thanks, if the rom like you please take me a thanks
You should probably point out that this is just a ROM that you've baked from the MoDaCo kitchen as your starting point then chucked in a *VERY* few mods.
How do I know? As well as matching MD5s for most of the content, you have a /system/app/GoogleQuick* directory, an error I made in Ir6.

yes, the rom is based on the MoDaCo IR5 but not all changes are his, I thanked all those who have made the mod and I have implemented in ROM, including MoDaCo!
then go to Rom I paid almost 14 euros
however, if you bother the next rom I'm cooking from scratch and then the public with all the various mods that I find in forums

Seems a bit like stealing if you used a Rom that you only payed to have a copy for your phone. Yet your distributing it.

I don't really see the point in just starting with one ROM, lumping in all the mods you can find other people have made then slapping your name on it, that's all... but each to their own.

I have already explained that I made the changes that I look better from Roma and other users, and I assembled a rom and I gave him a name, do not charge money for this, I do not receive compensation, and do not do it for profit , I only do it for passion.
I remember that Android is an open-source project, In computing, open source software whose authors indicate (more precisely the rights holders) allow, even encourage them free study and the changes are made by other independent programmers .
so I have not done anything wrong, but I just picked up the mods of different authors and I gathered in a rom!
Wow stop fighting over who made it and see who can make it even better. Nice job!!!!

I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC Vision (this is the version based on the T-Mobile G2 ROM, without HTC Sense)! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
Remember that if you use this ROM, you do so entirely at your own risk!!
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. A MCR release is designed to feel as far as possible like a stock ROM, with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, you must have a custom recovery image installed (Clockwork Mod).
THIS ROM SHOULD RUN ON BOTH THE G2 AND THE DESIRE Z!
Features (these are the features for the currently posted prebake, please check the changelog for any pending changes that are in the kitchen)
Based on the 1.22.531.8 T-Mobile G2 ROM
Pre-rooted with su and Superuser Permissions by ChainsDD
Insecure boot image (ro.secure=0)
Optimised with the MCR build process, which means that the ROM will fit on a G2 without needing to remove any content!
All components updated to the latest versions
ROM is de-odexed
Please note that this is a r1 release, many more changes will be added now via the kitchen and periodically updated prebakes (as per normal MCR builds!)
Changelog
Please see 2 posts below this one for the changes in each release.
Installation
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the online kitchen! In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.

Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
Future Updates - READ THIS!
By providing this ROM I am not implying in any way that future updates will follow. Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Please do not donate / sign up on the assumption that future releases will be available (I don't want you to be disappointed!).
And finally...
Details on how to donate should you wish to do so are in download topic at MoDaCo.
Enjoy!

Same phone but different partitioning, I believe ? I'm sure someone who knows a lot more than me will be able to comment better though.
Stock G2 does fit on Z, but the other way round doesn't.
What he said - different partitioning!

I'm sorry, but I am just surprised no one has mentioned or requested screenshots.
Can we get at least one? I mean some of us may not know what a Non-Sense UI looks like.
Also, will this ROM help extend battery life? I am assuming it will with less eye-candy correct?
Thank you.

Ok, so what does NO SENSE mean?
So, is that a no on the screenshots?
Re-Introduce Orange Glacier 2.0.0
The reason I created this ROM is NOT TO COMPETE with anyone else, it is mainly for myself. I wanted a light weight ROM that's STABLE and FAST but I also wanted to try something slightly different.
I WON'T BE Updating this ROM unless something is Seriously WRONG with it...
(I WON'T BE taking FEATURE REQUESTS and such, most can be added by yourself from various mods found in the Theme and Apps sub forum )
So here it is: Orange Glacier ?!?!?!?
Why the name:
Because ClockworkMod Recovery (3.0.0.5+) for Gingerbread is colored Orange for EXT 4 partitions and since this ROM uses EXT 4 File System (FS) as its primary FS, I decided to name it this way.
So what is in this Orange Glacier?
1. Completely rebuilt from Stock Image
2. Uses exclusively EXT 4 FS
3. Moved all optional Apps to /data/app partition for easy uninstall (including most Google Apps)
4. Rooted, /system set to RW by default
5. Deodexed, Zip aligned all /system/apps and framework files using ROM kitchen from fellow XDA member.
6. Dalvik memory boosted from default 24MB to 36MB
7. Few CFS tweaks
I want to Thank the following:
TeamSilence for inspiring me to start it all,
Pack for the awesome battery mods,
dsixda for the easy to use ROM kitchen (highly recommended to anyone interested in cooking their own ROM, it CAN'T be easier than what he provided)
Installation:
The File ==> Orange Glacier Version 2.0 <==
WARNING: The INSTALLER WILL ERASE ALL USER DATA AND SYSTEM DATA!!!
Requirement: MUST HAVE CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY 3.0.0.5+
1. Reboot into recovery
2. Wipe Cache Partition
3. Install zip from SDCard
4. Once installation is completed, select Reboot System Now
Note: Upon first reboot may take up to 4~6 mins.
The following pre-installed Apps will need to be updated MANUALLY from Market by searching for their names:
Google Search
Youtube
Google Maps
T-Mobile MyAccount
T-Mobile TV
Qik Video Chat
TwonkyMobile
Google Street
All Built-in Games (Monopoly, NFS etc)
or they can all be easily un-installed because they are NO LONGER System Apps.
History:

There's nothing special about this ROM.. It's mainly stock with the tweaks I mentioned in the OP...
stock is good for my battery i need battery more than fancy animations and all this gingerbread stuff
Sweet! Downloading now. Thanks Faux!
BTW, are there any known bugs/issues Faux?
Everything you have done is so amazing, so everything you do, we would pay special attention~~Tky Faux!!
nothing wrong basically itsstock with a few additions like battery mod and lil visuals here and there and speed up alot i dont feel no lag at all everything works idk bout ffc on qik cause my girl dont have but evrything is good to go
Well, this ROM gives me the best data speeds i have ever had. Unfortunately, every time that i reboot, it erases all of my screens. not sure why and OP says no support for this ROM. So i guess i will flash something else. It pains me to have to give up the data speeds.

He actually stated no support unless something serious is wrong. That seems pretty serious if happening to others as well. I would love to load a "de-bloatwared" stock image with good speed and full functionality. I can't wait to hear more feedback on this one.

Install, update & FAQ.
How do I install this properly and clean from another MIUI or CM based rom?
THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA!
1: make full backup using miui backup (skip if you're on CM)
2: reboot into recovery and make a nandroid backup
3: do a factory reset and format /system
4: flash the .zip and reboot, if you came from CM you can skip the next steps
5: restore your miui backup
6: reboot
How do I update an existing MIUI/CM based rom and keeping my apps/data?
1: make full backup using miui backup (skip if you're on CM)
2: reboot into recovery and make a nandroid backup
3: goto mounts/storage and format /cache /system and wipe the dalvik cache
4: flash the .zip and reboot, if you came from CM you can skip the next steps
5: restore your miui backup, some system settings may have change between releases, so this will not always for all settings
6: reboot
FAQ:
Q: The phone is lagging like mad after first boot/flash.
A: This is normal, let the phone settle for a few minutes.
Q: Why can't I run things as root anymore?
A: Since MIUI 1.9.9 you have to enable root permissions. Open up the "Superuser" app, press the menu soft key, click settings and enable root permissions.
Q: How do I add more input languages to the GB keyboard?
A: Download them from the market or directly from here.
Extended settings issues:
Q: How do I remove the Google logo from the notification bar?
A: Open up "MIUI Control" app and go to "Carrier options" and then disable "Display carrier logo".
Q: The wall paper scrolling doesn't work.
A: To fix; open the menu on the mainscreen and goto Launcher. Disable and enable wallpaper scrolling and it should work. This only has to be done once.
Q: I've set an alarm but there is no icon to show it is enabled.
A: To fix; open MIUI Control app, go to Clock options and disable and enable the alarm icon. This only has to be done once.
(more to come)
First of all thank you!
Are there other langugages included than english/chinese?
it looks pretty god damn cool
This looks perfect for me as I wanted to try MIUI but thought some other ROM was to bloated.
edit: Damn, my phone is at 2%.. Gonna have to charge it up before trying it. :/
At the moment it is just English, but I'm sure you can apply the 1.8.26 language packs to this as it is pretty much stock, with some crud removed.
The miuiandroid.com guys did add some tweaks for GPS, which is mostly for Europe. For other users, replace /system/etc/gps.conf and /system/etc/telocation.db with these files. Just open up the ROM zip in 7zip/winrar/winzip and over write the ones in there, then flash as normal.

As far as i Know the FM stuff isn't ported from CM yet, I'm going to give it a go later. If it works I will make an update.zip to add it.
Nevermind the above, it seems to be able to break your internal speaker for good: http://www.galnetmiui.co.uk/content/forum/index.php?topic=1258.0
I'll wait for a proper fix and kernel and/or app.
Battery life...
looks good. "congratulations"!. I wanted to do something the same but you beat me to it. Anyway, how is the battery life with Neo 17? Can you some report without all the bloats in it for battery life? So far, 1.8.26 MIUI.US is 1 1/2 a day on moderate use with data and wifi on. And it sleeps like a baby.
Thanks in advance.
Firstly it looks very gud!
Secondly how is the battery life ? I don't go out much so i don't want amazing battery life just average!
What are AOSP roms? ( I am not a noob but i have installed only jetpack rom till now which is very easy to install but i just want to know more before I flash this)
Then ,what is hashtab?and what do we have to check? Can't understand!
I couldn't understand the cache and all that clearing points can u explain them in easy step to step way?
Pls reply!

@bhuvan
AOSP refers to the Android Open Source Project. Google's phones are based on the AOSP. Any other phone manufacture has their own version of Android on their phones such as HTC (Sense), Samsung (Touchwiz), LG (variant of Touchwiz) etc...These are based on the AOSP but skinned to the manufacturer's needs..
If you wish to install MIUI, please ensure you have read and every installation step carefully. You need to 1st make sure that u hv gingerbread bootloaders. Since you are running Jetpack ROM, you should be on gb bootloaders...Once this is confirmed, simply put the MIUI ROM that you desire, go to recovery and flash the ROM....wait till it boots completely and voila...ur phone will never be the same again...
Once you are on MIUI, you'll never want to go back to samsung roms...as for the battery life...I get 48 hrs of medium usage - wifi (95% of the time and rest on 3.5g network), browsing, facebook, emailing (a lot), photos...
I'm sure you will have fun with MIUI...and there will be no turning back...If you wish to go back to Samsung based ROMs, just download any Speedmod kernel flashed via Odin and that's it...u r all set...
Hv fun..
I am on galaxian kernel right now so do I need to move to speedmod kernel? Also on more quick question main post says to replace some files but i don't have a computer right now so i can't but also I don't use GPS so can I install without changing that files ?

So far so good, I installed this ROM last night and until now haven't encountered any problem yet. This ROM is just what I want, Galnet MIUI seems a bit bloated and unstable at the moment.
Thanks for the feedback! My battery life greatly depends on what I do. If i casually browse, make calls and maybe watch some you it lasts 1-2 days. Be sure to calibrate your battery though, its easy but time consuming but worth it.
I've been using this little mashup for ages based on the miuiandroid.com releases.
A little secret, a kitchen may be up soon. So you can brew your own MIUI, choose a kernel, gps tweaks EU/US/etc, pick a default theme, with MIUIthe possibilities are end;less. It is just sad the MIUI community seems fragmented now.
miuiandroid.com vs miui.us vs galnet vs. miui.com
Why can't we all get along and make an epic ROM we can all customize!
I want that, and I shall do my best to make it happen. We may have to follow the -stable branch and only add weekly updates/fixes when it concerns our phones.
Personally I like to run the latest stuff, but not at the price that I can't rely on this ROM to serve me when I simply need a phone

So, with that said, you will be updating this rom with weekly updates like miui without it getting bloated. This sounds good, as you have a fully working phone to use. Have you tried incorporating Neo 17 r8. Alot have reported it wurmth good battery life.

Hi,
Due to the demand of work related to this thread in the vibrant section I have needed to suspend all updates in this ROM thread. However due to the simplicity and ease of transition from vibrant to Galaxy S if there are features that members like from the vibrant thread made into a ROM for Galaxy S please PM me. I am a Galaxy S owner and all of my testing is done on my device and translated to Vibrant so it is actually quite easy for me to do, however it is not easy maintaining updates to two ROMs and two threads.

Always have this cleaning script on your internal SD card ready
If you're
- switching kernels,
- have issues with auto-rotation,
- the cam,
- bootloops
- want to remove init script
- recover from a failed overclock attempt
please give either:
- lippol94's updated cleaning script (apply via CWM recovery): http://www.multiupload.com/XFH1GCK4MB
or
- WiwiPouPou's SYSTEM CLEANER SCRIPT (also apply via CWM recovery): (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14805606&postcount=21739)
a try
the kernel already applies some cleaning steps during install but sometimes that's not enough ...

Would it be possible to either upload the build.prop separately or list the changes made? I'm happy running onecosmic's rc2, but would appreciate getting Samsung apps working

Here is the build.prop details
I can tell you how to make your phone read Samsung in the build.prop, but you will need more than that.
The phone needs to be seen as Gingerbread version SGS. I have it as JVT because that is what I was on
I have kept part of the OneCosmic build label in the build name for my phone….because it is not the same as the download being RC3.1....and people need to know that (I never related to why before..I always thought it was for a label for recognition, but it helps devs support those experiencing issues - heck no use asking OneCosmic why your particular device cant download apps from samsung apps or stalls on install when trying to install an apk). I have my name as enhancement of MyUI and RC3.1 combinations (To note here this build is more RC3 build that it is MyUiICS. So reversed the order Me-> MyUI ->RC3.1 with final prototype name relating to initial port being the suffix final reference. If I were Japanese I would have reversed it LOL
It also needs to be a Samsung and GT-I9000 in those details and not the test keys code name or else Samsung apps will deny download or say your device is not supported. All apks that are existing that you may already have also check for framework when installing. That being said you *could* AFAIK edit xml in each of the apks to not check for twframework, but that would be rather time consuming
You will need the jar file for Touchwiz.4 and twframework.apk at minimum.
Then you are going to need an XML file in permissions for touchwiz
Path location
system\etc\permissions\
Tag: touchwiz.xml
Code
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<permissions>
<library name="touchwiz" file="/system/framework/twframework.jar"/>
</permissions>
This enables the framework apk to be utilised and for the device to be recognised when the samsung apps application does a check like a license file check. When it sees that its touchwiz (proprietory Samsung framework) and that it has the check details matching SGS and latest version it will allow you to download apks.
But for what its work just download the ROM and give it a try, I think you will find that its much more improved compared to RC2 that’s for sure! I noticed the improvements, mainly the ROM. Plus you have MTP, enhanced connection for 3G via the script load at boot as well as strengthened GPS (via XML) but can totally understand why you would want to do it your self. It’s the learning that makes the difference isn't it? Good luck with it.
dang. i got the required files from another thread and made the changes and hey presto! bootloops.

'THE BOOTLOOPS OF HELL!!!'
- CWR MANAGER BEST PRACTICES 101 -
The response:
oooh ouch. Yeah mine doesn't bootloop. You need to get it right and you will learn from this no doubt (and I'm not being a smart arse here either).
The issue:
I think that there is an amount of "sensitivity" with doing things via recovery compared to rootexplorer'ing things to get it done. It's usually a permissions issue in the files them selves. Check your permissions.
The learning:
My recommendation to you would be to always keep a SD card reader handy You could (if you haven't taken a nandroid backup cause you were confident - trust me i have done it) always use your ext SD card to load a new ROM (say this one for instance ) boot into CWM and then flash from SD card and your back cooking with gas. If you continued issues because your Nand md5 is missmatched (different kernels or something?) then you could flash to an earlier base kernel (I have done this - trust me again) restore 'system' only (and leaving your data as is)if your back to the base kernel and you can roll back the system to of the ROM to the same kernel and your data will be fine (with the exception of all apps2SD you did will be goneski) but.....the phone will boot and your data will be there. Do a CWM backup of the nice "rolled back ROM" with your data all there and a sigh of relief.
I did this rolling back from RC3 to RC1 after kernel issues with RC2.
Then flash confidently your new ROM...(wipe or no wipe - I would recommend wipe at this stage and I will explain why) then restore data from the new recent CWM back up and your on your new ROM with the restored data as if you did a non-wipe install
The solution:
For you right now (so its not all in hindsight like 'Oh well thats great that can't help me now only in the future ' ) you have the power to excuse my pun "BACK TO THE FUTURE III" michael J fox styles
At the very least do a nandroid right now even with system kaput and ****ty bootloops just for the sake of keeping your data.
Then when you flash and getting back on a clean "base" and restore data from this ****ty recovery you've taken and name it appropriately too - something like 17-01-12_ICS_RC_RC_datagain (who would use a naming convertion like that? ME! Date->ICS (for the sake of knowing the system you were on at the time cause you ain't needing it at all) RC....as you'd expect, RC again for "REALLY CRAP" and datagain cause you'd only retain it to gain access to your data LOL)
You may laugh at that but think about it...you don't wana make the silling mistake of seeing a bunch of backups with no unique identifiers (yes you - your the one that needs to uniquely identify the backup from all others that you have no idea what they were) "2011-11-05.15.31.46" and get a diget wrong or backwards looking at your cool bring blue recovery text in sized 2.5 system font and restore "2011-11-05.15.13.46" which happens to be bootloop central and then accidently restore it and think WTF did do wrong?
So then delete the CWM backup (the ****ty RC_RC_datagain one) off your SD (saves space) and THEN take a breath then a break fresh backup of new RC3.1 with the now existing data - it will keep a nice save point.
I make a habit of doing this every time just before I flash a ROM and just after once I know everything stable. As time goes I routinely go to clockwork on SD and blow away older non needed backups of ROMs. I had 3 backups of RC1 with restored apps and blank base etc etc. Keep the best of the ones and clear the rest.
The recommendations:
This is why the CWM app by chainfire is so brilliant. It allows to you input your own "meta-data" about the backup entry into the header of the backup. i.e. standard CWM from boot doesn't it asigns a default date and time string and nothing to uniquely identify your backup. In CWM it allows you to asign your own title.
For good practice. Prefix date then ROM, kernel then status. e.g 17-01-12_ICSRC3_1_Plat_fully restored*
*fully restored indicating all apps back up, all links from UI to apps on SD, all contacts, all messages etc.
Full factory data reset for a complete wipe and fresh install would get an suffix of "base". i.e 17-01-12_ICSRC3_1_Plat_base*
*base would mean a clean base to get to if you need to
Something to note here is that having a base is sometimes a good starting or flashing point if you ever need go back an increment without needing to redo multiple ROMS and kernels. Like needing to go back to JVT, then CM7 and the RC1 then RC3 is a hassle. If you had a clean base of RC2 you can always run kernel cleaning script, flash fresh kernel of the ROM that you had for RC2 and then do a full restore of the backup base from RC2 and you have a fresh RC2 ROM. Then restore data from there.....from your latest backup.
Following good practices like this ensures you don't get some sort of remaining fragments of a past ROM interfering with your release upgrade ;-)
So many devs and ROM'er have the default "Oh well you should have taken a nandroid backup dude not my problem do a wipe and start again" leaving users half in tears and not really taking the time to share ways that they could help or fix things?
My App package will include CWM1.80 for everyone to use just for this purpose. Make sure you give thanks to the dev for this if you use it! It's a flashers saviour!
PS: If you want you can periodically transfer clockwork backups to a PC for safe keeping and you have all the header metadata to be able to identify them by - trust me I have at times flashed back in yonder to restore an old backup of a ROM to obtain something I wanted (SMS/MMS or what ever) and flash back again hahaha (I now have tools on my PC for extraction of this sort of info if needs be).

yeah, didn't do nandroid backup... but still had ROM files on SD so reinstalled ROM thru CWM and up and running again.
i'm happy to live without samsungapps for now. not really that bothered, it was just something to mess around with to fill a boring afternoon at work!
Facebook Sync - Unable to log-in
Extracted the SNS files from your ROM and copied them to my existing ICS RC3, i am able to open the facebook log-in but it does not however allow me to log-in (blocked login i think). Is there anything that i missed? I dont to reflashed cause i already setup my phone. Thanks for any help.

The main reason I haven't jumped on the ICS bandwagon is that I like Samsung framework, so I am totally interested in this. I realize that this is not true Touchwiz (the TW4 launcher probably won't work) but at least I can have ICS and most of my Samsung apps. Samsung music player working? The camera app?

What phone do you have and what region are you in? The ROMs I have uploaded are for what I see as the most popular modems that people are using.
If you tell me the details I will tell you which link and if needs be I will link you to a secondary modem file to flash if your phone region isn't suited to the ROM.
JVT seems the most common though for "general use" (Edit: I just realised I haven't uploaded my JVT ROM lol ooops! Ahh crapola my Dropbox is at max capacity that why grrr) but if you want awesome battery power maybe something else is better suited I'll check when I get home for you in half hour
Here are the list of modems you can choose from to flash
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1158783
If you have a plain Galaxy S and your on 850mhz network flash the first one and try it. If you have a plain galaxy S and on normal network flash second one and then one from that list....or just the JVT one that will upload when I get home after clearing some rubbish out of my drop box
How did u add facebook sync?!

I was hesitating to jump on ICS for a long time because of no Touchwiz... Cause of native video calling and samsung apps.... But i some how started using ICS without those.. Now that you are trying to bring touch wiz features or port tw4 completely to ICS.. I am all in smiles and have high hopes...
Does this support native video calling?.. If not, Do you plan to bring TW4 with native video calling to ICS RC3.1?..
Thank you very much for your effort and all the best for your future work too...

OK, guys, since adi4motion's thread got locked and the new thread turned into SPAM without any useful information and got moved to the General section, we don't have a thread for Quarx's GB builds. Therefore I am creating this thread to keep track of Quarx's builds. I will do my best to keep it as up-to-date as humanly possible.
NB! This thread does not aim to collect "Thanks". I'd rather answer to questions here, where everyone can benefit from the answers, than having to answer the same questions over and over again on PM.
I'm not taking any credit for this! Please, do not thank me! If you want to thank somebody, thank Quarx, Epsylon3 and maniac103, as they are the ones, responsible for all that! Better yet, you can consider some donations to them for all their continuous efforts!:
Quarx - donations
Epsylon - donations
maniac103 - donations
Also, consider thanking:
adi4motion, parts of whose old thread I am using in this and
nogoodusername, who has been keeping track of bugs and has helped many people get their phones up and running. (Please forgive me if I have missed to give credit to somebody).

4. Wipe data/factory reset (only if doing a fresh install; skip if upgrading from an earlier Nightly) (Optionally you can make a Nandroid backup before wiping data)
5. Wipe cache partition (you can skip this step if you performed Step 4)
6. Wipe Dalvik cache
7. Install Froyo kernel if you are flashing the Defy build (ex. if you own a green-lensed Defy) or a GB kernel if you are flashing the Defy+ build (ex. if you own a red-lensed Defy ) (Skip if you own Defy+!)
8. Install your Nightly build
9. Install gapps
10. Install ICS Defy Red Lense Battery fix (only if you have Defy with red lense)
11. Wipe cache and Dalvik cache; Reboot.
NB! First boot may take up to 10 minutes.
After you have flashed CM9 kernel and your system booted up, you can try flashing the 4.5.2_DHT-22 kernel (mandatory on top of CM9) - some users have found it to be more battery efficient.
Upgrading nightlies
1. Install new nightly build
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache (optional)
3. Reboot

Apex Launcher as system app
For a really smooth and snappy launcher experience, I recommend using Apex launcher and adding it to the whitelist in your build.prop file.
1. Download Apex.apk file
2. Via root explorer place it in /system/app
3. Set its permissions to 0644 (rw-r--r--)
4. Reboot and enjoy your smooth and snappy launcher

I have PM-ed him once too (about a different matter), but never got a response... Guess he's really busy and doesn't have time for everything, but if he decides to create a thread himself, I would gladly ask a moderator to close this - afterall, it's the developer who should be starting and updating a thread for his own ROM. I just wanted to put all the information in one place, so I don't have to rewrite it over and over again in PM's.
Agree auris, but you are a serious guy so I hope this will be it, I guess quarx will be happy that you do this to help, now he can concentrate on his amazing development and you can control this magnificent/needed serious tread. Thanks mate
Ps! Don't ask about my signature, I also have a LG Optimus 2X
Sent from latest Django Manouche with latest Spica Kernel
IMO also Quarx should have created own thread and add donate info coz he really deserved.
Epsylon added new CPU governor to his rom, hope Quarx will do same
It would be better to switch to this theme in the development subforum
Why!?
Hi all.
Excuse my ignorance, but can someone explain to me why the thread for CM9 (the Adi one) got deleted, and all the other CM9 threads ended up here in General?
Everyone seems to be confused.
Thanks
Hi, I've successfully install the CM9 Rom (Quarx version) on BL7, but the thing is, I'm unable to open the "com.android.settings"...it automatically stop when I open it...making me unable to do any configuration...I'm using Defy + by the way...
Can please anyone assist me on this...I tried to search the answer on the web, but unable to find any...just some suggestion to un-install apps, but how I'm supposed to do it since I'm unable to open the setting/configuration apps...
Thank you...
hi thread starter, will it be all right if you provide a link to download the last 4 apks (music, apex etc.) without using dropbox? some, like me, may not be able to access dropbox

Thanks, Auris for starting this thread! You're the right guy to keep track of Quarx's builds
@ Auris
The name of the thread is [ICS][CM9]Quarx Defy/Defy+ builds for GB kernel
Is that means so there will be only discussion about Defy's with GB kersnel?
What about Defy's with Froyo kernel?
Sorry for dumb questions, but it is not clear for me...

That would be awesome, 'cause he definitely is the right guy for this! I'm really glad about this, so as soon as his thread is up, I'll ask a moderator either to delete this thread, or to merge it with Quarx's one.

Quarx is only building GB builds now and Epsylon3 already has his own thread, so yes, this one will only follow Quarx's GB builds (just until he opens a thread himself).

I don't have other online storage and they are bigger than the allowd attachment size to upload on this board. Didn't know there were limitations for DL'ing from Dropbox

You don't have to install it. Just copy it to the app folder, set permissions and reboot.
