Hi folks,
Sorry is this was asked already but I know how to disable it in my Asus Transfomer but can't find the damn switch in GN.
Is there a switch like that in ICS at all?
I hate dragging icons of the screen all the time I installed something.

Go to market then hit menu and then settings. Then unclick auto add shortcuts or auto add widgets. They both do the same

Widgetlocker in the market will do it.
Has anyone experienced the phenomenon shown in the two images below?
- My phone is unlocked and rooted.
- I am running LiquidSmooth v1.35
- I am also running Franco Milestone 3 kernel
It seems wallpapers will not behave correctly when my phone is in landscape mode. Anybody have some ideas?
I have tried "Wallpaper Wizardrii" which hasn't worked. This happens with both the stock launcher and the Apex launcher.
what is the resolution of the wallpaper?
That particular one is 1280x800. I set the wallpaper, just now, using the gallery "set as" function but while in landscape mode and it has eliminated the black bands on either side. However the transition from portrait to landscape is ugly (the wallpaper jumps around a bit before settling).
I don't remember it being like this in the past. If anyone has any fixes, they would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
I thought the last thing I did fixed it... but a few rotations later it was back to misaligned.
Same thing happens here on stock rom rooted using apex.

Try using Quick Pic to set the wallpaper.

Unfortunately wizard or quickpic didn't work for me either.
Edit;
I was going to suggest maybe its some kind of resolution issue but this happens even using the stock provided wall papers and built in wall paper wall paper picker app.

I hate the new ICS wallpaper implementation. Especially, because I always turn off the "Scrolling Wallpaper" option. And I always have to crop my wallpapers to make them fit my screen :X
So this is ICS bug not launcher?

I'm pretty certain that landscape mode isn't supported by the stock ICS launcher, is it?

I dont think it does.
OP, i do not have this issue.
at the time of reading this, i had a wallpaper set to not scroll, and i enabled horizontal lock screen. i had the issue you were talking about.
once i enabled scrolling wallpaper, and reset the wallpaper (same one) i had full screen wallpaper on the hoizontal lock screen.
seems to be an issue with scrolling wallpapers, which also isn't an option to disable on the stock launcher.

Yeah your right forgot about that. Still though, I'm sure older versions of apex displayed the wall paper right in landscape, only since the recent betas it started playing up.

I'm pretty sure the stock launcher supports landscape mode. It happens when you choose Settings > Display > Auto-rotate screen.
Update: I just switched back the the stock launcher and it does auto-rotate AND has the glitch.

Stock rom stock launcher won't auto rotate for me. I'm sure the stock launcher actually supports it but stock rom doesn't and requires tablet mode or something for it to be landscape. I'm sure this is why people started switching to 3rd party launchers to use landscape mode.
Are you on stock rom?

Iv just decided to suck it up for now and use scrolling wall paper even though I don't really want to but better than looking broken.
Do share if you find anything more out.

For anyone missing the ability to adjust brightness by sliding across the notification bar - check out invisibright.

I've tested it on my SGS3. It's working well and allows much better control than auto brightness.

Was the notification bar brightness feature removed from the new Touch Wiz?

Yes, it was indeed

And added to that autobrightness is pretty poorly implemented so your app has been a godsend.

Lux free version works really well also. After taking the time to lock screen brightness to ambient brightness, auto brightness scales exactly the way I want now.

For anyone using the paid version of invisibright (which gives homescreen shortcuts) and Go Launcher, the latest update of GL allows for a double tap on screen (in the gestures settings). So if you're like me and already have the other gestures allocated to other stuff, you can now set up the double tap to shortcut and pick invisibright touch mode (or tilt mode) . Works like a charm

Jut tried it. Even better than status bar control.

Hello and thanks in advance so ive been looking all over and cant seem to find an answer i just updated to 4.3 on my galaxy noite 2 ATT and after going through all the options it seems like i can no longer Have the Weather displayed on my lock screen has this been removed ? if not any helpo in guiding me to set it up will be appreciated
Go into your lock screen settings. Then check the box to allow for multiple widgets. Then down load 1weather app. It has a few choices of clock/weather widgets the works nicely. Add one of the to a new lock screen. Then delete the lock screen that has the normal clock.

Where exactly is the box to check for multiple widgets? I don't see 1.
