Heard some concerns about the fit of skins such as the 'barely there'. Want to order one soon and was wondering what opinions are now that some time has passed.
I want a skin to protect the back from scratching or chipping from small falls, not enough to protect it from a hammer! Don't want to make the phone too bulky and will be using an Xoskin on the front.
Lots of TPU skins out there already. Quick and dirty way to see what's available is to do a search on Amazon. Diztronic seems to be an early favorite.
Search for diztronic on amazon UK comes up with:
Minisuit
Is that what you meant?
i got the s-curve one from ebay for 3 bucks (same as the minisuit one, sometimes goes under the name of qubits) and it's pretty slim. i also ordered the nilikin one to see if it's any thinner or snugger, because i didn't think the s-curve one was snug enough. i don't like the diztronic one because it has some extra cutouts (ie for the power button) which means a little less protection

These are the ones he is referring to. I am thinking about picking one up myself. Let me know if you end up doing it; i'm curious to see how they are.
I just get this

Looks decent but I prefer when the top and bottom of the phone are protected as well. I mean if you are gonna bulk it up why not cover the whole thing? Doesn't that thing slip off fairly easily?

This looks pretty similar to something that I believe Otterbox will end up looking like. Personally, I think the flap over the camera is laughable but if you want true protection it comes with a price.
Picked one of these up. LOL! Why? I work in a very dirty environment that would subject my phone to a lot of fine particulates and water. Plus a 2-year old that loves to play with phones.
It is next to impossible for me to get the kickstand out with this case. I need long fingernails to reach the stand with this one.
Anyone else have one of these?
I have this case and i think it's great that you can add the extra protection when it's needed, and then just remove it when you don't.
Can the flap for the camera be permanently removed?

You could have to rip the rubber off the pivot piece for the camera cover. Then you could make it removable. It's the only option I know of.

that hole next to the camera, yea the bump on the flap is placed there to hold it back.
i had this case since i bought my TB but i got it from Best Buy n it was called Platinum. its a really good case. i would really recommend this
same I got the platinum series TB case from best buy. 34.99
its sleaker then the one posted though and looks better IMO.
The holes in the back for the cam and LED are 2 different accurate cut outs instead of one. looks better but it dies not have the flap/cover
Its the same case. The convert just has two extra layers and isn't rebranded.
The cheap eBay Bumper case I posted about on another board arrived today and it looks quite good until you pick it up and notice how thin and light it is which kind of goes hand in hand with it's massively small £3 price. It does the job fine on a S2 with the stock battery though but with extended battery the lip surrounding the front bezel is less pronounced.
It is not great with the Zenis dock either as it doesn't sit flush whereas the Zenis one does. I was expecting it to fit fine but the bottom is not sitting nicely like the Walnutt bumper does.
So far I think the Walnutt case looks the best and also feels like it's worth some ££ too. I especially like the lip bearing the Walnutt brand name on the back, it kind of completes an otherwise baron backside, something that the SGP NeoHybrid EX bumper lacks although I'm sure the SGP feels every bit as good and expensive as the Walnutt ones.
Considering the Walnutt bumper is thicker than the cheap eBay one I was surprised it was exactly the same thickness when put on the phone, I put it on my dad's S2 with stock battery to compare in the pics below.

Wow 10 pounds for shipping to Spain! What a RIP OFF. I'll write the seller and see what he says. I doubt though that he'll change the price. I've had books and computer parts delivered for less!

Used the Aegis on the Sprint Galaxy S-II and it was great. Fit, protection, button worked smoothly without forcing. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the styling. I prefer the more asymmetrical, slightly industrial look. Based on the pics, looks like they went even further with those styling ques for the S-III, but I'm sure the build and protection are going to still be top notch. If you can put up with the 'design by committee' impression the new Aegis shouts, I'm sure you won't have any regrets with it's quality and performance. Don't know much about the Body Glove,... but at least it looks symmetrical, and for me, that's at least a start. Spend some time on YouTube, there are a lot of un-boxings and reviews for many of the S-III cases out there. Good Luck. Any reason the Otterbox Commuter didn't make your short list?
Just didn't like the look of it really. Off had body glove cases in the past, but they've been hard shell cases. I checked in you tube and i just can't tell if the body glove is really silicone like and attracts dust and lint or if it's more rigid? I'll probably end up getting the aegis. I like the sleek profile of it and the design is pretty nifty. Thanks for the info!

I currently have the Trident Aegis case on my Galaxy S3. This is my second trident case and love the case, I like the styling of it and I also like all the options on colors. I do think the trident for the price offers a better protective case than the others at similiar prices. The only issue I would state is the outer layer (hard cover), is a tad bit too tight and feels like it might snap trying to get it on (although its not nearly as bad as trying to remove a otter box defender) which was not a issue with my GS2 trident case, other than that, the buttons function perfectly, it looks good (to me at least) and its protected. Good Luck.
Suggestions for a good thin, white, matte finish case that ships to Canada?
I am using the original "Designed for Samsung" case, made by Samsung itself. It's slim and has a nice rubbery and matte outside. Here are some pictures with it:

The code of the case is SAMNCCWH. If you search for that you will surely find it. Good luck
wasn't it determined that this case wasn't made by Samsung actually?
still looks nice, im looking at getting the black version, but not covering the top and bottom is making me hesitant.

Sorry, I didn't get that. Who exactly determined that?
I suggest that this silicone case, ultra-thin and transparent, do not feel the weight of. Link

Skip to post #61 for conversation about authenticity.
It seems to be made by Kondor Limited, who is an OEM manufacturer contracted by Samsung.
The case may not be official, but people still like it and say it fits well. Not bad at all.
I use this one on my white Nexus. It's a little transparent.

Just bought one of these for £2.99, it arrived in 2 days, and I got to say, it is beautiful. Feels so nice to use on my OPO. The picture really doesn't do it justice. I actually prefer it to the original sandstone touch.

I have bought from them for all my phones that they do the cases for. It feels almost like silk.

Stumbled upon a review on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q43HYVeiiPo
and on amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MPIC9KO/ref=cm_sw_su_dp
Be careful with the generic back cover cases..
I ordered 2 cases similar to these, a red one and white one. The white one fits poorly so i sent it back. The red one fits nicely but after a week i took my phone out of the case and saw that it left red paint on the back of my sandstone black cover..GRRRR. So be warned about these cheap generic cases. I put tape on the inside of the case to prevent any more paint coming off onto my phone. This is my first 5.5" phone and i fumble it alot but only dropped it twice but these case will not prevent your phone from being chipped, as expected since it's not a full cover. I'm waiting for my new case which is a full shock protection case.
Doesn't look any different then the xtremeguard case that I bought for way cheaper.
$3.99 plus $1.49 carbon fiber back vinyl = $5.48 free shipping
