma altho nv/lte is not complete
Please discuss LTE in the sticky thread
Thanks
