I Just bought my galaxy y for 3 months and 1 day since last April 10 is the monthsary of my galaxy y . and i bought the phone last year (December 10,2011) but the stock firmware of my galaxy y is Android 2.3.6 and my Build Version is: GINGERBREAD.DXKK4 and my internal memory is 179 MB . But since i upgraded my phone via FOTA and the Build Version was changed into "GINGERBREAD.DXLA1" but after i performed a factory reset the internal memory of my phone is only about 165 MB . I Already emailed Samsung for this one and they answered this "The changes made to the latest software version is to improve the phone performance. The user memory or memory for storage was reduced a little to improve the capability of the processor. The actual memory of the hardware is still there, they just changed the partitioning of the memory since it is sharing with other memory componenets of the phone.
If you wish to go back to the previous version of your software, you may bring your phone to the service center. Please visit > Support > Service Locations to check on the nearest authorized service center from your location. Please select the correct product and product subtype then select the city. If no service center on the selected city, please choose other close city. " But i really want to go back to stock firmware "GINGERBREAD.DXKK4" without bringing my phone to service center since my phone is still under warranty and im scared if i will pay for the fee . Please Guys here help me . Just give the instructions since i already know how to use "Odin" and flash Since i recently unbricked my classmate's galaxy y also on Android 2.3.5 . PLease help , Thanks
why aren't you downgrading it using Odin?
But i don't know how to downgrade

Do I still need to use the "totoro_0623.pit" ? . Do i need to check "Re-Partition" since im just using the Re-Parttition for bricked phones

But I Need The DXKK4 Stock ROM
But I need the DXKK4 Stock ROM , Any link to download the DXKK4 Stock ROM . Samsung Kies is telling me again to upgrade my firmware again (DXLC1)but the CSC is still from DXLA1 >.< i will not upgrade my device anymore . Now i realized that upgrading would eat my internal memory ....
I Need some answers for this :
Q:How will i downgrade/Flash my phone . It it just like upgrading ?
Q: Do i still need to load the "totoro_0623.pit" file ?
Q: Do i need to check the "Re-Partition" ?
Q:What can happen if flashing got failed / incomplete ? (Because everytime i use Odin im turning off my internet and Antivirus & Firewall as well .

Answer 1: to downgrade, just simply flash a earlier version of the firmware. Same as upgrading
Answer 2: you do not need that
Answer 3: do not tick "re-partition"
Answer 3: Make sure that doesn't happen.
here is what you need:

bro, as long as your phone is under warranty, you don't have to pay for anything; given that it was a factory defect. If you find it a hassle to go to the nearest service center, think of this, you are the one needing help so in order for them to fix that you have to do your part and bring that to the service center except of course if you have a valid reason like force majeure.
But the DXKK4 Stock ROM is not there

Why do you need DXKK4 so badly? When in fact you can try other firmwares. If you're worrying about warranty, you shouldn't be because flashing stock firmware doesn't increase your bin count; it's just like you've updated through kies
But..
But Samsung says to me the actual hardware of my old firmware is still there . I Think if i flash another firmware , The firmware will eat my internal memory again . Samsung Kies on my computer is telling me to update again to "GINGERBREAD.DXLC1" but the CSC of the firmware is still from my current firmware as of today "GINGERBREAD.DXLA1" . The difference is just the PDA and the PHONE that is LC1 from my LA1 firmware

the real question is..
have your queries been solved? are you satisfied with the current firmware you are on??
not so
Im not so satisfied with the firmware since the firmware doesn't do any changes . the latitude and google places icons are just changed but it's still in the same version when i was still in DXKK4 stock rom . My old android market has changed to the a newer one but not the PLAY Store that rolls out now on almost all android phones ( including my phone ) . Anyways thanks for your help guys . i'll just research here for earlier stock roms . or i'll just bring my phone to the Samsung Service center in SM Mall of Asia . You deserve a "Thanks" button guys
I don't get it...i have updated my firmware many times but it never changed my partition.

felt bad hearing that bro..
but still, best regards to you and your phone
You don't need to bother going to MOA bud. Look around the SGY section for dorky's firmware thread, he's got most of the firmware from last year to date.
One more thing, Google Play isn't included on updates simply because you're phone can download it automatically when it is connected to the Internet.

e3002
this device has 6.0.1/mpn24.104.25/25:user/release-keys.
what should i do
should I use another xda? if so can u send me the download link
thank you
EXACTLY as HERE!
You have saved Me typing pretty much word for word what was in my thoughts.
Can I also ask;
is it necessary for us to install a different security patch ? Does this change the user keys?
will it be more straight forward to go the Rooting method as these "brand new" but obviously already tampered with Chinese phones running westernized Marshmallow have no warranty from Motorola anyway.
I have no rooting experience but quite a few years with PC's.
try to reflash the stock rom
no answers ?
Apparently Not....
Hi
Please can someone provide me with a step by step guide to update my Galaxy Tab 2 current version 4.2.2 to a more recent version.
I have decided to hand my tab 2 to my daughter but the main app I want for her from the playstore needs at least version 4.4. I have already purchased the app on my phone without realising it wouldn't work on the tab andit cost £20 so I need to update my tab so it works on there.
I have spent hours on the internet and on the tab trying to sort this out by following current guides however all the guides I come across either have dead links for the downloads or they are not clear enough for my skill level to follow.
So far I have managed to root the tab so it now shows the app 'supersu' and I have also got 'ROM Manager'
Please please please can someone provide me with a step by step guide to get a later version and also live links to gert the downloads from.
Thank you
Hi people,
i have spent the last few days trying to find a working firmware upgrade for my old galaxy tab 7.0 (sm-t210) over and above android 4.42
i have routed/used odin on several occasions to fix and resolve firmware issues on a few samsung tablets. i have an old tab 7 and would like to 'take the risk' and route it, and look to upgrade to higher than the official threshold of 4.4.2
Would any be able to provide possible links to decent download resources for android 5.0 or above for this old dinosaur of a tablet please ? i do sincerely apologise if this is a repeating subject here on XDA. i am going around in circles, i have 3 different versions of odin to run the process, have freshly installed the 4.4.2 ready to try updating to higher.... helppppp !!!
thanks,
Arlo.
