I was wondering if the gsm GNEX accessories will fit the CDMA version
(like the screen protector, cases, skins, battery cover, oem and extended battery ect.) ive searched but couldnt get a straight answer..sorry im new to GNEX,
just switched over from the rezound..and looking foward to the Gnex forums
THANKS!
Screen protectors and cases will fit. Most cases are marketed as such. They're not nearly different enough in thickness to matter. The only ones I'd think twice about are tight waterproof cases or something like that that's more device specific.
but... Batteries and covers are not cross-compatible, you have to buy the correct one!! Which is i515 fro VZW. You can't use i9250 batteries or covers.
The car docks are not cross compatible either.
thanks guys..answered my questions..was gonna get a aftermarket battery cover but never mind lol
I know this should probably go in question and answers but it pertains specifically to accessories so I'm posting it here. Is there anyone nationwide that actually sells cellphone cases and whatnot anymore? Other than Verizon stores small selection (even at flagship stores), I can't seem to find anywhere that actually carries more than one or two cases for this phone or any cell for that matter other than iPhone crap. I love online prices but I've probably wasted almost 100 bucks on cases for this phone because I can't actually see or try them before I buy. I happen to have the GSM with extended battery but ran into the same problems with the non extended GSM I bought for my wife and also when shopping for cases for my dads Verizon model. It is extremely frustrating. Most cases don't fit properly or peel screen protectors when installing or removing. I'm not blaming case makers for this even, but it seems like such a shame that you have to go online and roll the dice for everything nowadays. I buy lots online so I'm not pining for the good old days or anything like that but some stuff you want to see and feel before you buy. Buying most of these online means you waste lots on shipping to return to the point where going through the hassle isn't worth it.
Are any national retailers carrying this phones accessories? I'm willing to pay a bit more to get something that actually works for me.

The only major retailer I can think of, that we have in common, that carries stuff here is Best Buy. They have ~6 case options: Casemate, Otterbox (both versions), Incipio (a couple of versions), +. I can't imagine there being less of a selection at BB in the US.
I've tried a few, and I'm picky, I ended up ordering the Cruzerlite Androidify; very happy with fit, feel, size, etc... The Incipio Feather and Casemate Barely There left me underwhelmed; they can't seem to get the fit right for devices that have curves.
Thanks for the reply. I have 2 cruzer lite cases. One is smoked which I kept, and gave the clear Andy version to my dad with his new lte extended battery. They are nice but tpu cases aren't my favorite. I'm using an sgp Neo hybrid right now and its alright but has a bit of a gap around the camera hole on the extended GSM battery model. I'm looking to find a case that has a little more protection for travel. The case mate tough does not fit for extended and my wife's non extended causes the protector to peel.

Hello,
I have the International GSM unlocked version of the GNex. Shortly after purchase, I did something I have not done in many many years. I actually bought something from Radio Shack. As it seems none of the big stores have any cases for the GNex, I just happened to pass by an RS and found the OtterBox Defender. I absolutely hated it:
1) It seems the very top of the case did not fit tightly enough. The main issue was that it made it VERY difficult to access the notification bar on the GNex. I actually had to squeeze the case a little.
2) There is space between the screen protector and screen. This made it very easy for dust, threads, junk to get between the two.
3) The case never seemed to really go together solid. It always kind of squeeked (which I have seen in other threads)
4) Having come from the GSM HTC Hero, one thing that I was worried about in switching to the GNex was slipping it into my pocket. I have been very impressed with how slim the GNex is. The OtterBox made it a big hunk of junk.
One thing I have not figured out is if the GSM International version might be a slightly different size than the Verizon version? The look the same in the store.

The international GSM version is thinner than the LTE version that Verizon has. That might account for some of your issues. Although even with the difference in thickness, there's still a bit of space between the screen and the screen protector on the LTE version. Many people have complained about the dust and random crap that gets in there on the Defender case.
I have the Defender for the Galaxy Nexus (it came with it), and I personally don't like it either. I used it for all of half a day before I decided that it just wasn't for me. I ended up going with the Diztronic case, and it's just about perfect. It even works with the OEM extended battery for the LTE version. I typically don't like TPU cases, but this one doesn't feel like a TPU case once it's on. It has a much more solid feel without adding much of any bulk to the phone.
I had similar impressions with the Otterbox Defender that one of my friends had on his Nexus S. It seems to offer great protection, but the built-in screen protector caused more problems than a stick-on kind.
I love the Commuter series cases and had one on my Galaxy Nexus for a few months until I got the SGP Crumena leather sleeve. I've been very impressed with it so far - a fantastic case that isn't a case
Im using a gsm nexus with the defender . I removed the screen protector with goo gone, then applied an ebay type screen protector directly to the screen . Major improvement with that dust behind the lense problem. Now about the size. The defender is literally too big for the gsm model. I folded a microfiber cloth and placed it behind the phone. That made it fit better until i get a bigger battery. Ive heard rumors that the 2200 mah batteries fit inside the defender with all the extra room.

I thought i'd ask the AT&T folks, the international forum is too large and impersonal.
Im looking at this one for myself: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nillkin-Mat...841&pid=100011&prg=1005&rk=1&sd=140855149689&
I got that one in white. Waiting on the Marble White version to be available for AT&T.
The ONE thing nice about not having the phone in hands yet is it has given me time to get some goodies on order with cheap shipping. I have four cases headed my way (yes idle hands). As you will see from my selections, I like cases that are TPU or similar for absorbing shock. I don't like very bulky cases.
Yello TPU from Amazon

Gray X-line that seems to be everywhere on the web
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gray-X-Line...168197?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2a24a129c5
Then the Flexshield cases. I think one of these will be my everyday case. I couldn't decide between transparent or black so I ordered both. They come from mobilefun.com in the UK and since I had so much time to wait (November 9th or so) I used the cheap $5 shipping and it should be here by then.

I got that nilikin case (I have a tmob with att sim). Its even more slippery than the phone itself which I don't like. It looks good though.

I was going to get the Nilikin case but decide to get this in black instead.

Still haven't decided if I am getting the Note yet, I have SGS3 and its great, with a nice strong seido case (extended battery active) it isn't too big. I feel like having a big case on the note will be too much. I'm in the army and the SGS3 barely fits in my ankle pockets now, Only option for the Note would be in my cargo pockets and it might break in there...
i am looking into the Nilikin case atleast until there is an otterbox commuter for the note 2
Case I ordered
This is the case I ordered from Korea.
1) some sort of a metallic material bumper case (black)
2) some sort of a metallic material battery cover (black)
and its going to be going on the Titanium Grey colored version of the note 2
by the way the second picture is the metal battery cover by itself.
I got this clear hard shell case at Amazon for $10.99.
Trident. Just have to baby it for a month or so. :good:
Ive got the Nilikin cases in white and black. Not a fan of the texture. But it was the only thing available that was decent at the time. Im waiting for the Elago slim cases to come out which i have on my original Note.
I just ordered this case of ebay, not bad for the price and it looks half decent. I will post pictures once i get it and the phone(still waiting for rogers to ship)
edit: search the popular bidding sight for " Samsung Galaxy Note2 II N7100 2in1 Black TPU Metallic Red Hybrid Case+Screen"
hey guys i got a quick question im currently married to my skyrocket...but im leaving her for this beautful note 2. something i came across that was rather annoying with the skyrocket when it came to cases is that the phone style changed based on the carriers. e.g the speaker orientation on the sgs2 hercules vs the sgs2 skyrocket where different. even tho they are the same phone specs wise. is this the same here since all the cases linked here are for the n7100 and our phones are the n7137m and n7147m or something to that effect thanks for your replies in advance
The note 2 as far as dimensions go are the same across all models. So all cases will work

thanks bro
I just ordered this case :http://tinyurl.com/cbtohpn
and this one: http://tinyurl.com/c7cae3j
both from ebay
i also bought the ZAGG body shield
Boxwave case with the integrated stand. I have the black one on my current Note and it works great. The stand isn't super strong (can't expect it to be on a slim plastic case) but it's built well and holds the phone well also.
The case isn't available yet so keeping an eye out.
Has anyone tried any of the cases for the OnePlus 8?
LewLater Case on pre-order. It's not the cheapest case especially factoring in the shipping cost but I prefer to have a barely-there, slim case.
Wow that's quite expensive
I bought one from LaterCase which is yet to arrive
I have the Cyan sandstone protective case and the nylon bumper with the pop-up box.
I love the nylon bumper
I've ordered a couple of cases from Amazon, one is a matte transparent case w/black TPU side bumper:
OnePlus 8 Case [Frosting Transparent Back] Ultra-Thin Soft TPU [Shock Absorption] Slim Fit Lightweight Shockproof Armor Cover Hybrid Protective Case Compatible with Oneplus 8 (Black, 1+8) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087CW225G/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_6WjUEbE6JCY8G
This is the one I'm actually after, a matte transparent Frameless Case (arrival estimate 2+ months from now, so, I ordered the one above in the meantime) :
OnePlus 8 Frameless Case, EabHulie Slim Translucent Hard Back Matte Skin Soft TPU Bumper Corners Shockproof Case Cover for OnePlus 8 Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0881W9VBG/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_1ZjUEbZX8D19V
I used the same Frameless Case on the OnePlus 7T Pro (fits the OnePlus 7 Pro as well) & it performed well for what I was wanting, minimal coverage & preventing accidental edge touches. It actually did that a bit too well on the sides, but, I adjusted to it, better than the alternative of a bulky case or, going sans case.
As the edge contours seem to be less dramatic vs the OP7 Pro / OP7T Pro, hoping they nailed it on the side coverage/touch sensitivity sweet spot.
I've done a review of 3 flip cases - see the other post in this forum
I highly recommend the Tudia Merge. It's a dual layer case - TPU and Plastic. Fits really well, buttons still feel good. I've used the Merge cases for my past several OnePlus phones, and all have been great.

Anyone know where to buy the original sandstone case from other than 1+ direct with silly postage fees
Just picked up this case from T-Mobile US, from their budget conscious brand GoTo:
https://www.t-mobile.com/accessory/goto-define-case-for-oneplus-8-5g
My 2¢/ Pros & Cons.
Pro:
1) Availability, shouldn't be too difficult to find a T-Mobile store that has it in stock, especially with the phone still being relatively new.
2) Fit is excellent, cutouts are precise. The camera cutout extends well below the flash, not a deal breaker, but, I think they should have opted for a more precise cutout for the lenses & a separate hole for the flash. Perhaps this was a cost-cutting measure.....
3) Feel in hand is acceptable, neither the slimmest or bulkiest case I've used.
For feel in hand perspective, if you've used a RhinoShield Crash Guard bumper, this case is slimmer in the grip,a lot more comfortable vs the Crash Guard bumper.
Cons:
1) Price isn't insane, but, I do feel it's a bit much @ $19.99. Sure, it's about 1/2 the price of other cases sold by T-Mobile, but, as everyone here is painfully aware, carrier accessories are grossly overpriced,
So yeah, this case is overpriced vs Amazon/AliExpress/eBay & in a lot of instances, buying direct from the mfg w/a discount code.
2) The volume/notification slider cut-out, while precise,is a bit cramped for one-handed use. Not a biggie for me, I rarely use it, but, for those where this is a priority, perhaps this case is not for you.
Fortunately, the box for the case (at least mine) was not sealed, so, if buying from a brick & mortar store, you should be able to try it out before buying
Misc:
The design of the backside is a bit weird in the looks department, reminiscent of poor 'ol HTC's earlier efforts in the "big chin" look on the front of their phones.
To me, it's not a big deal, but, if I were choosing in-store w/a comparably priced/designed case w/o the "chin'", I'd opt for the other case.
Ditto on the branding of the "GoTo" logo. It's actually not that noticeable, but, again, same scenario just mentioned, I'd opt for the competition.
FWIW, I loathe cases w/branding, as most go overboard w/it, I prefer minimal/unbranded cases, typically one color/material when possible, less is more for my usage.
Would I recommend it?
Sure, it strikes a good balance of form/function (less the slider cutout). If you need a case ASAP for the unlocked or T-Mobile version, it's a worthwhile case.
However, if you don't mind waiting for mail order from wherever you shop online, you could probably find a case that fits your needs at a better price.
I ordered the transparent TPU & carbon fiber cases from OnePlus when I ordered my OP8. Both are way too slippery. Ordered a Rinke Fusion X on Amazon, and I like it much better.
Pros:
- Very grippy!
- Good side & corner protection
- Transparent back shows off phone color nicely
Cons:
- Raised plastic "button guards" make finding buttons by feel a touch difficult
- Minimal front protection
Overall rating: 4.5 Stars

verizon cases
Any generic cases that'll fit the verizon version, or are verizon users stuck with the ones on their website? I'd read somewhere that "some" generic cases "might" fit the verizon phone, but can't find any more info. Thanks.
Unfortunately I can't answer the question about the case, but I do have a related question.. What is different about the Verizon version of the OnePlus 8, vs like the T-mobile, or unlocked version.
I'm looking for cases myself, but I have the one from T-mobile. And when searching amazon, I've seen some listed as "Verizon Only" ..

Don't know how you did that...all the ones I find say "Not for Verizon". The difference, as I understand it, is verizon's 5g hardware is bigger / located in a different location, which caused some buttons to be moved. So for most case designs, verizon phones won't work, but all other 8's (not pro) will...the exception would be a few that have cutouts that can accomodate either configuration...but info on which those are is sparse.

I went through a lot of pages of case on amazon; as 99% of them are terrible cheap looking crap, and a lot were for the wrong device as Amazons search sucks.. but there were a few. One I actually liked but it says Verizon only..

Wondering how that helps, as the OP is looking for a Verizon Case, not T-mobile.
I'm loving my Supcase

I bought this case super finish and affordable. Its the nylon version from Nilkin.
Super slim and grippy case suggestions?
I am looking for a slim/minimalistic case.
Is Official Sandstone case grippier than the Nylon case?
I have the nylon and I like it but with the added size of the case it's harder to grip. I'm thinking about getting the Sandstone case but not sure if it would help any with phone slipping out of my hand.
Ideally I would like a slimmer case with better grip and lip to protect screen and ideally camera.
Thanks all!
