And? How do I install a custom kernel? To flash the kernel i have to be in fastboot mode :S but my crappy w7 makes a sound like *du-du-du* and not *du-di!* like when you connect an usb cable

To flash a custom kernel, you use the android sdk. Copy the boot.img to the same folder as fastboot.exe fire up a command prompt. Hold back on device and connect usb cable, then type "fastboot flash boot boot.img into the prompt.

doesn't work, I hold back and plug in the phone, but it's flash mode; and when i type fastboot flash boot boot.img it just says < waiting for device > and after around 50 sec it exit from flash mode what am i doing wrong?

hold down the search button when turning on...

search button for fastboot mode and back button for flashmode. Use gordongate drivers if you intend to flash. They are supplied with the the flashtool package.

i've installed gordon's gate drivers and the pc recognize the phone in flash mode but fastboot mode still not working
here's the log, first i tried with flash mode and then with fastboot mode but it says error:

Are you running Windows 7, I had a nightmare with the usb drivers-even the Gordon gate one didn't work-I found the solution in the arc forum, sorry but I can't find the post I think users name was lollylops, check your device manager to see if you have s1boot driver problem if so then you need the different drivers

yes i'm running windows 7, and i've found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274199 and downloaded drivers for s1boot fastboot from that thread. Now, how do I install them? I've an x86 folder, ethernet, modem, usbwin, i386.... i've no idea, but i think we're close

Unfortunately I have the memory of a goldfish, I think that you have to put the phone into fastboot then goto device manager on the pc and update the drivers for s1boot by pointing to where you have put the drivers,

I had a nightmare with this, it seems some versions of Windows 7 are fussy with certain fastboot drivers, it sound like the op is struggling the same way I did, I was close to giving up until I came across drivers that worked

Ok i managed how to install them through device manager. I select the folder but it says (translated to english) : "Device's driver has been found, but an error occurred during the installation. Android ADB Interface - Impossible to find the specified file. WHAT!?
EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED here's how: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1299729 i dowloaded drivers from here and they worked but now i've some QUESTIONS:
1)With unlocked bootloader (i kept drm certificates) and root, can i update trough OTA?
2)Now i'm going to flash doomlord kernel: has it the recovery integrated?

[Q] Root LT15i - Android 4.0.4

Hey,
I was using DooMLoRD's script and explanation to root my arc s, but the script stops at "Waiting for device", before it had started the daemon, but then stopped.
I did all these steps:
(1) make sure u have installed adb drivers for ur device
(2) enable "USB DEBUGGING"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)
(3) enable "UNKNOWN SOURCES"
from (Menu\Settings\Applications)
(4) [OPTIONAL] increase screen timeout to 10 minutes
(5) connect USB cable to PHONE and then connect to PC
This doesn't show up: (6) skip "PC Companion Software" prompt on device
My build number is: 4.1.B.0.587
What might I be doing wrong?
E:
Update further down:
Now I am still stuck....
I have flashed to 4.1.B.0.431, unlocked my bootloader and installed ADB and Fastboot drivers.
USB-debugging and unknown sources is enabled.
if doonlords script starts then with error: device not found
also tried Bazoocaze script (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9#post31173269), but the light doesn't turn blue....
I tried googling and reading everything i could find, just don't know where i went wrong!
instead of doomlord, try this
That one didn't work either.
BUT if I start one of the scripts and then the other and keep both open then they work
Half way at least, after the "if it gets stuck here......" message it only shows errors: device not found
E: if i stop one of the scripts after i started them together I get stuck at the same message
Lt15 is soooo easy to root.
Get latest root.zip from superuser, put in sdcard
Get s1tools
Get fastboot
Get a kernel with cwm, puy it in fastboot folder
Testpoint phone.
Hotboot kernel
Go into cwm
Apply root.zip
Reboot and enjoy

After googling and reading a lot of pages I am still stuck.
I flashed my phone to LT18_4.1.A.0.562_NCB.ftf
When I start the doomlord's tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320350) it still gets stuck at * daemon started succesfully *
and if i start the other script same things happen as described before...
E: I am trying to do the whole story with locked bootloader btw.
unlocked my bootloader now...
trying to flash LT15i_4.1.B.0.587 -- error in flashtool, error preparing files....
flashed to .431 instead
Now I am still stuck....
I have flashed to 4.1.B.0.431, unlocked my bootloader and installed ADB and Fastboot drivers.

NOW I think the description from Bazoocaze had an error. - Run the file runme.bat - Connect your phone (powered on) <-- after i did the whole process with the phone off and then in fastboot mode it worked. root checker confirmed.
If you've unlocked your boot loader this should be easy. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18445331#post18445331
Flash THIS with the flashtool, reboot, download the kernel and wifi modules from HERE, flash the kernel with fastboot, reboot to home screen. Reboot into CWM and flash the modules, reboot to home screen. Finally, reboot back into CWM and flash this CWMRoot.zip, done.

There's nothing wrong with the description. It is right, it reboot ur Powered On phone into fastboot mode (phone off with led blue on). Then it flash the autoroot.img to ur phone. Just see in ur notepad, what is in runme.bat .

If u have already unlocked the bootloader then its better to flash any custom rom because even if u downgrade to .562 and root it,u wont be able to update to .431 over OTA.
Besides the whole point in unlocking the bootloader is to flash custom roms and kernels.
Unlocking the bootloader and still using stock roms is like you have a Ferrari in ur garage and u r driving Tata Nano

Help I cannot install CWM anymore

Hi there,
First I have installed CWM with the method I had to use the codes "adb reboot bootloader"... and so on and It worked perfectly.
I wanted to install the Envi ROM and on the tutorial there was said I first should install the Base ROM and then after restarting I should install the Envi ROM. After installing the Base ROM my CWM was gone. Now I can't install it anymore. I tried the following install methods:
-The one I've mentioned already <- Doesnt work because my PC says it does not know the command abd
-The install.bat method <- Does not work because my phone does not get recognized, despite I have all the drivers installed.
-The RecoverX method <- Does not work because my phone does not get recognized, despite I have all the drivers installed.
-The RecoverX app <- The says that installing CWM worked normally, but still I have no CWM
-The install.bat method directly on my phone <- SManager does not run the .bat even I ran it with the proper rights and adjustments

Did You try flashing a kernel with pre installed recovery? You can flash it using fastboot directly or flashtool.
Also, the command is adb, not "abd". Plus if windows doesn't recognize adb command, then the adb.exe is not in the folder from where You are running the command prompt from.

You can install the DoomKernel, it has pre installed recovery. You can flash it via flashtool fastboot. But do note, You have to be on stock ROM.
adb.exe is usually in the flashing files.

I started Ubuntu (Live CD) installed adb und fastboot and tried it there... same result?
Is something wrong is my phone?
I don't think the drivers have been installed properly. Install fastboot and flash mode drivers from flashtool, it has drivers in it's folder. Else if even that doesn't work, install "Sony Update Service", and it will install required drivers.
Edit: I'm giving You instructions for Windows, are You using Ubuntu or was that just a trial?

I tried Ubuntu because somebody said me that Ubuntu will detect all the drivers automaticly and there would be no detection problem...

Why did it not work on my phone with smanager?

I suppose your phone is Xperia S.
If you have unlocked the boot loader , then Sony Official Softwares wont work. If your boot loader is still locked and this error is occurring then its mistake from your side.
I guess by Base ROM you meant official ROM. So if you were on official ROM, did you check for Root Privileges, Busy Box is installed etc ??
Im using Xperia Ion so the steps might be different but results all are same.
Try different methods, it will work.

By Base Rom I mean the following; I wanted to use the Envi Rom and for this Rom a Base Rom should be installed first.
I have unlocked Bootloader. Busybox is installed and Root Priviliges are given. Before installing the Base ROM I used the APP "Smanager" and I ran the install.sh with the app and then the CWM was there. But now that doesnt work anymore and DeliverX does also not work.
And all methods which require connection to PC won't work because those methods say my device is not detected or connected. I installed CWM on my phone and on other phones several times and never I had thode problems...

Do one thing, check Your Device Manager. Disconnect Your phone, Open Device Manager, then connect Your phone again. See if the Device Manager gets refreshed. If it does, Your device is being connected to the PC. Then check for Xperia S or anything related to Sony under "Other Devices" or other similar areas. Then right click on it to install drivers.

My phone is getting showed under "Tragbare Geräte" which means portable devices. When I right click on it says:

If I click on Update drivers the message shows, that the best driver is already installed.

I will Try Goo and TWRPG Manager. Rom Manager does not work with Xperia S I already tried it.
EDIT:
1. Goo Manager does not work. I installed the Open Recovery.img and then I tried to install the ROM (eXistenZ V2 Black) but it only restarts my phone <- Does not work
2. TWRPG Manager does not even the TWRPG Recovery.
3. Previously I used this App to install CWM and it worked. Now I used the App and the App said installed CWM worked but There is no CWM on my phone (or it can't get started neither manually by pressing up nor automatically with an App which reboots me into CWM). <-Does no work.
4. On other time I used this App to run the cwm-install.ch on my phone. It worked and CWM was on my phone. Now the script does not run and therefore CWM also cannot be installed with this method. <- Does not work.
5. After all that, today I tried to install an official Rom with Sony PC Companion (and then starting from 0 with an other ROM, to try all the other stuff again) but It says I cannot install the official ROM Update. because, I do not have the official ROM installed, <- Does not work
I dont know what to do anymore.

Did You install flashmode drivers from drivers pack of Flashtool? Not the USB drivers from sdk as You say. If not, or if You don't have Flashtool, download it and install Flashtool and then the fastboot drivers via it. Because if You are able to access fastboot, You should be able to access flashmode too, but if You have flashmode drivers.

Help - unable to flash custom recovery

Guys, thought I understood this as I've successfuly used SP Flash tool with previous devices but I'm going round in circles.
I've installed the Mediatek driver package so the preloader is installed.
When I try and flash Philz recovery via SP Flashtool I hit download, connect the P8000 then get an error "Brom error: s_com_port_open_fail (1013)
What am I doing wrong.
On the phone I have gone through the following :
SuperSU is installed
I've enabled developer options
I've then gone to OEM unlocking and at the prompt have clicked enable to the "Allow OEM unlocking"
I then switched off the phone and tried using flashtool as above.
I don;t know what to do next?
Sorry to be a pain.
Mike
What package for flashing have you downloaded and have you made sure to chose the correct .scatter file? How does it look in Device manager when you connect the phone via USB when it's turned off?
I would GUESS it's incorrect flash file or incorrectly installed drivers...
Thanks, I've done some more digging.
I've installed the mediatek driver package. I switch off the phone (power off).
When I connect the phone with device manager open the preloader driver appears under com ports (no yellow exclamation mark) for about 2 seconds. At that point the phone enters charging mode (large battery comes up on screen) and at the same time the preloader entry vanished from device manager.
Solved my own problem in the end - it would seem I was using an old version of the flash tool.
New version installed the recovery instantly.

Install this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
Install this - http://www.flashtool.net
After Flashtool installs, go to drivers folder, (in flashtool folder), and run drivers.exe. check boxes for 'fastboot' 'flash mode' and 'Rhine' drivers. When done installing drivers, connect phone in fastboot mode, and you'll get a 'installing device software' popup. Click on 'skip Windows update search', and drivers will install.
Then run fastboot commands.
Click to collapse
