On the Gnex, there is the back button, home button, and open apps preview button. On the open apps preview button if you swipe over the preview it is taken off the list. Is this also an easy way to close an app or does the app still run in the background and just not show on the list?
From my testing, swiping an app in the listing closes it. It's not running in the background.

I'm on CM7 nightly 256. I would love for a single tap on my home button launch the recent apps, then a second tap bring up the home screen. Is this possible? instead of a long press to open the recent app screen. I recently installed Perfect Task Switcher to fill the void left from the ics switcher and it leaves quite a bit to be desired.
If I were to self into writing an app for this, what function is called to bring up recent apps?
Hello everyone,
I feel incredibly stupid for having to ask this and take up a whole thread, but I have searched to no avail, and this seemed the most appropriate place to ask.
I am simply wanting to access "my apps" in the Amazon App Store, but can't get there since Amazon hasn't worked in a on-screen menu button.
I am running ParanoidAndroid.
Thanks in advanced,
Zizzerboy
Re-enable the nav-bar.
Or re-enable the nav-bar options button if you disabled it.
It'll show the usual three vertical dots when an app doesn't have native ICS menu buttons.
If I remember correctly, Paranoid Android's menu button is inside of the Recents button. Pretty unconventional but saves nav bar space.
Whenever you see the 3 horizontal dots inside of the recent apps button, long-press until the menu pops up.
Sent from the future.
That did the trick! I'm glad I'm not going crazy!
Hey I'm on ADRHD M8 4.4.4 firmware.
I noticed that whenever I fire up my camera app, I cannot use my nav bar. for example, I can't hit back, can't hit home, can't hit recent apps.. which means I can never move away from camera app when I launch it.
what I do now is to tap the gallery shortcut on the viewfinder, and then hit home from there. which i think is very stupid. is there a fix? i don't wanna download google camera to use instead.
can anyone help?

Just tap or slide up from the bottom of the screen and the navigation bar will appear The camera app uses immersive mode

Hi. Yes I do that.. and the nav bar shows up but I can't hit the Back, Home, or Recent keys at all. they just kinda freeze there, and I have to tap the most recent photo taken to get into the gallery, and then hit Home.
Heloo!
There is this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crazyricky.advhomebutton
you can set double tap on home button for opening a camera like on s6

this is not work for me /N915F Lollipop
Not working for me either
for me it is working, but:
1. when I am in app drawer home button is not getting me back to home screen.
2. on the edge panel tapping folder to expand it force closes cocktailbar service instead of opening folder.
Do Not use advhomebutton its not good, instead download and install home2shortcut from play store. I've been using this app for months without any problems.
Even when apps are already pinned to the start screen because I already know that if you unpin all your tiles, the start button will take you to the app list instead.
