Verizon Galaxy Nexus 2100mah extended battery DOES NOT FIT GSM Nexus! :( - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Ran to get the last one in a nearby store and the battery doesn't fit in the GSM Nexus. Not even close. The battery itself is wider than the battery compartment in the GSM Nexus so no way to jam it in.
Such a shame.
On a side note, I'll be selling this 2100mah extended battery if anyone is interested since they are in short supply - rather sell it to a fellow XDA peep than return to store and have a random person get it.

A friend of mine said the droid charge battery will fit. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

No NFC then. The key was this one had NFC like our current batteries.

Me too - that's why I ran to get it!!
The actual size of the battery is different though and now people are saying the battery covers themselves are different so even if the battery fit the cover wouldn't.
I really hope Samsung sells something like this for the GSM nexus

Nope. There's a thread around here somewhere on the internals - different layout for the i515 and i9250.
i9250 battery here (local for me, I'm sure there's UK distributors):

i515 battery here (listed but out of stock):

Does this extended battery fit any docks at all? Car or desktop?
If you are going to get an extended battery and give up your otterbox and possibly all dock support, why bother with a 2100 mAh version at all?
I am not sure I would use a phone this valuable (and without gorilla glass) naked.

These are expensive! Hope the UK one isn't this expensive

I don't care what the UK price is, I just want it to get announced already so I can buy this phone again! I had to sell it for various reasons, one of them being the battery life.

extended batteries are $25 on verizon website. Just don't log in an put it in your cart.

Wow. It seems that despite any apparent similarities in name, the gsm and lte phones are as different a couple of Galaxy S variants.

Anybody that bought the extended battery from a Verizon corporate store for 50 bucks needs to go get their price adjusted.
It is half off. First it was only in store, and then it popped up online. I paid 24.99 for mine plus tax at a corporate location. Made the decision much easier

I hope a gsm version shows up soon, you can never have too much battery life!

Best extended battery for ET4G!

Guys if you need a extended battery for your ET4G, try Gorilla gadgets.

How's the quality? How long have you had it?
I came across this video (its for the EVO 4G gorilla gadgets battery, but seeing it makes me concerned of the quality of their products).
I've been using this gorilla gadgets extended battery for about six weeks and I am very satisfied with the performance. I get about 12 hrs or more between charges with moderate use. And yes, I had htc evo with extended battery from the same company. That is how I found out about gorilla gadgets. Not to forget, the shipping is pretty fast!
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
I used the Incredicell in my EVO 3D and it was great. I will probably get one when I get my E4GT. The door looks kinda ugly, but the battery is solid.
http://www.accessoryswamp.com/3500mah-extended-life-samsung-epic-4g-touch-battery.html?limit=20
I too had a incredicell extended battery for my ET4G but few weeks later I was not happy with it's performance. So I checked gorilla gadgets and ordered one from them.

@ JoeBruin32, GG extended battery's performance is way better compare to the one from ebay. Check gorillagadgets.com and read reviews about their products. You will be amazed. I had an htc evo a while ago with GG extended battery and I never had to worry about running out of battery. With GG extended battery I was able to unleashed the power of it.. Lol

These are all the exact same batteries as what you would get on ebay, the only difference is the branding.
@ pbassjunk, yes they do look the same but the GG's last way longer than the one from Ebay.

Links? I don't want to purchase one that doesn't work. Are there variations that don't work with the GSII?

No it does not. Uses the same stock battery cover. Anyways, I don't work for Anker but I hate when peeps spend useless money on name brand crap when there is no need to. Good luck with any choice that is made, in the end having a extended battery has saved me in the past.
Even I bought the Anker ones from Amazon

Got a great price for a set of 2 batteries plus a wall charger !!! Try it out.
I have both the Anker and Nexus batteries. I think the Nexus one lasts a bit longer, no tests/data to back it up though. Both are good choices and certainly better than stock.
I ended up buying the Anker one. Thanks for info, I'll post a quick review when I try it out.

That question is impossible to answer because what I get and what 10 other people get is always based on usage and what is on. I am on my phone all day and either checking twitter and a ton of texting. I know I typically get around 5-6 hours more usage than I got before with stock which is perfect for me.

Usually, no-name Chinese lipo got overrated mAh capacity ratings (like this one 2400mAh in same case as regular Samsung battery which is only 1850-2100 mAh). Even more then Anker - 2200mAh.
But someone got tested Anker battery - so maybe by reducing cycles life Anker made it happened (2200mAh)
2400mAh capacity for 6 bucks needs to be verified for sure.
I ordered the anker one for $10 bucks.. i will post screen shots here comparing stock vs the anker one if thats ok with the op. And if you could do the same with your stock and the one u bought would be awesome that way we can see which one really is better.
Edit : so far this is my stock

Just picked up two 2900mAh batteries for s3

Hey guys!
Just picked up two 2900mAh batteries for the Samsung Galaxy S3!
It came with a portable battery wall charger.
They're rated for 3.8v and 2900mAh
All for $20 too.
Perks of living in a really big city I guess.
I don't mean to be a braggard.
Just sharing my excitement!
I'm just happy they're not fat extended batteries. Thus not requiring a new cover and I can still use my otterbox defender too.

why do all the cool cases come out right before the phones about to be outdated... I'm sure we can expect the s4 to be announced early next month.. I wouldn't spend 70 for a case for a phone ill have another 2 months, but I would for one ill have for the next 12...

why do all the cool cases come out right before the phones about to be outdated... I'm sure we can expect the s4 to be announced early next month.. I wouldn't spend 70 for a case for a phone ill have another 2 months, but I would for one ill have for the next 12...

Not planning to get rid of my GS3...Some people have a 2 year plan.
Nokia 3650>Nokia 3660>Nokia 6630>SE W800>SE W810>SE K790>Nokia N95-1>Nokia N95-3>Nokia N95-4 8gb>iPhone 3G>iPhone 3GS>iPhone 4>GS Capitvate>Galaxy S2 i9100>Note N7000 32gb> Galaxy S 3 i747M 32gb
Love the look of that thing. I will definitely look into getting it if there is a sale.
And the GS3 will not go out of date anytime soon. Development will continue for quit some time with how large of a user-base it has

I love the mentality that if a new phone comes out the previous version is immediately outdated. I'm pretty sure I'll have my s3 for at least another year and a half if not longer, not everybody jumps on the "brand new phone" bandwagon.
I like this version a lot better than the first release but I'm still holding out to see what lifeproof's s3 case looks like.
That is way too expensive, plenty of good cases for less than $20. CNET just did a review on about 20 or so good cheap cases for the S3.

These people must be on crack if they think I'm paying $70 for a case. Yet most consumers need to learn how not to be zombie/robot ready and willing to pay $70 for some recycled aluminum and plastic! Yeah I know some R&D on a computer that took too long as to make sure the designers and "engineers" get payed by the hour.

Yea... i'm REALLY tempted to order one.... but even with the 10% off coupon code for signing up for their newsletter, it's still $70 with FedEx Ground shipping (which happens to be $12). I don't see how shipping can remotely cost that much. Or at least offer USPS shipping or something for in the US....
