Nice!! F U CIQ!

This is a nice find. Let's see if it prevails to be true

Wonder how much this will free up resources without it running in the background?

Maybe EL stand for End Lawsuit.

No, alphabetical. I suspect they leaked it so they could get a better test base since sprint wants it asap. Curious to see if this helps speed up ota updates. Read another article the other day saying how much testing is done for ciq on devices.

Not to mention what this must be doing to their network... 1/4 of ALL Sprint devices sending data at once... all the time?!?!
Of course, the privacy rights violations are the main issue, but wow... that must have been having some affect on the network.

I've been running EL13 since the leak, battery life does seem a bit better over EG30. Cannot compare to EK02 as I didn't get the OTA or flash it but it is improved over EG30 in my experience.

lol nice QB tossed you a add on G+ since I already follow ya on the tube lol. So nice they actually listened.

I have been running the EL rom for three days now.
My battery drain without using it for one day was 3.25% per hour on EG30 based on an all day no touch(screen on less than 3 min, max cell signal, with WIFI on and attached.
On EL13 my battery drain is now 3.85% per hour with the exact same testing situation.
So it looks like the battery usage has went up.
real world usage on EG30 was... fully charged and taken off charger at 8AM. by noon I would be at 75-80% with about 30+min of screen on using maps, web, and reader. Plug back in at around 11PM and the phone would be setting in the 30's with a total average screen on time of 2 hours.
Now on EL13 today I hit 64% battery at noon with 45 min of screen on using maps, web, reader. I am currently 4:20PM at 42% with a screen time of 1h22m.
To me it looks like the battery is worse, especially in the real world usage tests. I will be doing more testing this weekend and will see how it hold up to total screen on time. On EG30 I could pull 4h30m+ using a mix of apps and 3+ hours playing games. I will be testing those two fully. But right now I'm looking at going back to EG30.

Oh to be in a world without CIQ!

Juice defender?

Juice defender? Does it work
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
It's been downloaded/installed 1,000,000 - 5,000,000 times and it has a 4/5 star rating with 15,838 ratings -- so that's probably a "Yes".
It's free... give it a whirl.
I used to be all "ZOMG I NEED TEH ROMZ N KERNULS WIT TEH BESTEST BATTERY LIEF" but then I realized that I sit on my ass at a desk/computer all day at work, and I'm at home more often than not, so I don't really pay attention to my battery life anymore; I'm rarely not able to charge my phone somehow.
EDIT: A co-worker of mine swears by JuiceDefender. Personally, I just don't see the point.
Yes, it works WONDERS. Also, hit up my sig for a bunch of other things you can do to help your battery life (but I can't stress enough how good Juice Defender is )
It works, but I don't think it works properly on Gingerbread yet.
Juice defender doesn't work to ME, I'd say try the free version before you buy ultimate juice for 5 bucks. I actually think it hurts my battery and I've done many test while at work from 8am-5pm to prove it. I've ran these test on 2.2 and 2.3; it doesn't have 2.3 support yet so it just pisses your phone off.
Thanks guys ill give it a try

Agreed. I've been running version 3.4.4 beta (which is currently only available in the private beta) and it's been working great on gingerbread-evo-deck. None of the publicly available releases work on gingerbread yet, though.
The only problem I've had with the gingerbread ROMs I've tried is that they don't have an option to disable always on mobile data. This drained my battery life whenever I spent an extended amount of time in a place that didn't have good reception (like everyday at work), since it was continuously trying to connect to 3g. Juice Defender solved that problem and now I get great battery life regardless of where I go.

[Q][discussion]Cool software features of GS3 ported to our Nexi

A couple of things that I would like to see on custom ROMS
SVoice. First of all I really don't care about SVoice. But I find pretty cool that when alarm rings you can just say "snooze" instead of wondering in the dark where is your phone.
Eye tracking to keep screen on
Direct call
Auto tagging of photos
Is this possible for the ROM developers? I mean the hardware is there, right?

Eye tracking is going to be such a battery drain, LOL.
Running a big screen and FFC together throughout the day is going to be a killer.

My job just got me a new phone SGSIII! Way better than the on call Blackberry

Came in today to find a SGS3 on my desk woot! I like ICS wish it had Jelly bean, but it's great so far. I gotta get this an xoskin right after work, woot for a company card. I have had a Blackberry Bold for an on call phone and I guess my complaints didnt fall on deaf ears. The thing had issues, I dont even know where they got it. The sticker on the back says property of research in motion limited. It was like some demo blackberry haha. Just waiting for exchange to sync, then I will customize it. What average battery life should I expect? I had like 3 spare batteries on my old evo, as long as I can get 8 hours I should be good.

You can get jellybean, there's a couple good stable ROMs. I'm using baked black bean 5 right now and it does well, you can use team venum's jellybean ROM because its touchwiz, although I really don't like touchwiz(thought it was great until I tried normal android without it)oh and jellybean would require root unless you wait for the official update which is supposed to be this month.
I'm on stock unrooted(for now at least) and I can go from 7 am to 10 pm with about 6 or 7 hours of screen on time and still have around 20 percent left.

4g speed of S3 vs iPhone 5 from T-Mobile?

My brother just got new Tmobile branded iPhone 5's Friday. I've had my Tmobile T999 S3 since June'ish...
We live in Dallas, where there is no LTE support yet. So this is strictly HSPA+4g speeds here (supposedly)
Last night, side by side, using the speed test app from the play store and app store, we were getting very different speeds. His iPhone 5 was smoking my S3? I was getting download speeds of around 6-8mb/sec while he was getting a consistent 10-12mb/sec down.
Upload he nudged me out, he was getting around 2mb/sec upload compared to my 1.4(ish)mb/sec upload.
Again Dallas TX does not offer LTE on Tmobile (yet). So it wasn't that.
Sent using T999 with DarthStalker ROM
Don't do the speed test simultaneously, you both are the same tower and all, so going at the same time is dumb... regardless the iPhone 5 might have a better radio, start switching up radios and see which your phone likes more. It's all not going to make a difference while downloading Temple run any ways. Brothers man, always trying to one up the other lol.

Always til the end when it comes to bros lol. Like I said if you're rooted maybe try different modems/radios and see which is best for you, best not to test right now being high traffic times I'm sure. That and the iPhone coming out speeds will slowly get worse til the network is beefed up from the money T-Mobile will get from the iSheep.
Yeah you guys probably shouldn't do it at the same time. Try doing at different times from somewhere you both have good signal. I get around 14-15mb on average but might be because of location, I live in Miami.

Well so far the I8 modem does give slight better download data speeds vs the LC modem. But its not night and day or anything.....
On the "C" modem I was averaging 6'ish with bursts in the 10 range... So far with i8 modem I'm slightly higher with bursts in the 12-13 range. GPS locks fast, but did with "C" also.
I will report back after testing for a few more days... this is only a day or two of testing so far.

Speeds are a major factor... Also get GPS Test from the market and see how long it takes to lock and how many satellites you connect to, make some phone calls and check voice quality (I have noticed that LI* radios hold onto HSPA voice much longer than LJ* radios do, which results in a massive increase in voice quality and allows you to use voice and data simultaneously). Battery Benchmark from market is a great way to see what your battery life is like.
If you put your hand on the bottom of the phone where the radio antenna, that can affect speeds/signal for the gs3.
