Dhd sense 3 problem. Plz help - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got my sense 3 ota update finished downloading right now. When I pressed install now, my fone went into a reboot and tried to install the update but it failed. The screen showed an image with a robot and error sign.. My fone is rooted but I didn't downgraded it to root... I used another method found here on xda... Plzzz help what should I do to get the update installed.

You can't OTA with rooted phone. I tried as well What you can do now is either install rooted Sense 3 ROM or use RUU and go stock, but then you won't be able to root because AAHK doesn't work with new Sense 3 ROMs....

Thanx dalanik for the only reply...
I already did it the ruu way...
I knew it wasn't possible...

Just making sure, have you tried rebooting your phone? I've had gingerbreak get stuck a couple of times, a reboot of the phone and another run usually did the trick.

You need to downgrade first, then root and after that you can s off and flash roms.
Use the search function there are lots of guides.

wow this is so confusing, do i have to downgrade, then root, ....then what? all i want to do is put clockworkmod on it so i can intall miui :S but thanks
im as confused as u, ill just try the ultimate multi tools, but mine is android 2.2
Well im guessing your phone isnt rooted which is the first issue you need to solve. The next would be turning s-off to allow you to flash custom roms.
Everything you need to know is in the guides.

I used UMT for that, then i flashed the radio and irl (hope i did it right), then in clockworkmod i flashed the full wipe thingy and then the rom, hope everything goes ok with flashing the rom now...seems its stuck in the log up logo ...
Edit- WORKED!! So happy!! I dont understand s*** of what ive done but it went ok so im really happy . Now time for some downloads xD
On the Desire HD page via my sig there is an XDA Guides section. See the XDA downgrade tutorial link. Then for Android 2.2 or lower, there is a video 'How to root the Desire HD in 5 minutes'. (I already had 2.2 on my new DHD and following the video was very quick.)

Eng s-off tool used on 2.3.5 custom LeeDroid ROM DHD - hboot corrupt - please help

Oh what have I done...
Basically, after installing LeeDroid latest version 5.1.1 Gingerbread 2.3 (only have Radio s-off) a while ago, signal issues caused my to try and update the radio today to recommended version via GetRIL.
It wouldn't work correctly and I assumed that it was because I don't have Eng s-off for the radio install.
So, I tried to use the ENG s-off tool and got the message "HBOOT corrupt, do not reboot, go to XDA" and here I am...
I haven't tried to reboot the phone and it is still on as normal.
Have I buggered up the Hboot? what will happen if I try to reboot the phone and what should I do now? I'm worried.
Appreciate any help on this thanks.
(I have clockwordMod installed etc)
Anyone?
Please?

Was your phone shipped with gingerbread or froyo?

Im sure some were on the forum you will find the information to this and its about the fact that that is a normal message after using the tool and your Hboot is not corrupt.

Well, I'm not 100% but i think possibly froyo.
Why?

I have never used this tool but I know that if you flash a froyo bootloader on a gingerbread shipped device there will be problems.

Thanks for that. I'm pretty sure my first Gingerbread was when the GB LeeDroid came out.
I'm kinda in limbo at the moment. I don't normally reboot my phone for long periods of time unless it locks up or reboots itself. And I'm scared to reboot it now in case I have issues.
However, Is there something I should do to my device in preparation for the reboot? Or is there a way of checking to see if it was a froyo shipped device?
UPDATE:
If I open GetRIL now (after trying to flash the ENG s-off tool) it says "No permission, Features that requires a rooted device, Superuser and Busybox has been disabled"
Looks like something has happened
I still haven't rebooted. I just want to know:
If I reboot and I have a problem, should I do something before I reboot the phone? i.e.
Put a RUU on the SD card
OR a PD98IMG.zip stock ROM or something?
Is there no way I can check the condition of the Boot Loader without rebooting the phone or booting into recovery?

[Q] update error OTA for rooted

i have rooted ma htc one v , running on stock rom and flashed hellboy kernal but have got the update and downloaded but when installing the same getting error any help??
regards
dathe
You'll need to restore the stock recovery, stock kernel and relock your bootloader to get it work.
Have done everything but its just sticking at middle of the update
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
the update is crap anyway, i wouldnt even worry about taking it. afaik all it does is update the radio version, which didnt do anything for my signal when i was running stock and took the update.
