It seems like I can't make video calls on miui. Does anybody know what's the problem? Any ideas on how to make video calls work?
Any help is appreciated
Are you trying to use the front facing camera? I don't know if they're far enough along to have it working yet. Does it work when using the camera app?

Yeah it works fine in the camera app.
Just read in the MIUI forum that it's working for other people, you might need to reflash.

For instance an ics camera functioning even while on the phone.

So, you're asking if the camera can be modified to operate while on the phone? I don't know if the stock camera can, but the MIUI camera can function while playing music, while the stock cannot.
Stock can't, but any other 3rd party app can be used while in-call..

Like it has been said, Third party cameras will work. I am a fan of the MIUI camera. Search around for the APK file.
Well, I know that they had stock camera software hacked on the vibrant and they added the GPS location feature to it to maintain privacy.

I'm not sure what modifications were done beyond just the camera.apk but I know a few Roms for the Epic Touch 4G (Sprints version of the SGS2) has it. You might check their Dev section.
.....
Week if anyone comes across a miui camera apk that works on our phone and can take video please post it here

Nope, working perfectly over here.

Which Rom you using?
Edit: Just saw your edit
I don't see the point of this app to share pictures? Pixel~O~ Matic is way superior app with way more and better quality filters. Share to twitter and Facebook. Always could do this natively. Plus the app andmadeshare can share to multiple social networking sites at once already. I uninstalled the app after 10 minutes playing with it.

Seems like instagram is full of retard iphone fan boys. I don't like how the app has no settings and pics aren't saved on the device. Seems poorly coded with ios ui

Anyone notice that the android app is missing some of the editing features that the ios app does have.. Kind of a let down. Does anyone know of a picture app that will let you change depth of field? Thanks
Bummer it's not working on ICS roms right now, I've been waiting for this to be released on Android. Crashes and forces reboot on my phone right now Played with on the wifes gingerbread phone, works great looks great.

It's a bug with ICS roms.
Can someone please help me? I tried using the LED on the camera and video recording and with a flashlight app and the LED never works for any of them!

What is your current setup? Rom, kernel? Did it work for you before?
Hmm did you wipe before you flashed? If you did try stock or another rom. Like CM9. If it still doesn't work its a Hardware issue

For the camera at the moment you have to toggle from auto to on and back to auto before it will work properly. Functionality for video recording hasn't been sorted out yet. Right now they are concentrating on more "under the hood" type bugs to ensure stability and performance and I'm sure these two things will be on their list at some point.

Um what's the 'issue'?
Are you on "Touched By SGSIV V 1.4"?
What is the fix you tried?
There is a link saying it might fix it when you go to rec it freezes and force close the rom has two cameras on it because of that issue not a big deal just wanted to get some feed back to see if someone knows

Just delete the camera apk that doesn't work using Titanium Backup or a root explorer.

Anyone else having the issue where the front facing camera is super zoomed in and can't zoom out when using Skype?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
I have the same problem! It's very annoying. I know it's not supposed to be that way because it isn't zoomed in when viewing in the Camera app.
I would have thought it would have between fixed by now... But then again Skype is a Microsoft product now.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Same problem for me too.
Also installed Skype 4 from a white listed android phone and same problem.
Looks like it is fixed now.
