Mines pretty good on 4.0.1

I was 10 hours today and still 65% also... just some texts, email, facebook and one or two other apps. When I started playing games it went done QUICK.
noticed though slower burn on battery if games aren't played.
Normally 10 hours I'm below 40%
GSM Galaxy Nexus on TMO-US ; all places today full signal (so no low signal higher radio battery usage)

People need to post if they're on the GSM or CDMA/LTE variety.
I'm thinking of switching to the GSM version, as battery life seems to be a lot better, even with the "Android OS" bug...

I was getting 16 hours normal use gsm model til undervolted. Now I get 25 hours. 4.0.1

Completely disagree. I just took this screenshot 10 minutes ago on my LTE Nexus (haven't been on WiFi at all today).
I have LTE turned off most of the time unless I want to use it so it's not using it for mundane tasks or syncing, but I use it whenever I want to and it's fine. I used it fairly heavily today. Screen on-time is 1:40.

i am thoroughly satisfied with the battery life because I came from a launch samsung captivate which had horrid battery life that would barely last me the day.... i love my gnex
i cannot wait for even more improvements from custom roms... I will wait a little wile for CM to iron out majority of the bugs...

Stock battery is definitely underwhelming. Though saying that, this is the best phone I have ever used. The fluidity and smothness of Ice Cream Sandwich makes the phone not even feel like an Android almost.
I don't know if you're planning on rooting, but if you are, this is THE phone to get. Tons of different customizations which will make the battery life on the phone go from 6 hours to 19 hrs and higher depending on the amount of use. Hope this helped.
I've had it for about three weeks and had the 3d. The gnex to me has better everything by using both and feels better. I get 8-14 hours depending on my use this is with the GSM model.

I must be in a weird boat because I don't have any problems with battery life like other people. I charge for about 8 hours a night and when I go to plug it in at the end of the day after about 16 hours off the charger I usually have around 40-60% left.
That's "normal" use though. Some texts and emails, some browsing, 30-45 mins of "Words with Friends", maybe some YouTube videos, a couple 5-10 min calls. Even right now after 7 hours off charger I'm at 80% with 26 mins of screen on. And yes, that's stock everything with 4G on and connected (even in the office where it's always going between some and no signal) and Wi-Fi.
If you are the type to use your phone as a gaming/media device like many of the people who complain about battery life, yes, it probably does suck a bit getting 2-4 hours between charges. But that's a lot to ask of such a tiny battery when you are using it non-stop.

Battery is pretty awful compared to my last phone: iPhone 4.
But, the problem is solved if you purchase a couple of more batteries and an external battery charger. I just carry a battery with me and keep one in my backpack.
Only had the phone for a week. I find the battery much better than my previous captivate.
These were taken last night before plugging it in.
I'm very impressed. Not a lot of talk time on my phone during the work week though.

[Q][VZN]GN vs GS3 battery life

I've given my GN to my son so I could take the new GS3. I have to tell you that I'm pretty shocked that the GS3 routinely (stock or rooted and unlocked bootloader) gets about 24-30 hours of battery life with 4 hours of screen time.
having the same sie battery (2100), why the hell can't we get the same kind of battery life out of the GN? Aren't these 2 phones supposed to be close cousins if not siblings? Any ROM/kernel combo out there that can achieve this good of bettry life? currently on BAMF.
It's the Krait S4 chipset. Much smaller and therefore much more efficient.
Yeah, the Sammy improved on the weaknesses of the gnex w/ the s3, but the s3 has ics. Ics seemed to have better battery life. Jb seems to be more of a battery hog no matter which rom you have. Maybe when jb radios are released battery life might be a little better, but I just got 4 1/2 hrs screen time on codename's rom the other day. If I would have seen this post then, I would have posted a screenie...

NO NO NO, GSM Nexus you are talking about does not have any meaningful LTE technology. If I turn off 4G and go with 3G, I get the same battery life. Where it's at is the GS3 running Unlocked Bootloader and CM10

Try downloading a 200mb rom. Once you have LTE speed, you never go back. Don't knock it until you've had it for a few months. With LTE toggle I can get what you have, I just don't want to.

ICS still had terrible battery life on the GNEX. Not much difference between JB. On the 2100mAh battery I averaged 2 hours on screen time with LTE on using ICS and JB. Battery life is terrible on this thing.
Looking at the S3 battery life on LTE, basically we got screwed.

No one is arguing that the Big red is evil and is quite expensive. But they have the best signal, coverage, and speed. No one argues that. If you have a 4g LTE phone, why would you be running anything less? It's a silly argument.
I use google voice for texting, have 1400 min of anytime minutes for 3 phones with 10 friends and family numbers, and unlimited data for all three. My bill icluding taxes and fees is $212 a month. That's pretty reasonable compared to others. The problem, you can't get it as a new customer.

The GNex is notorious for how quickly the battery drains while the screen is on. There's nothing you can do, realistically, on stock, to fix this...custom ROM users usually have some tricks to increase battery life.

you have poor phone signal (3g/CDMA) and the phone is constantly looking for it.

For battery life you could even try a mild underclock. This is will may or not help, depending on what kind of apps (and processor usage) you run on the background.
It's definitely the signal because I experience it first hand when I go back and forth to visit my parent's house. They have atrocious signal reception (One bar for 3G) and battery drains around 3% a minute. It's a lot different when I'm at my place with full 4G signal because I can get 4+ hours on screen time.
It's unfortunate one of Google's flagship phones was designed poorly in signal/battery efficiency. Oh well, what can you do.
