Have you guys noticed your volume rockers and power key starting to sink? Because my buttons are almost evening out
Sent from my SGH-T989

Nope...
How hard do you press your buttons? LolLol

Mine aren't sinking but they feel loose...

My power button just started feeling a bit spongy this week and it no longer has the defined click feeling like the volume rocker does
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA App
I don't have that clicky feeling like I did outside from the box
Sent from my SGH-T989
mine seems fine so far, this phone is fairly easy to take apart anyway..so fixing that will be easy for me
lol. only when i put it in the bath tub. I had to.
My power button seems to be back to normal today. I think something for lodged in it or something.

The volume rockers feel flimsy compared to the amaze but they are still functional so I can't complain

Does anyone else's power button feel a little different than the volume rocker? It's perfectly responsive, but it feels a little less "clicky" than the volume rocker. It seems to be a little more recessed. It's not a problem, I'm just wondering if everyone else's feels this way.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yeah, mines the same way. That's probably how it was designed. The power button is most likely recessed to keep from waking the screen by accident - in pockets, ect.
Cool. Thanks a lot for the response. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have some type of latent defect that could cause problems down the road, especially with such an annoying warranty process.

Yes I feel the same too. Hope it last long though =\

Yeh, was wondering the same here. It works fine, just feels a little squishy and not as tactile as the volume rocker.
Hey guys so I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but my volume buttons are a bit loose and they rattle if I shake the phone. I tried tightening the screws on the back but it didn't do much. Is there any trick to make then fit better or just stop raddling?
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda premium
Stop thinking about them is the best option. Unless they fall off or get compacted I wouldn't worry about them.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
yea... tightening the screws on the back of the phone would probably do little more than run the risk of stripping the threads or something. Generally, there isn't anything holding these types of buttons in place aside from the overall design of the phone being done to have them nicely seated in place. Chances of anything happening just because of wiggling buttons are slim, IMHO.
Buy an iPhone.
Haha sorry I had too

I had the same problem, you can actually pop out the volume button pretty easily by using your nail and pulling. All that's holding it in is a rubber piece under the volume button. Once I had it out I tried to realign the rubber piece on the volume rocker and popped it back into the phone. Now it no longer rattles.

I tried to do this... one question... what kind of nails do you have?!
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda premium
Lol short ones. Try using a credit card. You can't break it because its just rubber holding it in.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
This should be covered under warranty, have you contacted the reseller.
No I haven't. What do you think ATT would do?

I have heard if people having a loose power button, but nothing of a loose and rattling volume one. I can hear it move whenever I move the phone from a flat surface or whenever I tap on the top of the screen. Should I get a replacement? On an of topic thing I just removed my screen peotector and live the feel without it do I really need it as long as im careful? I have the ballistic case on with a naked screen. Thanks!

As a rule, if there's a hardware defect (not of your doing), use the warranty exchange. Your under contract for this device. It should work. Just my opinion.
Well I just replaced the device yesterday cause my camera had a spot under the lense lol. I think I just have bad luck with phone haha.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Keep taking it back until its perfect, that's my advice.
Well, thats the idea.

By the volume buttons the bezel creaks, and the power button is creaky and cheap.
It's driving me INSANE.
I don't even think I can get an exchange because I'm rooted and I have Jedi flashed...
Anyone else going crazy from these little issues, or found a fix?
OCD much?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Yes, because now when I discovered the creaks, I keep checking to see if they went away...lol.
Same small problem here too. Just slap a case that covers the volume and power button. It helps with the creaks. Nothing is perfect. U might get one that buttons are fine but there will be something else that will get to u. If buttons work and are not about to fall off, enjoy the phone.

Eh, I'm a folio case user. I have yet to find a folio that covers them up. Any suggestions?
seidio active case. First case I got the silicone was a bit loose. But exchange case was perfect. It covers the volume and power button. Gives a nice click to it cause case is a bit raised. It it looks awesome too. Otterbox case also covers the buttons but its too thick.

How long have you had this creaking problem. I just got my note 2 2 days ago although I put a case on it while I was in the at&t store I have taken it off to check after reading this post
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
Eh I've had creaking since 2 days after buying it. It went straight in a case too.

Same here exactly to the day....bought it a week ago and a day later... creaking...I have the flip casing

I haven't noticed any creaking on my Note II since I've gotten it -- mind you it has only been a few days, but I've been using it a fair amount and I'm pretty good at noticing these things (curse you, OCD!)
Mine creaks too. Drives me nuts also! I shut it up temporarily by using a bit of scotch tape inside the panel but that quit working. The samsung flip case panel has eliminated the creaking fwiw but it would be nice to have the original flat panel shut up too.

I dont have a creak. But I have light leak coming from the left side of the home button. If it's not one thing it's another.

Oh, that would drive me nuts! little bit of creaking in the back cover but I have to mess with it to hear it so I am not going to complain too much :silly:
My power button is sometimes creaky. Sometimes it doesn't seem to click. Sometimes it seems to be stuck pressed in.
Changes every day.

I must have a lemon, my device has zero creaks.
No creaks for me. I'm on my second device.

Is this normal? I just picked up a white Note 2 on AT&T the other day and noticed the volume rocker is loose and rattles a little bit if the phone is shaken. Is this normal? Apparently others have noticed this too, but not enough for me to pass it off as normal? If your volume rocker is loose, does it slightly rattle? I think I am just being way too OCD haha.
As far as I know yes.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda app-developers app
Mine doesn't but I probably sat on the phone or something so I fixed it
If it did though, unless I felt it was going to fall out it was so loose, I wouldn't worry about it
