Stuck on H-Boot - Desire General

Hey guys,
Completely stuck here. I have a rooted Desire running CM7. I do not however have S-off or custom Hboot. What I want is to go S-off, flash Oxygen H-boot and run Oxygen. However, nothing seems to be working.
As Revolutionary doesn't support my current H-boot, I thougt I would first update my Hboot. I got both the CM hboot and Oxygen Hboot, neither worked. I put the PB99img.zip one by one on the root of my SD-card, booted into H-boot and both times it did find the PB99img.zip, said it was "checking" it and then did nothing.
What the hell am I doing wrong here? Some tech specs;
Hboot: 0.089.0001
Radio: 5.11.05.27
Recovery: Clockworkmod

To change hboot, you need to be S-OFF. Revolutionary does not support your hboot, that's right. So you have to use AlphaRev:
http://alpharev.nl

I can't believe i'm actually thát stupid. Downloading now, will burn the iso to a dvd and boot from it.
Cheers mate, quitte helpful!

[Q] Revolutionary on STOCK HBOOT

Hi
I want to S-OFF my desire, and just came across the revolutionary tool.
In their documantation file, they say they tested it only on HBOOT 0.93, and 1.02.
I didn't S-off my desire yet so I have STOCK HBOOT (0.90).
has anyone tried to use the revolutionary tool with this HBOOT ?
or if not, is there any SAFE way to change HBOOT (like 0.93) without S-OFF your device?
Alpharev.nl
1)if u try revolutionary, it will say you that ur hboot is not supported of course
2)if you don't have the 0.93 mean u are not up to date..the latest htc stock rom have 0.93 (ar least the unbranded one)
3)0.90? i think is 0.80? is it? it is an older hboot
4)u cant charge hboot if u have the stock one..the stock one is S-ON, mean u cant change it in no way..after s-off, u can change it
5)alpharev.nl could work
I meant to write HBOOT 0.92.0001 .. somehow the numer had mixed up.... that was weird..
anyway, I have an HBOOT 0.92.0001 with a PVT3 (yea, the device is preaty old, bought it about a year ago..)
too bad.. I thought I could do it more easily (and safe) and not go for the IMAGE way.. but if there is no choise, that what I'll do.
anyway, after I'll S-OFF by alpharev's IMAGE, how can I change the HBOOT? just flash it from recovery, or another way should be done?
many thanks for your help!
alhparev will replace ur actual hboot with the 0.93 "hacked hboot" with S-OFF flag (the same is for revolutionary)
after that u can change it (if u need a different partitions table to get more space on the data partition for example) through fastboot command, booting ur phone in fastboot mode
both alpharev and revolutionary do the same, give u s-off replacing ur actual hboot..revolutionary is an evolution of alpharev but only support 0.93.x and 1.02.x
btw to use alpharev first u have to root it with unrevoked
changing the hboot is only to get s-off and have the ability to use different partitions table..no other advantages in it
And of course in the rare event that revolutionary does not work on the old hboot, the old hboot can be upgraded with the froyo ruu

Hboot 0.83 & S-ON & No Recovery and No Booting OS

Hi,
I looked at similar threads but couldn't solve my problem, which is;
I was using custom rom with data2ext tools without any problems. I just realized that although my RomManager's Clockworkmod recovery version was 5.0.2.0, i see 2.5.0.7 on the recovery screen. Then i found that my desire went to S-ON back.
While i was trying to make S-OFF, i used AlphaRev, first step was ok, then it restarted the phone, saying "waiting for bootloader". Even after the Hboot screen comes up, it didn't get further. I tried another tools, such as Revolutionary, but it says "Hboot 0.83 is not supported". I can not use fastboot tool also since i am S-ON. When i try to flash anything (recovery.img, boot.img etc.) it gives the famous "...malformed.." error.
So now i can only enter HBoot and Fastboot screen. When i enter recovery, it freezes on HTC Logo on the white screen. When i restart the phone normally, it again freezes on the same screen.
Thanks in advance.
Do you have a Desire GSM? If yes, flash 2.3.3 RUU and then use Revolutionary.
Swiftkeyed from ICS with Transparent XDA App
Yes, i have Desire GSM. Now i am downloading the RUU exe. I hope the correct one
Ok. After a bricked sd card, i made a new gold card Flashed a WWE RUU via PB99. Then root, s-off. Now i am able to install anything
Thanx again

Returning to Stock Help Needed

Hi All,
Returning missus Desire back to stock and have searched and found many guides..
following through, I'm basically installing the following RUU from .EXE file:
RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_122704.exe
The phone was previously on Orange and I understand there is no RUU for this.
Upon installing this EXE...it gets to the area about checking the phone and intialising and all I get everytime is an Error 170 USB Connection Error. It can't seem to see the phone.
I am on XP and have tried the phone booted in to its current ROM (ICS) and also under FASTBOOT USB but neither makes any difference...
Any ideas?
Many thanks...
Rich
You're missing proper drivers on your PC. Try to download and install htc sync or driver package from htc dev site and then to reconnect phone.

Bravo PVT1 Ship S-Off
HBOOT 6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
Touch Panel - SYNT0101

That's not recovery, that's bootloader. Below that you have meny loking smth like this:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
ERASE STORAGE...
You can use volume up and down buttons to navigate, highlight recovery and then press power to enter recovery.
If you wanna install stock, reboot your phone and let RUU running. My recomendation is to use 2.3 RUU since it's made for all versions of desire no matter of carrier. You can find it on htc dev site.

Well I have put back the stock HBOOT....
installed a RUU which now just gives me a white HTC screen and goes no further....
I downloaded the 2.3.3 correct RUU but it won't see my device and HTC sync won't install the drivers.
Any ideas folks?
Rich
Oh my BOOTLOADER now says this:
ALPHAREV
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT 6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
Radio 4.05.00.11
And also...within Device Manager my phone is being picked up as Android Bootloader Interface
Ok, this is the trick, your hboot has write protection and ruu can't overwrite radio. From your bootloader I can see you have old radio which won't work with 2.3 RUU. Of course RUU should overwrite the radio during install but it's not posible because of protected hboot...
You have to download downgrade hboot from alpharev site, flash it and you will have unlocked hboot. After that run RUU from PC and it will overwrite both radio and hboot.
But, you will lose s-off and root, so revolutionary again :-D
And don't worry about what's written in device manager, it's normal.

Thanks Nloo for taking an interest...
|I have already flashed Bravo Stock off the Alpharev site .... you can see in my post a change in the HBOOT information from Revolutionary to ALPHArev.....
If I try using the RUU it just says it can't find the Phone again.....USB error 170....
Any more help would be appreciated please...bricked phone!!

You actually don't want to read carefully, not stock bravo but DOWNGRADE that's the right one. After flashing you'll have this on top in bootloader:
ALPHAREV UNLOCK
not just alpharev.
Then after flashing reboot to bootloader not fastboot and then run RUU.
If RUU won't work you can try with rom.zip on sd card but that's a different story.

[Q] Deeply confused by unbrick attempt - can anyone help ?

Hi All,
Apologies in advance... I'm a noob.
Well for a long time I was a happy camper running the excellent Marange MIUI ROMs on my HTC desire (which had been replaced by a PVT4 motherboard version). This was S-OFF and running HBOOT 0.93... but then one day a couple of months ago I got into a boot loop where all I got was the MIUI boot logo... not really a loop more just stuck at the logo.
So I tried several clueless attempts to reimage using the TeamWin TWRP boot loader... but nothing I did worked. So after several failed RUU attempts and random PB99IMG boots and one successful run of:
RUU_Bravo_Telstra_WWE_1.15.841.14_R4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_123851
I had what I imagined was a stock phone running an ancient Telstra release (it is a Telstra branded phone - the other world wide English RUUs refused to recognise the phone - 130 error).
I tried re-flashing the baseband radio, ClockworkMod v2.5.0.7 Recovery and MIUI... and wound up back to square one stuck in the MIUI logo and the RUU I used to get back to stock is now refusing to do anything) and this time I noticed my phone reports:
BRAVO UNKNOWN SHIP S-ON
HBOOT 0.75.0000
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYMT0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23
Mar 5 2010, 21:12:15
So somehow my PVT4 S-OFF 0.93 changed to the above. Which I don't understand... I thought that only a Goldcard could do something like that. None of the recovery tools seem to want to deal with HBOOT 0.75 and the fact that I'm S-ON would appear to be a pain.
The other thing that really confuses me is that how come if the phone is S-ON it lets me wipe everything and install the latest Marange MIUI ROMs ? Surely if it's S-ON then these would have to be signed (maybe they are for all I know).
Finally, if I use adb when the phone is stuck in it's MIUI boot logo I'm amazed I can get a root shell.
Anyone got any advice on how my phone got into such a mess, how to fix HBOOT and get a decent ROM running again ?
Any help hugely appreciated. The more detail the better.
Many AtDhVaAnNkCsE
Cheers,
Doug

How where you s-off, with hboot 0.93? Alpharev hboots have 6.93 etc.
Anyways, did you try the 2.3 RUU? Check my sig.
You can flash roms with s-on, but you can't change recovery.

To be honest I couldn't quite remember the state of my HBOOT I just new that it had been newer than 0.75, possibly 0.80, and that I had S-OFF and PVT4.
Your suggestion worked perfectly! I ran the RUU without issue to upgrade to 2.3 which gave me a new 1.x HBOOT and then I ran revolutionary and was then able to install MIUI. Smooth as...
Thank you so much!
I find the howto guides out there have lots of how but not too much why. I like detail on why things work or don't. Like why did that RUU work when so many others I tried didn't... did HTC make RUU 2.3 more forgiving in it's identification of supported phones ?
Anyway, once again many thanks for your kind help.
Cheers,
Doug

[Q] How to know if the new HBOOT is installed

Hi,
I'm S-OFF on my HTC Desire.
I've tried to install the Bravo Stock HBOOT from the alpharev website, i've follow the instructions :
You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC. It is however still necessary to either restore your nandroid, or reflash your ROM after doing this. The partition LAYOUT has changed, the actual data still needs to be 'moved'.
But nothing say/show me if the installation is good.
I've looked throught this forum and google without found an answer.
So my question is, how to know if i'm running this new hboot ?
Thanks a lot for your answer.
turn off ur phone then hold volume down + power and it will say at the top in pink. stock hboot will say Alpharev (in pink)
Sent from my HTC Desire
Thanks for your quick answer.
On the screen i've
---- Alpharev ----
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.93.0001
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17, 17:52:18
I was thinking that the pink Alpharev at the top of the screen has appeared then i turn my phone on S-OFF and not when i tried to flash HBOOT ...
yh ur stock hboot. if u flash new hboot, like lets say CM7r2, it will say in bootloader "Alpharev CM7r2" in pink
Sent from my HTC Desire
Okay thanks for your explaination !
