So I know we don't technically have custom kernels for EF02 yet but how did Marcusant get the Droid eye boot animation in Anonymous Rom i3.... I've looked in the bootanimation.zip and there's only 1 PNG file in there (a solid black image).... I'm guessing the bootanimation is in a qmg file and if so how did he edit that type of file....
I'm not the only one pulling my hair out about this and would like anyone's insight on this matter.... Thanks In Advance =D
the boot animation is prob specific to the rom and can't be changed easily...and yes i am aware of the operation to change a boot animation!
I wish he was still here to tell me his magic spell for customizing it cause this is hurting my head lol..... do you think its in the qmg file and how would I unpack the qmg?
not a clue on how to unpack it and why isn't he here anymore?

I don't want this thread closed but he didn't ask permission to modify someones software.....
Its because its no just a bootanimation.zip file, its the stock one, just rom another phone and it already supports stock ones so it was just a mater of switching out stock animations and not a custom one.

???so the Droid eye animation is stock to another phone and that's all he did.....
Yup its stock to the droid charge so its a port.

This thread is dedicated for boot animation on Lulz/Tegrak kernel and should be compatible with any other custom kernels that support /system/media/sanim.zip
Please click on the file attachments below to download. I have also attached sample pictures.
Note:All the animated work are done by other developers, I just mod them and make sure they will work on your Lulz/Tegrak Kernel SGS 2

Do they work with stock roms? If not, how to adapt them? I really like the minimal blue one

The update files were meant for Lulz/Tegrak kernel so those files wouldn't work with stock rom. I also have yet to try those script on CWM as well.
The easiest path right now is to install the Lulz/Tegrak kernel via odin from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118918
Question, are you familiar with ADB? Odin? Rooting? Is your SGS2 still stock?
p.s i like the minimal blue one also
Coool! cheers!
Your boot animation package is also available with any other custom kernels that support /system/media/sanim.zip

You can also download the file unzip it copy the sanim.zip and overwrite the sanim, zip on your phone /system/media
You can use either ADB or root explorer to do this.

The boot animation itself actually will work with most phone but these has been packaged to work with sanim.zip boot animation.
You can check your /system/media see if you have boot animation.zip or sanim.zip and just extract my sanim.zip to replace the file.

First and foremost: These are for kernels with boot animation support only!!!
That being said...
Here's some of my favorite boot animations that I decided to port over. I didn't create the originals so make sure you thank the creators of the originals. All I did was resize, reformat & redo the desc scripts. I also shortened them because the E4GT boots up fast. I did work pretty hard converting, resizing & re-packing all of these, so a "Thanks" in my direction wouldn't hurt my feelings. Boot animations are 480 X 800 (previews are smaller).
I will be porting over many boot animations & posting them in this thread pretty regularly. If you have any requests, let me know. Also, if the boot animation doesn't need to be tweaked by me ...then it's not going to be posted here by me (unless requested by the builder of the boot animation). I don't want any credit for something that I didn't put any work into. This thread is for boot animations that we wish we had, but weren't compatible with the E4GT.
Install instructions
Root Explorer Method
- Download bootanimation.zip and put on root of your SD card
- Open Root Explorer & navigate to "system/media"
- Select "Mount R/W", then delete bootanimation.zip
- Navigate back to "sdcard", then move bootanimation.zip to system/media
- If the above didn't work, try renaming it "sanim"
Recovery Install (Flashable zips)
- Download signed zip and place on root of your SD card
- Boot into recovery & wipe cahe/dalvik
- Flash boot animation zip, then reboot
Sound Files (if any...)
- Put "PowerOn.wav" & "1_Power_on.ogg" on root of SD card
- Open Root Explorer and navigate to sdcard
- Move "PowerOn.wav" & "1_Power_on.ogg" to system/etc

I have a similar issue except mine change to just a glowing blue android, word not avatar. Tried moving both mass effect and 3d android. Funny thing is I can use boot manager from market and it works just fine. Perplexed.

You have to be running a kernel that's bootanimation compatible. If you don't have a file in system/media named "sanim.zip", then your kernel isn't bootanimation compatible. You can flash mazook98's flashable bootanimation (stock version) first and it will prep system/media for you. After that, you should be able to swap out bootanimation.zip as you please.

Does anyone know where the .ogg file for the boot sound is located? Or whatever format it may be.

I posted links to the original bootanimations in the OP. If they originally had sound, that's where you'll find the files.

how did we get the scroll able status bar widgets..? i rememeber that they were ported (which is why we didnt have the 4g button at first cuz the phone it was ported from doesnt have 4g) but im trying to figure out what phone they are originally from it may help me with something...
I believe the scrollable status toggles were part of the TeamSbrissenMod. I think he's on the droid charge now.

thank you both very much
and trav can u help me out with one more thing that i think u should know the answer to..
ive started to try to make my own themes but im having one tiny problem, the boot ani
first i made a theme using ur el30 template which booted up saying "nashdogg" and i had no idea how to take it off
and now i made a theme using ur fc09 cut and paste rom but the boot ani always says "cut & paste" and i cant take it off
im not tooo great with all this stuff so the best i tried was applying a boot ani using uot kitchen which doesnt stick over ur boot animations so can u help me get rid of it or put a different boot ani please?
Hi All,
A while back I put a CRT mod that I downloaded from SOMEWHERE on this forum on my phone...I remember there was also a file to remove it if you did not want it, I thought I downloaded both to my system but cant find either of them....Anyway I am sick of this CRT mod flipping my screen upside down and inside out so I want to remove it, but I have used the search feature and cant seem to find it! Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
Mike
Check Caulkin's rom threads in dev section. I think i rememner something about that in the mods in his OPs
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I believe if you have spart parts (market) set the window animation to fast and transition animations to fast as well, disables the CRT on/off mod
Thanks Member, After you posted your responce I did remember the CRT Mod was a file I found inside someone's rom post...I could not find it exactly BUT I did find another mod file "Calkulin's_Enable_Rotation_Animation_for_E4GT_v* zip" inside of Calkulins Rom post that said it disables the CRT Mod so I installed it and that seemed to do the trick!
Thanks Agian,
Mike
