Hey Guys !
Here's my problem that Im trying to solve for the last 3 days ...
So Im trying to flash the InsertCoin Rom ( The last and the A2SD+ One not the CM7 )
So I did Everything that was needed :
I Rooted the Desire With Unrevoked 3
S-off the desire
Changed the Hboot ( I used the downgrader and the Stock Hboot From Alpharev )
Update the Radio to the last One
I wiped everything
I made a SD-EXT with G parted ( Its a 4 go SD CARD so 1gb ext 3 and 3 gb FAT32)
I installed the rom with Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7
Reboot .. Then it works and after like 5,10 mins I have a big bootloop and it keeps rebooting right after the Splashcreen .. And the phone is really hot ( The sd card seems to burn in the phone ) So maybe its that ...
So what can I do ? =P
Thanks !

small hunch,
did you create the partitions in the correct order using Gparted?
FAT32 should be first and ext3 second, both primary
I don't really know .. Does that make a huge difference if I do not create the FAT32 first ? But I think I did it like you said !

i believe it does make a difference.
best to check with gparted again. if they're the wrong way around, backup the sd card to your computer if you haven't already, then format and recreate the partitions from scratch. FAT32 should be first first and ext3 second, both primary.
put the rom back on sd card, then try installing...
i'm only going on your original description, may not be the problem at all, but i'm sure you can get a rom to boot as all other steps look about right
I checked and I did it right .. Fat 32 is first and ext 3 is second ..
Maybe I have to do it again just in case ?
Need some help !

you could try again, check both partitions are 'primary' and not 'logical' as well, though i'm guessing this is already the case.
if that still doesnt work try bortak's toubleshooting guide, may involve formatting everything manually.
should be able to get something to boot...
Well I tried everything it still keeps rebooting .. I will try to flash a RUU and retry to flash !
I flashed a RUU ( A froyo one ) And it keeps rebooting from itself ... I dont know what to do I really need help ..

only thing i know is bortak's troubleshooting guide again.
you may have to try official 2.3.3 RUU, but read through the guide.
if there are errors, post here what the output is if any, i'm sure bortak or someone would know how to interpret it.
if it works, use revolutionary to S-OFF and try custom rom again.

if it doesn't, flash the 2.3.3 RUU (make sure it's S-ON 1.2 Hboot) and make up a story to HTC about how their android upgrade broke your phone.
I just tried the Official 2.3.3 RUU ( From HTC Dev) It reboots 3 times when android was booting and the phone was kind of hot I let it cool down for 5 min , then reboot and it works at the moment .. But it rebooted 3 times by itself .. Its the same when I flash the 2.2 RUU .
Should I try a custom again ?

you could, but if it's rebooting by itself on official 2.3.3 RUU without installing anything then sounds like hardware issue to me.
probably no harm in trying S-OFF and trying custom ROM again, knowing that you can get back using RUU, but i think it'll fail again
i agree with this, send to HTC...

I tried to update it OTA and now my phone is hanging on HTC logo .
When I enter boot I get :
HBOOT-0.93.0001
RADIO-5.11.05.27
How can I revive it ?
Thanks !
Thanks to the great description i would say boot in to bootloader to see if you can do a factory reset, if you can't or it doesn't change anything run a RUU. You will lose all the data on the phone when doing so, sd is not affected as is all the stuff that is synced with google.
I tried factory reset . It doesn't change anything .
How can I run a RUU ? How to put it in RUU ?
PS : I don't care about tha data .
Ok i searched for 13 hours straight and finally found the solution...
You will have to make a gold card for it. Search on internet and you will get the procedure.
Then download the same RUU that you had in your mobile... like i had 2.29.405.5 and i could only restore on the same version.
Thats the only way in the world to solve it...
But it will happen again, because its basically edge that causes the problem. So you will either have to sale it or stop using 3G or edge :s

You dont need a gold card when you flash the original ruu, i.e. the Rom, that was installed out of the box. (branded/unbranded).
Try to boot your phone without sd-card. Did you flash a new rom? A A2SD rom without creating an ext-partition beforehand?
I don't know what version was before ...
Thank you for your patience !
Before you did the ota, did you flash a custom rom?
If yes, did you need a goldcard for that? If no, your phone is unbranded and you need to flash a wwe-ruu.
No , I didn't .
Can you link me , please , to that flash ?
Thanks !

Hi
I´m in trouble with my Desire and need professional help.
It´s a (was a?) 093.0001 with root and s-off
I´ve installed Leedroid V3.07 (Gingerbread) incl. Custom HBoot for data++ and the Radio 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08
I´ve tried to flash it back to original by using the orig. 2.2 Stock Rom from HTC. As far as I know should this be enough to bring it back to original.
Now there is the following problem:
The update breaks with the message, I´ve got to use an other RUU. The phone hangs with a black screen and triangles in it.
I can not start it in BL mode. It hangs with a partition failure.
Is this a fullbrick or is there a way to fix it? Does the radio make this problems? How can i create a higher radio number to overflash it?
What woulda real specialist do now?
Thanks for help...

Hi Patrick,
This happens usually with branded phones. In this thread you'll have to find the appropriate RUU, the RUU designed for your phone's original carrier. Did you make a goldcard ?
No, I did not make a goldcard.
I thought, Goldcard is not longer needed, so I dind´t make one...
But I´m a step closer (or did I make a sep back?)
I had acces via fastboot and tried to flash an other stock ROM via fastbootcommander...
Now I have the old HBOOT 0.93.0001 and my old radio. I´n not root anymore, and s-on is now printed in the display - but the flash stops with an partition failure again...
Is the partition failure the point to search for branded roms?

Do you have any idea if your phone is branded ?
No, I have no idea... bevore I start rooting i did not have seen any signs for a branding.
Mostly the desire shows an own startlogo from the carrier, isn´t it?
My problem is, the update is starting, but it aborts at ~50% with this failure...
All other updates won´t start, just this one RUU goes up to 50 percent...

You need HTC Sync. Start your phone in fastboot (back button + power), connect you phone and run RUU.
I´ve tried it a serval times, as admin, without admin rights, various combinations of rights and versions and have everytime the same problem...
I cann not see the phone starting in fastboot, even if I try to boot, the phone hangs with this black pic...
If I disconnect the cable from the phone I see the white page, but the last Entry is ruu, nothing more... there is nothing I can navigate to.

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921398&highlight=create+goldcard
Hey [email protected] . . 1st check if your pc is recognising your phone.
Connect to pc and check in device manager what is it showing.. should be adb or bootloader interface.. if not try to install adb driver...
than once its done.
try to run this RUU
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
basically error 131 is for CID.. so you will require a goldcard for that.. just try your luck .. remove both memory card and simcard.. and run the RUU..
Let us know the results
Allright everybody - It works! Feels like birthday @ christmas together, including a final blowjob and a cold beer togeter
What did I do? I´ve created a new goldcard on a second desire, used this card and started the final RUU again - That was all... Little think, big Impression
I thought all the time, the goldcard was specific for the telephone, but it was specially for the memory card.
Thanks a lot for all of your help! I know, there were many help for this stupid guy

Hey!
My Phone: Desire GSM with up to date Aurora Rom and 0.75 Bootloader.
2.5.0.7 ClockworkMod Recovery. S-ON!
Newest Radio.
I got some memory issues and want to flash the HBoot with AlphaRev.
So first i need to "update" my bootloader to 0.93. I couldnt find a way to do so!
I tried to install the latest WWE and the latest HTC_European RUU once normal and via fastboot... both fail with Error 131.
I dont know how to get away from the old bootloader... i'm frustrated #
The RUU always says i'm on 1.15.x. I dont know what this means...
Another question: a the moment i'm also not able to update the ClockworkMod via RomManager or Droid Explorer. Is this because my security is still ON?
Thanks!
go to my guide, create a goldcard first (link to tutorial there too) and then flash the latest WWE RUU from the link on my guide
Also it's best to change recovery via fastboot, and to completely cut out 3rd party apps like rom manager because they just cause issues. Flash roms and backup through recovery manually and everything else from fastboot
It's a Goldcard and already tried the RUU from your guide...
Maybe my SD Card isnt able to act as goldcard... going to try another one
report in a few minutes
Didn't someone say alpharev works on .75? No need to change bootloader? Try that instead of revolutionary
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
tried alpharev...
booted from CD. Everything fine... on step 3 of 3, 5 errors or something like appeared and a command line with somethink like "te:box$" appeared and nothing more happend. After ten minutes i just restartet my phone (very risky i know ) and it was still S-ON.
i thought i have to update my bootloader... but if anyone knows this failure pls tell me a solution! because creating a new goldcard with one android phone isnt that easy if you cant restore with an unrooted RUU
*edit*
seems also to be a goldcard failure :/
none of my sd cards is able to be a goldcard... sucks!

Hi Guys,
Got a real strange one, have been searching around and cannot find any threads with exactly the same problem as me...so thought I would post...
There is a bit of a back story, so here goes...
A friend of mine wanted to change her ROM on her Desire, it was purchased new in Hong Kong, unbranded. She had had a problem when out of the country (in Taiwan) and had taken it into an electronics store. A lady there "fixed" it up for her. After a few days of use she didn't like the ROM the lady flashed so I said I would flash something else onto it...
Searched around, choose the Runnymead 6.0.7 SE (current at the time) and flashed it. I needed to use unrevoked, which put on ClockWorkMod Recovery too. Great I thought!
So after a bit of use, she didn't like that either (women huh!) so I told her that I could simply put the stock HTC ROM that came with it in the first place. She said great, and here's where it got interesting...
My thought process was that I could just download the stock HTC WWE ROM from shipped-roms.com. Boot into fastboot and run the RUU, but no, I got an ERROR 131 - CID blah blah...funny I thought, cos it was bought unbranded. My assumption is that the lady in the store in Taiwan must have gold carded and flashed a branded ROM.
Anyway, cutting to the chase. I am a little stuck, here, why? The Desire wont boot without the "original" SD Card in it. When I say original, the girl also asked me to change the SD card (she had a 2Gb and gave me a 8Gb). But when I changed the card over the phone wont boot, even after a full wipe via ClockWork. It boot loops at the "android" boot screen (from the runnymead ROM) with the new 8Gb card in it.
To change the CID so I can flash the stock HTC ROM I need to create a gold card, and to do that I need the phone to boot (with a card in it I can wipe).
Kinda stuck in a vicious circle. Right now I am trying to find another custom ROM to flash to see if it has the same "issue" as the runnymead ROM does (i.e. wont boot without that "original" 2Gb SD card in it).
But let me know if anyone has ever seen this, seems weird that the phone wont boot without that 2Gb card in it...I have the card and a spare, but as I understand the gold card process I need to put another card in the (or at least the same one wiped) which means the phone wont boot!
My head is spinning...
Any input is welcome as I am just about stuck!
Cheers!

If you ever get it working I suggest you check Supernova rom.
To get it working, check bortak's troubleshooting guide stickied on the q&a section. Its got all the stuff you need to get you started.

Thanks stankyou!
I have reflashed the runnymead ROM and its booting up now, so will report back.
I do have a general question tho. If some ROM's require the "original" SD card to be in the device to boot, (I am guessing this is due to data required to boot the device being on the sd card, in the ext partition) how can I wipe another card (for gold card use) and swap it out and boot the ROM to change the CID? Bit confused...
Going to check out the supernova ROM now...
Cheers for the reply!
Whatev's
You really need not to worry about CID when flashing roms. You just make sure you make a full wipe via recovery, set the new sd card with ext pertition and flash your rom of choice and follow whatever instruction the rom requires you to do.

Hi stankyou,
I understand, but my goal is actually to get back to a stock ROM.
I keep getting the Error 131 (this was actually an unbranded phone, but somewhere along the line its gotten "branded").
I flashed the ROM you recommended...checking it out now...will it work if I take the SD Card out and replace it with another one?
Thanks!

All fixed up!
For those interested...
Flashed the Supernova ROM. This allowed me to change SD Cards...
Made a gold card and then ran the stock RUU from HTC.
All back to stock now.
Thanks for all the help!

You'll probably go back to Supernova once she complains about the lack of space for apps. Glad you sorted it out.
Hi, thanks a lot for all things you could do..
My phone is rooted, the o.s. was LL.. and worked well. I've "simply" missed to backup it before going to MM.
On MM, the installation was ok.. till it freeze 5 mn later.
I tried to put in my SD card different rom .. it didnt work
As my bootloader was unlocked, i've locked it via fastboot and followed the process but my phone is s-on.
So i've unlock it another time, put a rom on my sd card, renamed it as 0PMJIMG.zip.. HBOOT it.. It accepted then now i'm stuck.. my screen is freeze with green HTC
Can you "just" trying to help me ? i think i'm just a newbies..
Also ... i'm french.. sometimes it's not easy to understand.. so is it possible to detail it ?
Thanks a lot
