If you open settings, yes. Just close the tab.
Right after installing and testing the new Flash App I had the first crash and reboot of my Nexus. So still a bit buggy...
mine's working fine. I use flash for very few sites, but at least it works so far.
How can it be disabled after install?
Thanks
i think ill pass.. my phone has been working great without it thus far.. lol

Unistalled it anyway. The minute I added it to the phone it started to hiccup. F#$#ing Flash.
yesss! i love it! I just came from froyo and i was really upset that the latest and greatest android phone didn't support flash! I called up samsung twice to vent about how pissed i was that the principal selling point of android phones over apple's phones is lacking on google's flagship model.
It also give me a great argument at Bell's loyalty department to get my self a KILLER plan
But now its here! and i am ever so happy!

I agree what a disappointment. Sure it works but it completely ruined the browsers buttery smooth scrolling.
Just install it and set plugins to 'on demand'. That way it won't ruin the performance, but you have the opportunity to start flash if you want to.
don't miss it. So won't bother installing it until I need it for something.
It doesn't hurt to have it especially if you set it to on demand. Surprised at how many people are unaware of this option.

Same here. I'm not playing any flash games and YouTube is working very nicely via the app.
No flash ad banners either. Yay.

For one does anyone own nova and have gotten through the singleplayer with it.
Secondly I am on the second mission, something void. I get to a part in the game where you have to upload the virus using a terminal. After uploading the virus those green aliens spawn in and I kill them all. After killing them all nothing happens all the door locked.
I downloaded the game from the android gameloft website and purchased it after testing the trial bfrom the games ui.

It's a known issue. I managed to play through the game using version 3.3.9. Anything I upgraded to seemed to get hung at one part or another (virus upload or the hangar area in the level after the virus part). Hope this helps.
I have same problem ...so I started over thinking I did something wrong lol...guess I didnt
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
Yea thats what I gathered, gamelofts support as not very helpful and instead just said device not supported. Instead of telling about the bug.
I guess only way to play is to find that lower version which is disappointing considering I paid money for this.
There's a version on a website that sounds like Wobilism (turn the W upside down and you have your site) They have addressed this issue and have a fixed version. Keep in mind it is hacked and since warez and stuff aren't supported here so I can't link to it. Works fine for me though and I can confirm it works.
Its just a patch in my eyes since I actually bought it, thanks for the tip.

** EDIT for new info **:
Flash for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be out before the end of 2011. There will be no Flash support for Android 5.0:
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/43152/flash-for-android-4-end-2011-no-flash-for-android-5
The main reason why I switched to Android was it's Flash support. Finding out recently that ICS did not support Flash and that Adobe was discontinuing Flash development was very discouraging.
Google has confirmed that Flash is not yet operational in ICS, but Google is also confirming that Adobe will support Flash in ICS.
“Flash hasn’t been released for ICS yet. So as far as we know, Adobe will support Flash for ICS.” – Google

Although discouraging and disappointing at first, there is now hope.
So Flash Player doesn't even show up in the Android Market on the Galaxy Nexus but I thought that one can install the apk on the phone. It seems that this doesn't work either, according to other users who've already got theirs. e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351167
Half the bloody web uses Flash. How are we supposed to view those sites?
To be honest I'm glad there is no support at the moment and wish that it wouldn't come. I haven't missed it since upgrading to the Nexus and if anything browsing is faster!
has anyone tried side loading it
Flash is going to die in mobile platforms, and we should be pressing video stream websites to use html5, instead of crying about flash's death. Damn memory/cpu hog.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
i dont know about you guys, but for me, more then half the web uses flash. The only reason im not getting iphone because of flash. The stream i always go to, uses flash. gonna wait a month, if they dont support flash on nexus, im getting sgs2
SGS2 will eventually get ICS and will have similar "problem"

i her simple apps like tweecaster and facebook do not work! is this true? wtf is going on?. not having flash is a bummer. at least we should have the option. volume issues, no flash, simple apps not working.. this is getting really discouraging
Because they aren't updated for ics I would say. And because the Nexus is the only ics device at the moment they are probably to lazy to do so.

you keep running the Apple party line. the rest of us would prefer to have the option for when we need it.
Adobe Flash is currently #24 in the top (free) apps for Android. and the majority of the low reviews are from idiots using 50 dollar Cricket android phones.
don't like it? don't use it. no reason to come in here and spout nonsense.
Hopefully this will shut up the people who keep going on about no Flash support on the GN. It's a brand new hardware running a brand new software; of course there are going to be compatibility issues for early adopters.

Several people have reported trying to sideload the latest flash apk for Honeycomb - it didn't work.
About the apps issue, how long is it before they usually get sorted out and ready for the latest OS (right now ICS). I know that the main reason I use my phone for is Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Browsing.
I'm not guessing too long right?

If those 4 things are your main concerns it shouldn't be a problem. As far as I know Twitter works fine. Official Facebook app has always been pretty ass on the Android so if you can live with it before you can probably live with it now. YouTube is natively supported and apart from not having Flash the browser is blazing fast.

probably yes but I have seen flash break many times even after minor android point releases, so by 4.1.2 it could be even, reduced to iPhone level
Its not the worst thing ever. I never have had a need for flash on my iPhone (obviously) or my android devices.
It's very old news, there's no flash in Chrome for android. This is actually very good news imo. Web developers, myself included, spent years creating crazy hacks to make things work in ie6. About 4 years ago a small group realized that as long as that happened there was no incentive for ie6 users to upgrade. Slowly it became more common to display a warning to ie6 users only using...
<!--[if lte ie6]-->
This has resulted in a huge reduction in use of ie6.
Flash is as dead as ie6 but as long as browsers keep supporting it people will keep using it. Advancement in web development technology has always been hampered by the idea that we must keep supporting old technologies.
Adobe are leading the way in html5 authoring tools and feel the alternative already exists, I agree.
HTML5 is absolutely ready for primetime. The W3C's definition that it isn't has to be seen in context, it's not fully defined so officially it is not ready, real world usage is effective though as most elements are defined and it adequately replaces flash and xhtml. So far, all browsers with no flash support are pretty good with HTML5 so its simple enough to code fall backs both ways so some see flash and some see html5 depending on capability. I recently created a video gallery for a client that does this, as a result the video player falls forward (as it were) to HTML5 when the browser is capable, thus videos can be viewed on iDevices and Android.

Not true, as a programming language html5 is way more efficient than flash (or actionscript). But just because it is a good language doesn't mean you can't write bad code in it.
Also, I for one have not had any issues with the implementation at YouTube.

Now iv been looking for a leaked apk of this all over. if you havent heard about it yet then jump on to your fb account and check it out. its been a part of my news feed for days. more that i read it seems this will be more of a rom than an app. witch confuses me because the way fb had worded it, it had seemed like it was going to be an app also. im no crazy facebooker like my gf but im curious to see how this changes things like the lock screen, home screens and the overlay of fb msger. does anyone have more info on this or just maybe a leaked apk they saw fall off the back of the truck and and point me where i can find it on the side of the road lol.
more infor if anyone wanted to read http://www.topapksite.com/facebook-home-rom-leaked-ahead-of-releasethe-droid-guy/

I was first thinking it was just something for the htc first. But now I'm under the impression that it's going to be a replacement launcher like apex or nova.
I thought it was announced? It's a launcher, but it's more integrated than other launchers as it also replaces the lockscreen and has that overlay. Personally, as a college student who uses facebook for communication and stalking his friends, I'd use it lol.

I might mess with it to see what theyve been up to at FB, but I cant imagine wanting to use this as a regular launcher. Especially if its anything like their native app.
My understanding is just that it is a launcher that is heavily integrated with FB.

So Facebook home was released today and after reading the requirements our phone should run it just fine. But they would rather supply it to the popular phones. Is there a sure way of getting the official release on our phone through the market? I know there's a way to change the play store to think this is a different device. How do I do that? All I can find are enablers that don't work on most phones this one included
Edit: never mind. That still doesn't work. Edited the build.prop and still no luck. Even the Facebook that supposed to have the "home" settings doesn't have it for my device. And the leak files won't allow me to log in. I'm assuming that has something to do with the device as well..

I use multi-window a lot on my Note 3.
I thought it was an Android feature.
Apparently it's a proprietary software not an Android feature.
Ok. So what's the point? Omni will come for the find 7a and support multi windowww
Sent from my X909 using xda app-developers app
The point is to generate a healthy discussion.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe they're is a way to get multi-window on the find 7.
I looked up omniRom. It looks like but it'll require rooting. I don't like rooting.
I'm not trying to be contrarian.
I was literally about order the Find 7 (not 7a) but then realized I have to sacrifice multi-window.
I'm using MW right now. Reading chats in what's app & writing this.
You couldn't have read too much because you cannot order the 7 yet. They haven't even announced when you might be able to put in your pre order. The outfit making the screens has just gone into production which implies the wait will be at the least several more weeks and more likely later. They answered an email asking with an early June estimate.
As to being a deal breaker that's in your court. I won't own a phone without root myself, that is one of my deal breakers. We each make our choices...
No one asked you if it a deal breaker to you.
It's a deal breaker to people who require a multi-window feature.
Clearly we have identified oppo fanboys.
Pre-production fanboys at that lol.
I never said I was going to buy the phone and haven't made up my own mind. I find it a little disconcerting that the app storage is quite low and surprisingly it cannot be easily reformatted as I expected. Or at least previous offerings and the 7A cannot be easily repartitioned. I also am a bit surprised that they are not shipping on 4.4X since a pilot version of it would have been available to them quite a while ago. Considering the fact that they have just finished their latest skin for 4.3 you have to figure it may be a while before you see 4.4X on this phone.
As to your response I don't need to ask permission on a public forum to speak my mind and I don't care what you did or did not ask. My response was directly to the point, you have made your choice and its as valid as mine. It is as you say a deal breaker for you but you are the only person you speak for, others can speak for themselves. I also you use multi window which I will simply add if I decide to buy in here. Many will do the same meaning its not a deal breaker for them either. Course some don't use it and don't care. We all make our choices. Think before you type.
Have you tried "Multi Window - Multi Browsing" in the play store. I understand it is a partial solution only.
I had a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, nice (never used S-Pen ever except to try it) but wanted 4.4 so bought an Sony Xperia Ultra GPE (Now that could use multi-window). Went to a new HTC One M8 (a phone again).
I will pick up an Oppo Find 7 (not 7a) when available. Specs look great (and obviously I'm a gadget geek).
So I would say try the "Multi Window - Multi Browsing" app on the Note 3, just to kick the tires.
Thanks Rudolph.

Not yet, it's unofficial and not yet merged. I've been including it in the test builds but it won't be in nightlies.
(Why? Try using G+ when the device is in landscape... Or just do a portrait/landscape transition. Those are the two main issues that have prevented merging.)
