[Q] Is there an easy way to unsimlock the Galaxy Nexus - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi there,
Is there an way to unsimlock the Galaxy Nexus ?
I should get one from SFR but it will be surely simlocked.
Cheers,
KLA93

Nexus devices are not sim locked.

Cross fingers,
Will hopefully verify this before end of this week

Is the nexus stock unlocked?

I am going to order a nexus from Rogers in Canada. Is the nexus unlocked from the start, just wondering? Or can carriers lock it?
They're "locked" out of the box, but to unlock it I just used a simple program available on the development boards. You'll also need the ADB drivers to connect.
FYI mine is a CDMA Verizon phone. Very easy to unlock.

Yours shipped with an unlocked bootloader ? Was it a test device? Or are you referring to a sim lock?

I bought my Galaxy Nexus from Rogers, and its unlocked. Just tossed in my MTS sim card, put in my APN settings, and voila! Works like a charm.
Yous are confusing each other. The GSM version is unlocked in the aspect of network compatibility. Meaning you can throw a AT&T/Tmobile sim in it & make calls/data etc. Now the bootloader is locked wich is unlocked with fastboot after installing the adb drivers. The reason for unlocking the bootloader is to flash a recovery image so you can root.

You don't need to flash a new recovery to root. That's what makes the Nexus-phones so awesome. You can boot them from code hosted outside the phone, be it for development-purposes, recovery-purposes, or like for most people, rooting.
Otherwise not debating your point. But this is a common misconception, so I thought I'd correct it.
every GSM version are not sim-locked
My first one from O2 was unlocked. The two warranty replacements from the same shop were locked. Go figure.

All of them are unlocked really.
Sprint / Verizon: only works on their respective networks because they're the ONLY carriers who use that technology.
GSM is a better variant overall. Updates from Google (Yakju/Takju), better battery life. $399 on Play Store.. yes its good, its a nexus device
Another Nexus Question
Does anyone know if the next Galaxy Nexus for Verizon will come with a microSD slot?

No.... don't make this thread into a Nexus 3 speculation thread.
And there is no such thing as the next "Galaxy Nexus" it'll most likely be under a new name unless its called GN2 which I'll be surprised if that was the name.
Thanks for the help I'm probably going to get it when I have the money

Did you buy the phone used?
If the person you bought it from bought it with a contract your phone most probably was SIM locked to that operator. He probably bought a unlock key to the phone before he sold it to you.
The problem is that when you factory reset or flash other ROM's you need to put that pin in again.

So there's not anyway way to unlock it for ever "without pin code "?
Are all g.nexus phones the same like my phone?
thanks again

Yes, yes and yes in the sense all locked phones need a pin after a reset.

You can buy an unlock code to permenantly unlock it. People sell them on ebay, or other places. I have never bought one myself for the Galaxy Nexus (I have for other phones), but others have. I would do some searching/research first to find a trustworthy seller. Then buy your code and your phone is unlocked forever.

No, most Galaxy Nexus phones are not SIM locked. There are a few carriers that do lock them but in general Nexus devices are not SIM locked. It sounds like the person you purchased it from got it from a carrier that did lock it.
