How to install clockworkmod recovery:
Edit: Fixed install zip from sdcard bug
Method 1: Needs root
The first method is preferable for those who have root access on their Micromax A90. Those who do not have a rooted device should follow Method 2 instead.
1. Download cwmr_v5.5.0.4 (fixed).zip and unzip/extract it. After extracting move both the files to the root directory of your SD card.
2. Install mu7577.apk and run it. After that give the program root permissions if asked and tap Recovery Update.
3. Select recovery.img from SD card then tap the ok button.
4. Now you can reboot to recovery.
Congrats!
Method 2: SP Flash Tool method, root not required
1. Download MTK6575 Drivers.zip and unzip/extract on your Windows PC, just run InstallDriver.exe to install drivers.
2. Download cwmr_v5.5.0.4 (fixed) + scatter.zip and SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1220.02_FOR_S101A.zip , unzip/extract them.
3. Now open extracted SP Flash Tool folder and run Flash_tool.exe
4. Click on "Scatter-loading" button which is on the right side below Downloading Agent. A new window will open. Browse to the extracted cwmr_v5.5.0.4 (fixed) + scatter folder and select MT6575_Android_scatter_emmc.txt file.
5. Flash tool will populate the Map file on the application window. You will see multiple entries. Uncheck all entries except for RECOVERY.
6. Now click on "Download". Warning message will occur, but ignore that and click Yes.
7. You will see in the status bar below "Searching", now connect your phone (without battery inserted) via the USB cable.
8. Wait for the process to finish and then you will get a window showing green circle.
Congrats You have flashed CWMR!
Note: If you get any error in SP Flash Tool, then recheck your MTK drivers installation or manually install them through device manager.
Booting into CWM recovery is the same as in the stock recovery. Switch on the phone with "Volume Up" and "Power" button Pressed. The Phone will boot into CWM!
I have also attached the the Stock Recovery.zip.

please also post here STOCK ROM full firmware , because if we failed then we need to restore i try custom recovery maybe 10 times always failed then need to go service center for restore. if you add stock firmware then we no need to worry about any experiment.
Presently I also don't have the stock rom or stock dump of micromax a90, I am currently running a self modded rom.

i have ROMDUMP back up , take backup using terminal emulator type onandroid and he done , but no boot and recovery image on this back up.

bro follow my guide to dump the rom, by that guide you will get the complete dump i.e all flash files such as boot.img, recovery.img, system.img, mbr.img, logo.img, etc and there i have also written the complete procedure to restore the dump using sp flash tool

in your method when i try to add script in GS_Script.apk select file but no any file saw there

extract BackupTool_*.zip to the root of your sd card after that only you will be able to see the script in load script option.
and i have not tested this script on mtk6577 but it should work for it.

Its specifications match to A90.
Check - ics 4.0.6 custom rom in my thread and download.
but use your A90 ics 'boot.img'.. means, replace your 'boot.img' in the downloaded file and rezip and flash through CWM recovery.
after boot it will come in Russian language. (because it is for Star N8000 - russian forum). so change language to english in settings. also , default launcher is SPB shell - Russian version. so install another launcher and use.
Rom is very good.

2nd ,this is not my work.I had collected from a Vietnamese site.i am just posting to help others if they are facing the problem (like me) in rooting and recovery of latest jelly bean update v30c for lg su640.
THIS IS INTENDED FOR LG OPTIMUS LTE (SU640) ONLY. PLEASE DON'T TRY ON OTHER LG OPTIMUS LTE VARIANTS
PROCEDURE:
1. make sure you have installed latest lg drivers
2. turn on the debugging option in settings/developers options
3.now connect the phone with computer, a pop up window appears on phone, select lg software there.
4.now go to the root v30c folder and run the bat file.and press any key to continue
5.message will appear on running window, now disconnect mobile from computer and turn of debugging mode for 5 seconds.
6.now turn on debugging mode again and connect the phone with computer and press any key to continue.
7.if all goes well, you will see a message that mobile is rooted, enjoy.
if it is rooted than go for cwm recovery installation.
1.run the ''run me.bat'' file placed in folder downloaded.
2. if every thing goes well, you will see some figures (numbers) in and out.if it is so, hurray, you have installed recovery properly.
mobile will reboot and go to recovery.

it seems that your device drivers are not installed properly.install the device drivers , than follow the instructions, like turn on the usb de bugging mode in developer options and than connect the phone.and follow he instructions. i just checked these yesterday again.

thanks for this! rooting does not seem to work, or I just don't understand Chinese? I rooted my phone using framaroot. the other file though works fine. it flashed a bootloader and a recovery image. very good indeed! thanks again.

link not working very well. DL stalls.
After i have installed chainfire 3D my phone is stucked at samsung galaxy logo.
I found that Chainfire 3D is not for Jelly Bean OS and that may be causing problem.
I am trying to download latest firmware but not able to download it from last 2 days
Could anyone please help me on this by providing firmware in parts, through torrent link or any alternative idea.
I have no backup so m not able to flash with update.zip

I have tried around 6 times but after downloading 300 mb data , downloading gets aborted

This is How I fixed mine..
I search several forum and and no one has the complete tutorial on how to use adb..
so I created my own step by step tutorial on how I did it just in case I need it again or someone needs it...
I hope this fixed yours as well..
Download ADB here: http://developer.android.com/tools/help/adb.html
1. extract the file you just download
2. put it in C: (so you can access it easily)
3. you can rename it (you can name it anything you want but we will use "Android-adb" in this tutorial)
4. open SDK Manager.exe
5. make sure that Android SDK tools, Android SDK Platform-tools, Android SDK Build-tools and Google USB Driver is installed
6. Boot your device to recovery mode (hold volume up + power) hold it until it is turned on
7. connect your device through usb to PC (it should automatically install your usb driver if not download samsung usb driver)
8. go to CMD
9.type cd c:\Android-adb\sdk\platform-tools
or
9.1 press windows + pause/break
9.2 click Advance tab
9.3 click Environment Variables
9.4 search "path" under System variable
9.5 click edit (there is a value for Variable value in default)
9.6 at the end of the default value add this ;C:\Android-adb\sdk\platform-tools
9.7 click ok
10.
type this
adb
adb shell
[email protected]:/ $ su
adb shell /system/lib/cf3d_uninstall.sh
11. your device will reboot...after that it should be fine...

Disclaimer:
- Do in mind rooting will modify your android, so you modifyind your android on your own risk, I am not responsible if tool is not working on your device or if tool make your android malfunction, you doing everything on your own risk!
Pre-requirements:
- You must have installed usb drivers! Just simple install Sony PC Companion, if your windows device manager detect unknown device than probably you must point drivers installation to search for propertly driver C:\Program Files\Sony\Sony PC Companion\Drivers directory. When your windows device manager detect your phone propertly than you are ready for rooting/unrooting
How to install (Windows users):
1: Download and extract newroot.rar
2: Enable USB Debugging
-You can do this by going into Settings>About Phone and tapping the Build Number multiple times to activate Developer Options
-Then Settings>Developer Options and check USB Debugging
3: Plug in your phone your PC

How to install (Linux users):
0. First of all you need adb for Linux, I not gona explain where you can download adb for Linux since you need to search XDA and found them byself, everybody know about adb and I not going to explain adb basic things, you need to help byself on that since adb you will need in future for sure
1: Download newroot and put to the same folder with adb binary
2: Enable USB Debugging
-You can do this by going into Settings>About Phone and tapping the Build Number multiple times to activate Developer Options
-Then Settings>Developer Options and check USB Debugging
3: Plug in your phone your PC
4: Run the root software [Pay close attention to your phone] a pop-up will come up on your phone. Allow it! Commands for runing root software is:

Allso there is a option for unrooting:

Newroot work with all kitkat firmwares but doesn't work with latest kitkat *after 108) .133, .157... firmware or with old JB firmwares!!!
If your running later kernels from out of 108 and newer firmware that you can achieve root following these steps:
1. download the .108 firmware or kernel only
2. flash only the .108 kernel using flashtool
3. Use newroot
4. Reflash back your newer kernel using flashtool

Nobody mention models or what kind of rom does this program root why? is very funny no real data, any one with solid comments about models and rom versions?
Sorry if I'm rude but I think we need some info like what firmware version works with this root or any prerequisite should we have before rooting like bootloader being unlocked etc. Also a simple tutorial would be nice for newbies to avoid confusion. Ill test this out on the latest firmware [.108] on an unlocked bootloader and I will report if this is working.
Its booth for locked on unlocked bootloaders but for no already rooted devices (except rooted by our tool), its tested on last 3 android versions. There is 2 things, it can work or not work, you can try in jellybean and let me know (probaly not working). No more words here since tool is very easy and anybody know what to do with them Enjoy if you found them usefull and easy! Anybody can post detail installation here if allready used my aplication, I am lazy sory!

To create it it follow this:-
How to make a dump:
- on rooted device download from Google Play app "TerminalEmulator" and run it;
- Enter su, appears "[email protected]:/ #", enter "dd if=dev/block/mmcblk0 of=sdcard/mmcblk0uptop7.img count=139008";
- after completion copy file "mmcblk0uptop7.img" from the phone to PC, for example to drive C:/.
