I noticed that whenever I launch a Gameloft game, it automatically turns on my wifi even though I'm not choosing to play multiplayer.
I don't know why this is happening. It's been happening with Rainbow Six, NOVA 2, and Backstab.
My phone is the r800x, rooted on stock and I've done nothing fancy except removed bloat.

There's an option in Location & Security to turn it off.

I have the r800x and all I have turned on is the GPS one.
Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk
Sorry, I think that might be the wrong option.
You could try turning it on, going back to save it then turn it off again. When my games launcher didn't work when sliding out the gamepad, even though the option was turned on, that's what I did then it then it worked.

Download no lock from the market.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
It have the settings for that.
No need for 3rd Party apps.
Go to Menu-Settings-Security-Lock Screen-Select none.
Job done!

I'm pretty sure it's there so when you accidentally turn it on in your pocket, you don't go calling random people and burning thru the battery. Just sayin

thank you jesus
Why would you use 3rd party app to disable a freaking lock screen. I wish it was simple as wm 6.5 registry edit that *****.
I was playing around with ES Task Manager and under Power Optimizer there is a setting to turn off 3G/2G (see pic). Does anyone have an explanation for what that is? Could having it enabled negatively impact battery life?

Is it a default toggle for the program? It may not do anything cuz the 5110 isnt cellular data capable.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I'm well aware that 5110 is not cellular capable. You raise a good point though that it may just be a default toggle. Whenever I disable it comes right back on so it probably doesn't do anything. Just thought I would ask to see if anyone had seen mention of it anywhere else.

The icon on mine used to be white when either I didn't have enough storage (And got the notification) or background data wasn't enabled. Also it occasionally happens. When it's white you also don't receive push notifications.
I think white means it is connected to the server but there is currently no bandwidth activity, meaning no uploads and downloads running at the moment. On the other hand, blue means either an upload or a download is running.
Thnx all. I managed to fix it. I reflashed and upgraded to 3.0 and works like a charm.

means ur phone is 69ing with another one. LOL ...
nah, it means that ur NFC is in sharing mode. the normal NFC icon is read only mode.
There's no switch to turnit off. Even a the build prop edit wouldnt remove it. I was gonna try to remove the icons from the systemui.

Seriously, you dont have a switch for NFC in settings? It's under share and connect in settings if I recall correctly. You might want to look there as I think you are overcomplicating this simply because you haven't found where the option to turn it off is. I would think that you'd be more focused on how to turn it off as that is much simpler than actually removing the whole icon
Anyone has that issue? How to solve it?
Tnx.
